(RAFFAELE'S POV)
Everyone's gathered in the living room for a meeting. I'm sitting there but I'm somewhere else entirely.
All I see is her.
Krystal.
She's sitting across from me on the couch with her legs crossed, her head leaning on Val's shoulder.
Normally, we'd be at war right now. Heated glances. Long looks that last half a second too long. That sharp awareness of each other that never really turns off.
But today?
Nothing.
She hasn't looked at me once.
Not when I walked in. Not when I sat down. Not even by accident.
And I know exactly why.
It's because of what happened yesterday in the pool.
She swam away from me like I was something she needed to escape before it was too late. Even this morning, when I saw her in the hallway, she didn't hesitate. She didn't slow down. She didn't acknowledge my presence at all.
She walked right past me as if I were a ghost.
"Hello? Raffaele, are you even listening to me?" Sandra's voice cuts through my thoughts.
