"You're out of breath already? We've barely run a hundred yards and we got a few more left to go."
"And unlike you, I actually passed law school instead of dropping out every three months."
Like that, the DA's left hand of which was handcuffed to BB's right hand rose and struck him in the face. When he pulled back for another punch, he saw that BB's nose was broken and that a fight was going to break out. But the Appalachian Butcher was completely unchanged as he was left there only thinking of how the punch could've infected his intellect.
"So, be on your best behavior and don't speak unless spoken to. Understand, this place is sacred and make sure to not destroy these things."
"Yes, drill sergeant!"
With his toxic charisma, the DA had tried to infect the monster, but it was met with a long marble arm to the stomach. In any normal form, the hand would've ended him instantly. But when the arm retracted, they gazed upon the wound to see nothing but a slightly torn suit and the pathetic DA rolling on the ground with his chest being almost entirely red from the mark it left on him.
"Please refrain from sassing me. Understood, human?"
The DA gave a slight nod as they walked and finally reached the end of the long hallway. Heavy cedar wood made up a majority of the doors, and the rest was made of gold that imbedded patterns that looked like they were a flowing river. Despite their ginormous size the monster opened the doors with a single wave of its hand.
"You got her number? Good for you man. When was the last time that you had gone on a date, wasn't it like thirty years ago?"
Sears was terrified. The social skills of that man were dead if you hadn't known him for some time or if he didn't take an immediate liking to your presence. Like any man who was well off in the confused department, he saw that he had been well, confused! Lost and in need of help, he turned to the most charismatic person he knew. Who also just so happened to be the most mentally insane person he ever met.
"I don't know, what should I do? I don't even have a phone!"
"Okay, this is going to take some time for planning, just give me some time to figure this out."
"What are you talking about?"
"You heard me, now, what are we going to do about the job?"
"Right, I say that we send Alexandria to do some scouting and see what she can figure out about him and just get back to this!"
Scott never had a single moment of joy for the likes of Sears's love life. But that didn't mean he wasn't going to be a good help to the man who treated him like a son. Meanwhile back at the cabins, Alexandria was tearing into the doctor as if she was a ravenous beast which followed Mistress explaining what a listening device is and can be used for.
"This is a total destruction of privacy, and you should not do that to your tenants!"
The doctor noticed in a moment of pure genius how the girl in front of him was in actuality, the lost princess of Yorkshire. His memory had been not so necessarily keen, but he could never forget a face from those trying times. She was trying to find a place for the extended family to stay after they removed any proof of her family's other children existing as to preserve the family even in the face of their house's collapse.
"Excuse me miss, but what did you say your name was? I don't believe I wrote it down for my ledger."
"Alexandria."
"Last name? I just want to keep this in the books because, yet again, you didn't exactly tell me last night when you came in."
Something in her gut had told her that this man was off. She couldn't place her finger on it yet. He had just confessed to running the world from behind the scenes but at the same time he also wanted her name in a ledger. It could've been some kind of magic that allowed him to control those who wrote their names down. But that thought was pushed to the back of her head.
"I'd prefer not. But make sure to do so at a later time, ta!"
The two girls moved back at their fastest speed to their cabins. The two of them were terrified beyond belief. Mistress and Alexandria shared their pieces of the broken puzzle before Joey made them a strange dinner. Something was off but the world was almost always never normal for them.
"What are we having for supper?"
"Ramen noodles."
"Ramen? I know what noodles are."
"Well, it's delicious."
Joey, despite appearing to be a stereotypical Italian American, was actually Japanese.
"So, how do I eat it?"
Alexandria almost immediately picked up on how to use chopsticks, she had been learning a lot. Mistress had found her long and bony fingers to hold up poorly.
"You can just use your mind to move it."
Sitting in his chair, Joey found a strange variety of things in Scott's room. That room being a bathtub that he slept in. The toilet was repurposed as a composter bin.
"Why are there five cups of salsa in the bathtub?"
"Don't you mean five containers of salsa?"
"No, five cups!"
Three measuring cups were sitting in the porcelain bathtub. Joey rubbed his blackening eyes before he had sat back at the dinner table. Later that night the undynamic duo of Sears and Scott came back to the cabins. They couldn't eat the dinner that Joey had happily yet also sloppily made for them. They had far too many buffalo wings.
"Hey, does anyone know where my salsa went? I try to keep my stuff in my room."
"Why do you have salsa in your room? We haven't even been given the chance to go shopping."
"Always keep a few jars on me, but the one time I take them off, this happens."
