Chapter 13 - 13 – Dual Attributes X Thoughts after Death

Inside the water glass,

The water began to boil, like boiling water.

It was already bubbling, and steam was wafting out.

The green leaf that had originally been floating on top inexplicably melted under such boiling, completely dissipating and dissolving into the liquid, making the entire transparent liquid turn slightly green.

However, the change did not stop there; tiny specks of light black color appeared and floated within the slightly green liquid.

Then these changes stopped.

Wing stood by, watching this scene with a very surprised expression. He understood the Nen Ability System.

He had never heard of such a change and couldn't help but look at Biscuit.

Biscuit unceremoniously poked the water with her finger, first smelling it, then putting it into her mouth.

"The water tastes like grass, sweet with a hint of bitterness. The leaf has indeed melted into the water, and it doesn't belong to the five changes mentioned above."

Kevin understood now. It was the Specialization System.

It was still not the Conjuration System he had thought of.

Now, thinking carefully about his Nen Ability, he used the materials he possessed and his understanding of their characteristics to refine potions.

The medicines he refined were like items in a game, capable of providing buffs to himself.

Indeed, it didn't quite resemble the characteristics of the five systems mentioned earlier.

Biscuit's voice rang out.

"Your Nen simultaneously possesses Enhancement System and Specialization System, two completely opposite systems, and the aura you display perfectly matches your current situation."

"What do you mean?" Kevin asked, not understanding.

"This involves the characteristics of the Six Systems I hadn't finished explaining earlier."

As she spoke, a pointer appeared in her hand again, and she tapped the blackboard.

"Although Nen Ability has a preference, it doesn't mean that Nen Ability cannot display characteristics of other systems.

It's just that the effectiveness that can be exerted is not as good as what one is skilled at. According to this hexagon, we can know.

Assume you are only Enhancement System. Then your Enhancement System can exert 100% effectiveness, while the adjacent Emission System and Transmutation System can only exert 80%, and the Conjuration System and Manipulation System below that can only exert 60%, and in contrast, the furthest one can only exert a minimum of 40%."

From Biscuit's experience, Kevin's Enhancement System characteristics leaned toward the Transmutation System side. And his Specialization System characteristics leaned slightly toward the Conjuration System.

Hearing this explanation, Kevin looked at the hexagonal chart.

Starting from the top, arranged clockwise:

Enhancement System — Transmutation System — Conjuration System — Specialization System — Manipulation System — Emission System — Enhancement System.

It formed a circle like this, connected with straight lines to form a regular hexagon.

Soon, Kevin discovered something strange.

"In that case, Specialization System..."

"That's right. If there's no Specialization System, then there's no Specialization System. There is no possibility of training it.

Therefore, Nen users of the Specialization System are extremely rare, and each one is bizarre."

"In that case, wouldn't the two adjacent systems naturally have one less 80% than other systems?"

Wouldn't that be a huge loss?

Biscuit nodded, but added, "Although the Specialization System is innate, it doesn't mean it cannot change later. There is an extremely low probability of other systems transforming into the Specialization System.

Among these, the adjacent Conjuration System and Manipulation System have a higher possibility than others."

From what she said, it seemed the Specialization System was very powerful.

Then he immediately reacted.

He couldn't help but exclaim, "So that means I have two 100%s and four 80%s, with no lower ones?"

If viewed this way, could this series of bonuses and differences also be considered his golden finger?

Biscuit nodded. That was exactly what she meant.

The series of illogical situations on Kevin's body made Biscuit understand why Ging would go to such lengths to entrust her with his teaching.

It wasn't Biscuit boasting, but in such a special situation, there were few people in this world who could compare with her in teaching such a unique case.

Relying on her experience, she could instantly spot differences and problems.

Looking at Kevin's expression, Biscuit poured a basin of cold water on him.

"Don't be happy too soon. In most cases, Nen users will only train in the system they are proficient in. Only when that system encounters a bottleneck and becomes difficult to improve will they train in adjacent systems to assist in increasing combat power."

Hearing this lesson, Kevin humbly nodded. He understood this point.

Don't be overly ambitious. A person's energy is limited. Specialization allows one to go further. Knowing everything means knowing nothing.

However, Biscuit added, "We belong to the Shingen-ryu, adopting the 『Mountain』 character training method."

"The 『Mountain』 character training method?"

"That's right. With your main system as the primary and the two adjacent auxiliary systems as secondary, you simultaneously train and improve upward.

It's best for you to focus on the Enhancement System, supplemented by the Transmutation and Emission Systems. As for the other two, wait until you reach a bottleneck before training them."

Biscuit had already seen that the Specialization System was not Kevin's essence. The Enhancement System was.

Kevin nodded.

Looking at the optimistic Kevin, Biscuit's expression had already calmed. Her previous surprise at Kevin's Nen Ability was not merely because he simultaneously possessed both the Specialization System and the Enhancement System.

Possessing two completely opposite Nen attributes, while very rare, was not unheard of.

All sorts of accidents could cause such things to happen; the world was vast.

Moreover, in the hands of some truly great nations, such situations could be replicated.

Rituals. Inheritances. Sacrifices.

These were all methods.

What she truly cared about was a deeper reason. That was Post-mortem Nen.

If a person possessed intense obsession and resentment, it would form Post-mortem Nen after their death.

If this person was a Nen user, their Nen Ability would transform into Post-mortem Nen, which would strengthen the Nen Ability and lead to unpredictable consequences.

But this was definitely related to obsession.

Such situations often did not bode well.

And now, a Post-mortem Nen had appeared on a living person, and it was being used freely by the living person as if it were his own Nen, commanded as easily as an arm.

It had even completely merged with his body, just like his own Nen, even affecting the other party's Nen Ability system. If it weren't for her rich experience, she wouldn't have noticed any flaw.

This was the first time she had seen such a situation.

This was not something Kevin at his current stage should know. Or rather, this knowledge needed to wait until he had learned more before being told, otherwise it was very likely to make such Nen Ability uncontrollable.

She still needed to observe more during subsequent training to draw a conclusion.

Because Biscuit couldn't determine how this Post-mortem Nen was formed or what its obsession was.

The conditions for forming such a situation were extremely stringent.

If combined with Kevin's current strange state and the various illogical points on his body, unraveling them and putting them together,

It would lead to a startling answer.

Biscuit felt that she had glimpsed a secret, which made her even more curious.

Thinking of this, she directly said, "Today's class ends here. Now, pack up, and we'll leave. Let's do more thinking on the way."

"On the way? Where to?"

Kevin asked, but his body naturally began to pack up his belongings in the hotel.

"Don't ask so many questions. An apprentice only needs to listen to his master," Biscuit said, hands on her hips, lecturing him.

Kevin helplessly said, "Yes, Master."

"Heh heh." Biscuit smiled smugly. This kid is quick to catch on.

Soon, they left and headed straight for the airport. Everything had already been prepared. The airship had been booked before Biscuit and the others arrived, including Kevin's.

On the way, Biscuit spoke of the plan.

"Your situation is very special. Your knowledge and experience, including combat techniques, are like those of an ordinary person, but your application of aura has already reached professional standards, and you even have your own Nen Ability.

Coupled with your amnesia, your training needs to start with rehabilitation."

Kevin nodded. Ging had said the same thing before. To be honest, he was somewhat looking forward to it.
