(Nava's POV)
A week had passed since the final trial. The teacher told us that we barely passed, so the next final trial will focus entirely on our knowledge.
That demon even had the audacity to say he would teach us more because we needed it. As if that was not enough, Teacher Adam gave us new weapons. He did not limit us to only one each. He allowed us to choose, up to four. Holy heavens, his weapons are incredible.
First is Pride. I think it was inspired by Escanor's weapon, Rita. All of his created weapons are named after either virtues or sins. There are fourteen in total, with some additional influences related to time.
Greed is a halberd that seizes and reflects attacks back at opponents. The blade has an orange-like color, and the handle looks like hands trying to steal the weapon. You cannot let go of it unless you genuinely choose to.
Gluttony is a pair of gloves that absorbs Honkai energy from incoming attacks and strengthens its user. A green aura surrounds it, which looks extremely cool.
Lust is a whip that enhances opponents' desires. Envy is a lightweight dagger that steals the abilities of any weapon it clashes with.
Wrath is a war hammer that calls down lightning. Sloth is a firearm that can transform into multiple forms such as railgun, sniper rifle, and pistol.
Now the virtues. Humility is a pair of wings made of golden feathers with ridiculous flight speed. Nothing on Earth can match it. I selected this one as my first weapon.
Charity is a rapier that inflicts unforgettable pain. Temperance is a spear, though I missed most of the explanation since I was distracted choosing weapons.
Chastity is an armor with no exploitable weaknesses. Fireproof, waterproof, windproof, bulletproof, rocket-proof, sword-proof. Every protection you can imagine, it has it.
Kindness is a staff and my second chosen weapon. It is lightweight and can extend, like the Monkey King's staff from journey to the west. Though details from Earth are fuzzy after five years since transmigrating.
Patience is a lance that pierces anything if you strike the perfect point. The drawback is slower movement, though your attacks become ten times stronger. Diligence is a katana with the opposite effect. Weaker attacks, but swift speed.
Now, my favorites.
Evernight is a scythe that blinds opponents. Daybreak is a claymore with an effect similar to Adam's Judgement of Shamash technique, though this one emphasizes sharpness.
Eclipse is a scimitar that can briefly blind, freeze, and burn enemies. Evernight remains superior in blindness.
My third chosen weapon is Twilight, a gauntlet that boosts strength and releases blinding brilliance only visible to the user and allies.
Equinox is a dual sword set. One blade blinds, weaker than Evernight. The other devours attacks, weaker than Gluttony and Greed.
Solstice is a long-range bow capable of fire and ice. Lan picked this one. His second weapon is Dawn, a longsword. Adam explained its ability only to Lan.
When we received our weapons, the teacher made us spar. Lan fired arrows from every corner of the field using Solstice. The energy in each shot was overwhelming. Thankfully, Humility increases reaction speed, so I dodged them all.
I won. Although one arm ended up frozen and the other burned. Training made me used to pain, so I pushed through. Teacher Adam healed both of us afterward. At least he still has a conscience.
Yesterday, he introduced our new juniors. Two girls and three boys. I was shocked, since he told us men with high Honkai resistance are almost nonexistent.
Pandora has black hair and green eyes. He said she has potential with Envy because she trains in assassination.
Shane has black hair with blood-red streaks and pinkish-red eyes. She excels in mid-range combat, so Evernight or Temperance suits her well.
Now the boys.
Dino has dark silver hair with dark blue streaks and blue eyes. He excels in dual-handed and hand-to-hand combat. Teacher claimed Equinox suits him perfectly, and I agree. He looks lazy, though.
Flores has pink hair and pink eyes. His name sounds feminine, but he pulls it off. He specializes in giant swords. Teacher said Daybreak is his best match, which I also agree with.
The last one, Mammon, is skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Teacher said Twilight or Gluttony suits him. Since Twilight is already mine, Gluttony becomes the perfect choice.
Immediately after introductions, they had to fight Lan and me. We destroyed them. The only threats were Dino, who could move absurdly far, and Pandora, whose movements were nearly invisible. Still, we defeated them.
Dino was the only one who managed to hit us. Strange, considering the teacher calls him the laziest in training. He simply copies movements he saw during demonstrations. Terrifying talent.
Teacher said they are now ready to undergo the same brutal training we endured. Meaning Lan and I are about to suffer brain overload again.
That devil of a teacher showed us a preview. We must memorize every power of each Herrscher, every divine weapon, and every possible function of Herrscher cores, including Finality. The final lesson is apparently a quiz about every Herrscher and how we would use their powers if we became them.
Teacher Adam is currently teaching us about Herrscher powers. The ones that interest me most are the Herrscher of Stars and the Herrscher of Ice. Lan is more interested in the Herrscher of Wind.
Thinking about it, Twilight would work well for both star and ice powers. I already perfected the basics of Renewal Taekwondo. My next goal is to master the Stigmata of Stars.
Wait for me, teacher. This disciple of yours will surpass you one day.
