Chapter 15: The Notorious Pirate
Lena Morgen set sail once more, this time on a trade mission to deliver wine to a nearby place called Laite Island.
This was considered a beginner's trade mission, designed to teach players how to earn money through trade.
Lena's ship now had ten sailors and three cannons, and its hull had been reinforced, so she didn't have to worry about pirate raids.
She could trade with confidence.
If she encountered pirates on the way, she would even actively attack them, as it seemed to her that plunder was a faster way to make money than trade—that was the advantage of being a pirate.
Carrying ten barrels of wine, she sailed across the vast ocean.
The beautiful seascape was refreshing, much more pleasant than the crude and gloomy graphics of Kingdom Adventure.
It was a pity about Kingdom Adventure; it was neither enjoyable nor worth abandoning. Perhaps this was just the changing of the times, Lena mused.
Opening the map, she had already sailed half the distance.
She would arrive at Laite Island in about twenty minutes.
"Captain Leni, a pirate ship has been spotted ahead to the left! Oh no, it's the Warren Pirate Crew!"
The Warren Pirate Crew was a notorious pirate group in the vicinity, and their leader, Warren, was an infamous pirate who committed all sorts of evil deeds.
Their sailing ship was also twice the size of Leni's.
"Warning: High-level pirates detected ahead. Do not try to fight a losing battle!"
A system notification appeared; such messages only showed up when the enemy was overwhelmingly powerful.
Lena picked up her telescope to observe the Warren Pirate Crew's ship.
There appeared to be over twenty pirates on board. While she was observing Warren, he also saw her through his telescope.
Warren's lips curled into a smile, revealing a mouthful of gold teeth: "That ship is coming from the direction of Cannonfire Town. It looks like it's transporting supplies. Turn the ship around and get alongside them!"
"Understood, Captain Warren!"
Warren's pirate ship began to rapidly close in on Lena's position.
Mina quickly changed course; the advantage of a small boat was its slightly faster speed.
Seeing the prey about to escape, Warren waved his hand: "Bruno, fire a shot!"
A pirate named Bruno cautiously approached.
"Captain Warren, do we really have to shoot at that pirate ship?"
"I said shoot, so shoot! What are you babbling about? Do you want a whipping!?"
Under Warren's threat, Bruno broke out in a cold sweat: "Captain Warren, the angle is set. Please fire!"
"Haha, that's more like it!"
Warren laughed loudly and used a torch to light the fuse.
With a roar, the cannonball shot out of the barrel and flew rapidly towards Lena's pirate ship in the distance.
Just as Lena was about to move out of sight, the cannonball tore through the air and accurately hit the hull.
The entire ship shook violently, suffering varying degrees of damage, which slowed its sailing speed.
"What the hell, it actually hit from this distance!" Lena was dumbfounded.
Mina also looked incredulous: "This should be an extremely low-probability event!"
Immediately after, another cannonball tore through the air.
"Everyone, take cover!"
Lena and Mina quickly hid.
To their astonishment, this cannonball also hit, and the ship shook again, suffering even more severe damage than before.
"Mina, at this distance, are you confident you can hit the opposing ship?"
"I'm not confident. This distance is too far. There must be a formidable gunner on that ship!"
Two consecutive accurate hits were definitely not luck; there was a master on the other side.
She glanced at the deck; the portside cannon was already damaged, and it was too late to turn the ship around now.
In an instant, the Warren Pirate Crew's ship had sailed head-on and precisely docked alongside.
The Warren Pirate Crew's members set up planks between the two ships.

Warren, holding a flintlock pistol, led his crew members onto Leni's pirate ship with sinister smiles.
The Leni Pirate Crew's sailors were all terrified. When they encountered this powerful enemy, they chose to huddle on the ground, covering their heads and trembling all over.
Only Lena and Mina had the courage to face them.

"Description": A notorious pirate who roams the waters near Cannonfire Town and Laite Island. He is the last person merchants and fishermen want to see.
This personality had all the attributes of a bad guy.
His ship also had over twenty pirates with cruel smiles, all level fifteen or higher.
In contrast, Lena's sailors were all level ten and had fallen into a state of fear.
"I didn't expect the captain to be a girl!" Warren looked at Lena with disdain.
"Can't girls be pirates?"

As things stood, there were no other options.
Even if it meant death, Lena would never choose to serve a pirate.
"I challenge you to a duel, Warren! Do you dare to accept?"
Warren's laughter abruptly stopped, replaced by a surprised expression: "Did I hear that right? This little girl wants to challenge me to a duel!"
At his words, the Warren Pirate Crew's members all laughed.
Laughter echoed in their ears and in the live stream.
The audience in the live stream was indignant.
"Kill him, Leni Goddess!"
"Our Leni Goddess must not be defiled!"
"The target is approximately at 31.15, 134.33. Brothers, go support Leni Goddess!"
Such calls were a drop in the bucket, as very few players were in this sea area at the moment.
Lena said: "Are you scared? Scared to duel a girl?"
"Me, scared of you?"
"So, if you don't dare, then take your crew and get off my deck!"
Warren frowned: "Well, you little girl, I originally intended to make you my maid, but since you insist on seeking death, I will grant your wish. I accept your duel!"
