24 The Speech is a Bit Crazy

Subsequently, Conrad Heller led the Unreal Company team onto the red carpet and accepted interviews from reporters.

Reporters swarmed, surrounding Conrad Heller so tightly that not even a drop of water could leak through.

"Mr. Conrad Heller, are you confident in winning this year's Game of the Year award?"

"Who exactly is the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean, and will he appear today?"

"What game engine does your company use?"

"When will the new version be updated? Players from outside our region also want to join, but the current lag is too high, it's unbearable!"

It was Conrad Heller's first time appearing at such an important event, and he seemed a little nervous.

"I am confident, after all, our game has already sold fifteen million copies. We have been in continuous communication with the game producer, Illusory God, and we have provided a lot of feedback on game issues, which should be fixed in the future. The next version should expand the map and open up to outside regions, so everyone shouldn't worry."

"You still haven't mentioned the game engine!"

"Sorry, it's not convenient to disclose information about the engine."

Subsequently, Conrad Heller entered the inner venue escorted by a group of security personnel.

After entering the inner venue, Conrad Heller did not relax, because there were many big names in the gaming industry inside, all looking at him with covetous eyes.

Because he wasn't involved in gaming before, but in film and entertainment, these game developers looked at him a bit strangely.

Herr Voss's words were even more sarcastic: "Herr Heller, I heard you previously directed a movie called 'Eisenburg Fortress,' and the box office was abysmal."

Conrad Heller scratched his head: "Haha, those are all things of the past. A temporary failure doesn't mean perpetual failure."

As soon as he said this, he earned the approval of a few people.

However, Herr Voss seemed a bit aggressive: "Actually, the gaming industry is not as simple as you think. Perhaps you are successful now, but that doesn't mean you will continue to be successful in the future. Long-term effective operation is the hard truth."

Conrad Heller chuckled: "Herr Voss, you should worry about your company's issues. I think the sales of Kingdom Adventure could still be improved."

"You!" Herr Voss trembled with anger. In the past, at such gatherings of company leaders, he was always at the center, guiding his juniors as a senior. Today, a brash fellow showed up.

For Conrad Heller, seniors or not, he had played that game before, and no one came to save him in times of crisis, so he had grown indifferent to all that.

Herr Voss: "As a senior in the gaming industry, let me give you some guidance: don't be too arrogant."

"Your guidance isn't very useful to me. I think your children at home need guidance more than I do, rather than you guiding others outside."

Conrad Heller nodded slightly, giving a polite greeting, and then walked to his seat.

Herr Voss had a few dark lines on his head and sat down in his seat, feeling depressed.

He had previously checked Conrad Heller's information: no background, just a grassroots person from the countryside who later started a company with his saved money and then made a fortune.

But after making money, he suffered continuous losses, and eventually, several other companies he started all went bankrupt.

How did such a guy get the operating agency for Pirates of the Caribbean? This left Herr Voss completely baffled.

He glanced over at Conrad Heller's side, where many game producers were gathered, chatting and laughing with Conrad Heller.

In contrast, Herr Voss's side had far fewer people.

"Hmph, let's see how long you can be happy. This DGA Game Gala will definitely see our Moxing have the last laugh."

Herr Voss was still very confident, because since the release of Kingdom Adventure, he had funded DGA Games quite a bit.

No one would go against money, so if nothing unexpected happened, this grand prize was surely in his pocket.

At 7:30 PM, the DGA Game Gala officially opened.

As the lights dimmed, classic game masterpieces from over the years quickly flashed across the screen, each one widely popular, symbolizing the development of games.

The games finally stopped on the previous year, and this year, which games would win awards?

A 30-minute opening performance featured an orchestra performing a medley of the theme songs from the nominated games of the year.

"Good evening, global gamers! This is the 17th DGA Gala live—the Starlight Hall of the gaming world!"

A warm round of applause erupted from the audience.

"I am the host of this gala, Yvonne Ulrich."

"I am the host, Jeff."

Jeff and Yvonne Ulrich, one a Western male, the other a German female.

The two spoke eloquently on stage, making the atmosphere of the gala much more relaxed.

"Tonight, we will collectively witness the collision of creativity and technology, from the unique craftsmanship of indie studios to the epic productions of AAA developers. Every frame is a love letter from developers to players. A special greeting to the players in front of the screen, thank you for your votes!"

"Now we will unveil the list of winners!"

"First, for the Best Operated Game award nominations, please look at the big screen!"

The screen darkened again, displaying videos of five nominated games, which surprisingly included mini arena from GG Company, and brave adventure from Moxing Company.

Both of these games have been released for many years and are still operating well.

"The Best Operated Game award winner is, Moxing Company, brave adventure!"

A warm round of applause erupted from the audience.

"brave adventure, with its excellent operation, has made this game popular worldwide. The competitions held in recent years have attracted countless fans, and the recently concluded 6th Brave Cup competition achieved the highest global game viewership. The Best Operated Game award is well-deserved!"

Herr Voss adjusted his attire and walked onto the stage with a smile.

He calmly accepted the award.

"Thank you all for your support! I am very happy to receive this award. If I'm not mistaken, this is the third consecutive time we've won this award, which shows that our Moxing's operations are evident to all. Thank you to our company, and thank you to our team."

"Only excellent companies and excellent teams can operate sustainably for a long time, so the quality of a game is not solely judged by how popular its release was; the subsequent operational situation truly highlights a company's foundation."

"Our Moxing Company is such a company with a deep foundation. Kingdom Adventure was released not long ago, and its sales are steadily climbing. We promise that this game will also have strong operational support in the future."

At this point, he even glanced at Conrad Heller's position.

Conrad Heller was very calm about this; the camera swept over Conrad Heller, who smiled indifferently.

"Thank you to the DGA judges, your discernment is impeccable, and our winning this award is well-deserved, thank you!"

Herr Voss bowed and walked off the stage, full of vigor.

Viewers in the live stream left comments one after another.

"Too arrogant."

"Isn't this just the senior disciple?"

"This speech is quite interesting."

"Three consecutive years for the operational award, he's gotten carried away."

Host Jeff walked onto the stage: "Herr Voss's speech was impressive. Next up are the nominations for the Best Performance Award! Please look at the big screen!"
