The ballroom glittered like something from a dream. I stood beside Lorenzo, my hand resting on his arm. The orchestra started playing the opening notes of our first dance.
Lorenzo pulled me close, his one hand was on my back, and other hand took mine. Although, we had decided we won't do first dance, but constant nagging from Yuki made us do so.
"You're supposed to look like you're in love with me." Lorenzo murmured in my ear.
"I'm supposed to look like I'm not planning to kill you." I shot back.
He laughed. People smiled, thinking it was some private joke between the newlyweds.
When the song ended, he kept my hand in his and led me to our table.
My father sat with Luciano, with a glass of wine. When he saw me, his expression told me he was satisfied with my performance.
Matteo was at the bar. He stood alone, with a drink, looking at me like always. But tonight there was something else in his eyes. He was saying goodbye.
