Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Versus Parents

The Love Dragon family was a unique one. Due to the strength of Love, ultimately, it made its impact upon the world.

When one Love Dragon fell in love with another dragon, the Love Dragon could literally change the manner in which the other's Dragon Art was expressed.

Even an ordinary beam of light could become a "Love Beam," as peculiar as it sounded.

With the battle's start, the first to move was Raiden Zeus. He spun his halberd around, before swinging the bottom into the dirt, unleashing a blast of lightning which struck everyone present, with the exception of himself.

The blasts themselves weren't incredibly fast, but they were still quite a shock… no pun intended.

Arthur reeled, before letting go of his blade. Blood conducts electricity, so this in itself made his weapon nigh unwieldable.

"Ah~? Oh, sorry about that. I'll avoid using lightning from here on, then, as I do want to clash blades with you," Raiden said, looking at Arthur's unarmed position. So, he then turned towards Rachel's mother and father with a stupid grin.

Making up his mind, Raiden charged at them with his halberd, swinging the axe part of it at their heads. Elsa, Rachel's mom, evaded the attack by weaving, as Rachel's dad, Daniel, did the same.

Elsa countered with a stab from her spear, which penetrated Raiden's stomach. It wasn't enough to impale, but it would surely be a lethal—

Wham.

Swinging his fist to her cheek, Raiden let loose a right hook which sent the woman back a bit. He ripped the spear out of his own body, immediately healing the wound as Daniel formed a heart with his hands, poking his left eye through the hole and launching a beam of "love" which Raiden was forced to evade, lest his head be blown through.

The beam shot through the building and extended far out, before Raiden got closer and hit him with an uppercut to the jaw, knocking the beam out of movement, before he grabbed Daniel by the wrist and pulled him back.

"A nice house you've got!" Raiden yelled, spinning Daniel around and chucking him into it, causing several thousand dollars of furniture to break apart. Raiden rushed forward with his bare hands, as he'd left his halberd behind in order to unleash the right hook upon Elsa.

Elsa clicked her tongue, kicking a couch at him, which he vaulted over and continued his pursuit. He reeled his hand back in an obvious fashion, which Elsa took as a sign to jab. She let loose the jab, but Raiden used his left hand to parry it, getting extremely close, mitigating the force a straight might have, before unleashing an elbow to her head, cracking her in the skull.

Blood flew, as the elbow sliced open her brow, before Raiden grabbed her by the collar and spun her around, lifting her up and slamming her head directly into the wooden floor.

Daniel appeared, as Raiden was caught off guard due to his focus on Elsa, giving Raiden a good kick to the jaw with his heel. Using the momentum of his kick, he leapt off of Raiden's face and did a flip.

Before his feet touched the ground, another pair of feet landed. Those were Elsa's, and Daniel was on his head, to which he rolled and spun his body around, getting in a position similar to one a capoeira user might have.

Daniel unleashed a kick from down below, one which smacked into Raiden's ribs, knocking him into a wall before getting back up and rushing at him. Raiden himself guarded his face with his arms, as he was perplexed.

'The heck happened there? He was far away, his wife was close, but then…'

He couldn't think properly, as Daniel threw a combination of punches and elbows, all of which Raiden was occupied dealing with. The onslaught was getting to be too much for Raiden, as Daniel was proving to be a much more skilled and strong opponent than Raiden expected.

However, despite that, the dragon grinned.

'Ah, whatever, no need to worry! Just focus on the fight, and get stronger!'

Raiden's eyes widened as he began to think more clearly, able to respond to Daniel's attacks by either dodging when possible or blocking when necessary, and countering when he got the chance.

Eventually, Raiden was up against the wall, and he was beginning to be smacked around a fair amount. However, when Daniel made just one mistake, that being pausing to take a breath without gaining sufficient distance, Raiden was able to escape the wall, grabbing Daniel by the back and shoving him through it, ending up inside of a bedroom.

Raiden turned his attention to Elsa, as he began to rush at her. She put her hands up in a guard, standing pretty straight up. So, Raiden decided to go low, aiming for a takedown. However, when he did so, it was not Elsa whom he tackled, but rather—

"HUH!? How the fuck're you—"

Caught in sheer surprise, it was not the relatively-short-limbed woman he ended up with, but rather the man. Daniel took advantage of Raiden's surprise, putting him in a kimura and not waiting for the tap.

"Gyah, shit!" Raiden instinctively yelled, feeling his arm go beyond what it should, before his shoulder popped out of socket. Then, the man was replaced with the woman, as Elsa maintained hold of him while Daniel rushed over from behind, raising his foot and stomping on the back of Raiden's head.

'GAH! AH, SO THAT'S IT! SHE CAN SWAP PLACES WITH HI—KUH, AH, shit, this guy's giving it his all! But'cha oughta know you can't do this!'

Raiden smiled through the pain, before electricity began to build up within him. It was indeed a pretty good counter to this situation, as regardless of any swapping, one of them would still be on the ground with Raiden.

To protect her husband, Elsa refused to swap places, telling him to run. Daniel did as she instructed, and ran away, only for Elsa to release her submission on Raiden, opening her mouth and biting the air.

Then, just like that, Daniel was now in her grasp, with Raiden being the one who was far away. It was just in the nick of time, too, as his explosion of electricity destroyed the part of the house he was in in its entirety.

The husband and wife stood up, both remaining relatively unscathed despite being injured by the outward damage of the electrical explosion.

To which, Raiden snickered, standing up with his broken arm and shoulder, healing it immediately and wiping up sweat off of his face.

"Damn, I totally got outplayed there! I respect it, I respect it," Raiden said, grabbing ahold of his halberd which was implanted into the wall.

Daniel stepped forward. "Are you just going to face two unarmed people with such a weapon?" He asked.

Raiden scoffed and shook his head, planting his halberd into the ground for a moment.

"No way. I'm all for respect, but you had all the time in the world to prepare for a fight like this—can't complain about being unarmed if you never took the second amendment into consideration."

To which, Elsa went over to her husband, clinging to him and whispering something in his ear as she rubbed his chest up and down. His face went red for a moment, before he let out a laugh due to necessity.

"Well, if that's my reward, obviously I'll win," Daniel said with a smile. Raiden's face grimaced, as he sighed and shrug his shoulders.

"Jeez, way to rub in that I'm single."

His vision disappeared. No, that was just how it felt. In actuality, it just changed significantly, from being swapped.

"Huh?"

A swift and hard punch to the face was delivered to Raiden, his head flying down and smacking the floor with intensity, shattering the ground. He looked up, seeing Daniel with his boot over Raiden's face as it was then slammed down, breaking his nose with a pop.

"Owch!"

He rolled to avoid the next stomp, springing up with his hands before making the decision to jump up the stairs to reach the second floor.

'I've gotta think my butt off! If there's two of them, and they're constantly swapping, I need to ensure I can do what I did earlier, but with success! How can I do it, how can I grow, how can I get even stronger!?'

'There's grappling, but I can't grab more than one, there's no guarantee… If I hide in a room, one of them can always leave and swap out mineself for them, then it'll be null! Gosh, what a pain-in-the-butt ability!'

Then, he was given an idea. It was a simple idea, and not complex in the slightest.

The married couple rushed upstairs to see Raiden wielding his halberd and destroying their things. They were, naturally, infuriated, but didn't lose their heads. Daniel rushed in, so that Elsa could sit back and play defense.

However, when he entered the room, which belonged to their oldest daughter, Raiden backed away towards the window. Daniel pounced at him like a panther, bringing about clenched fists as he threw an extremely fast combo, throwing three punches in quick succession.

Raiden responded by mostly focusing on evasion, all the while, the sound of thunder from the skies continued to roar through the sky.

Raiden was caught off guard by a kick which was implanted on his liver, causing him to fall to his knees and hold his side. To which, Daniel grabbed his halberd, which Raiden had recklessly abandoned, swinging it at his head.

Then, the magic happened.

Raiden tried to evade, but ended up having his jaw severed off of his face with his own halberd, which was then implanted into the floor with force. Blood raved down his body, spilling all along the carpet and bed, as even Daniel was momentarily shocked at the sheer grossness of the scene.

He was now a walking corpse, his jaw no longer attached to his head as only his upper teeth remained.

Then, one final cough of laughter.

BOOM!

An explosion, never before produced by Raiden, shocked the whole house, leading to both husband and wife being burned inside and out via the sheer strength of the electric might.

The upper half of the house flew apart, raining down like hellfire upon the rest of the area, as the ground shattered beneath their feet, bringing all three dragons down to the first floor.

Raiden healed his wound, laughing and quite enthused that his "plan" worked.

His goal was to charge up lightning inside of himself discreetly, which had worked. He stood near the window to take up as much as he could from the storm outside, all while he faced Daniel.

Elsa couldn't see him, so she had no indication as to whether to swap or not. And Daniel himself saw that Raiden was unarmed, throwing away his halberd for a moment in order to not scare Daniel away.

The kick wasn't planned, but it was useful for making sure that Daniel stayed close enough to take the attack fully, as of the two, in terms of combat ability, he was the more dangerous foe.

The halberd taking his jaw off, likewise, was unplanned, but it was just as useful to Raiden as the kick was.

The scene left behind by the explosion was of destruction, and the husband and wife were both weak, having been shocked greatly by the lightning. Raiden took the halberd, lifting it up and swinging the axe part down onto Daniel's head, splitting it in half.

Blood spurted out, covering Raiden's face, before he quickly went over to Elsa, and beheaded her next. He'd made sure to do it quickly, as the both of them were temporarily paralyzed and he wanted them to be alive for as little as possible.

"Alrighty, next up… well, I just did some work for Arthur, so I'll go up against him next."

He smiled slightly and spun his halberd around, leaving behind the corpses of the ruined house.
