Chapter 153 - VIL [153]

Crimson scales, wide draconic wings, a massive tail, and heterochromatic eyes.

The true evolved form of Odd-Eyes Dragon—Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon, appear!

[Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon, ATK 3000]

"Then Odd-Eyes Wizard Dragon's remaining effect activates—I add Spiral Flame Strike from my Deck to my hand!"

Looking at the newly arrived dragon on Yuui's field, a faint sense of unease rose within the assassin, though she still continued calmly: "Then Card of Compensation's effect resolves. I draw 2 cards."

"Next, I activate the Spell CardSpiral Flame Strike!" Yuui revealed the freshly searched card. "If an Odd-Eyes card exists on your field: target 1 card on the field; destroy it. Or, add 1 Level 7 Odd-Eyes monster from your Deck or face-up Extra Deck to your hand.

"I choose the first effect—since I control an Odd-Eyes card, I target 1 card on the field to destroy it. I target your Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World—destroy it.

"Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon—Spiral Flame Strike!!"

"ROOOOAR!!"

The crimson dragon let out a thunderous roar. The blue orb on its chest ignited with blazing firelight, its dual-colored eyes shining fiercely. A spiraling burst of black-red dragon flame launched toward Reign-Beaux.

BOOM!!

The explosion resounded violently. Reign-Beaux was instantly reduced to ashes, and the shockwave forced the assassin two steps back.

Albeit she wasn't shocked by the dragon's power. Something else occupied her mind as well as Alice's.

When Yuui recited Spiral Flame Strike's text earlier… something was missing.

They had both heard that the Spell had a second effect involving another monster. Yet, when Yuui spoke, the monster's name simply wasn't there.

As if it had been blocked.

Or rather… Yuui had spoken it, but some force prevented the name from being heard.

And what kind of monster could be added not only from the Deck, but face-up from the Extra Deck? Neither of them had ever heard of such a monster.

This uncertainty planted the same ominous fear in both the assassin and Alice.

A powerful enemy isn't frightening.

The unknown one is.

"Next, I activate the Spell Card Pot of Greed—draw 2 cards!" Yuui glanced at the new cards, then waved his hand. "I Set 2 cards and end my turn!"

As Yuui ended his turn, the Duel returned to Alice. She glanced briefly at Alicia's crimson eyes, brows furrowing.

Regardless, she shoved away her stray thoughts and focused solely on the Duel.

"My turn—draw!"

She checked the new card, then declared, "I activate the Spell Card Pot of Avarice. Target 5 monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle them into the Deck, then draw 2 cards.

"I target Snake-Eyes Poplar, Snake-Eye Ash, Snake-Eye Birch, Snake-Eyes Diabellstar, and Diabellze the Original Sinkeeper—shuffle them back, then draw 2 cards!"

"Trying the same trick again? Think not!" The assassin snapped a card up. "I activate the effect of D.D. Crow. During either player's turn: discard this card to target 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; banish that target.

"I target Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon in your Graveyard—banish it!"

"What!?"

A black mechanical crow shot from Alice's Graveyard, snatched the card, and vanished into another dimension.

With her key card disrupted, Alice could no longer loop her effects—still, she had options.

"In that case, I activate the other effect of Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye in my Graveyard. Banish it; target 1 Snake-Eye or Diabellstar monster in your Graveyard; add 1 FIRE Level 1 monster from your Deck to your hand, then place the targeted monster on the bottom of your Deck.

"I target Snake-Eyes Diabellstar, add Snake-Eye Oak to my hand, then return Diabellstar to the bottom of the Deck.

"Then I Normal Summon Snake-Eye Oak!"

[Snake-Eye Oak, ATK 800]

"Snake-Eye Oak's effect activates. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: target 1 FIRE Level 1 monster in your Graveyard or Banished Zone; add it to your hand or Special Summon it. I Special Summon Snake-Eyes Poplar."

[Snake-Eyes Poplar, DEF 200]

"Then I activate Snake-Eye Oak's second effect. Send this card and 1 other face-up card you control to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 Snake-Eye monster from your hand or Deck.

"I send Snake-Eye Oak and Snake-Eyes Poplar to the Graveyard—Special Summon Snake-Eyes Diabellstar!!"

Once again, the two Snake-Eye monsters fused into a brilliant flame, and the pink-scaled dragon descended with a deep growl.

[Snake-Eyes Diabellstar, ATK 2800]

"Next, Snake-Eyes Poplar's final effect activates. When this card is sent to the Graveyard: target 1 FIRE monster in your Graveyard; place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell.

"I place Snake-Eye Ash in my backrow!"

"Battle Phase!" Alice commanded. "Snake-Eyes Diabellstar—direct attack! Flames of Atonement!!"

"ROOOOAR!!"

The crimson serpent unleashed a blast of blistering blue flames. Seeing this, Yuui's finger twitched—abruptly, then, before he could act, the assassin pulled out a card and smirked.

"Naïve. You think just because my field is empty, you can beat me?

"I activate the effect of Juragedo in my hand! During either player's battle step: Special Summon this card from your hand and gain 1000 LP!

"I Special Summon Juragedo in Defense Position and recover 1000 Life Points!"
