Yusei nodded in agreement.
"So, how should I find that person?"
"I will give you a talisman. It will guide you to the destined person. Within a certain range, this talisman will automatically seek that person out. You just need to follow it."
The old woman handed Yusei a talisman. He scanned it with his Sharingan and found it contained traces of the unique energy specific to this old woman.
He didn't overthink it and promptly put it away.
Afterwards, the three of them bid their farewells and left.
They retraced their path without any issues, let alone encountering any youkai.
Returning to the hotel in Hokkaido, which was owned by the Shinomiya Family, Kaguya finally let down her guard. Her instincts were sharp, and she had felt something was off about that mountain village but couldn't pinpoint what exactly was strange.
The three had dinner together. The next day, they boarded the arranged flight back to Tokyo.
The first thing Yusei did upon returning to Tokyo was naturally to return [Nameless].
Although he felt the sword was excellent, it was, after all, the Shinomiya Family's heirloom. It wasn't really appropriate for him to keep it.
Next, Yusei reported everything he had discovered to Koken in detail.
For instance, the strange feeling about that village, and why the old woman suddenly wanted to find a successor in Tokyo.
Generally, successors for Miko are trained from childhood by their side.
The old woman's claim was about finding a 'destined person'. Whether that was true or false, and whether it involved the willing consent of the person in question, Yusei didn't know.
After listening, Koken nodded slightly. He neither agreed nor refused, simply leaving a single statement.
"Follow your own conscience. Do what you believe is right."
The implication was that Yusei should handle it himself. The Shinomiya Family's influence would provide assistance, but the final decision of whether to send the 'destined person' or not was up to Yusei.
Even if he chose to ignore Haruko, it would be fine.
A look of helplessness crossed Yusei's face.
'It seemed this matter had nothing to do with me from the start. I was just helping out. How did I become the one primarily responsible now?'
Shaking his head, Yusei decided not to dwell on it and kept the talisman with him.
'Whatever. That old woman was probably full of lies. First, she used some method to make herself appear normal, but under the Sharingan's observation, her whole body was like transparent crystal.'
'Second, she claimed to have a method to solve the problem faced by the destined person. What problem? Most likely the issue of their body becoming transparent, right?'
Ultimately, Yusei had already guessed it. The so-called 'destined person' was probably someone with the ability to control the weather.
'If she couldn't even solve her own transparency issue, how could she help others solve it? This was clearly very abnormal.'
'However, it couldn't be ruled out that she truly had a method, just couldn't use it on herself.'
But, this had little to do with Yusei. All he had to do was continue with his own life.
As for that 'destined person'... if fate really brought them together, then he would broach the subject. If not, then so be it.
If Koken wasn't in a hurry, why should he be?
Yusei and Kaguya had both been absent from school for the past two days, which inevitably made Asuna a little worried.
She wasn't worried that Kaguya and Yusei were off having a romantic getaway together. She was worried about their safety.
Yusei and Kaguya had both been honest with her. They were carrying out a task assigned by Koken, which is both Yusei's master and Kaguya's grandfather.
Asuna knew this, so she wasn't worried about her best friend and boyfriend eloping… she was just concerned for their safety.
However, she breathed a sigh of relief last night after Yusei returned home and called her to say he was safe.
Asuna had been very happy recently. Even though she was still in school, Yusei was by her side, along with Yui, who followed her every day even if others couldn't see her.
She felt very blessed, as if she truly had a family.
Today, knowing Yusei would be attending class, Asuna got up early and went to the kitchen with Yui.
After preparing breakfast for Yui, she asked her cheerfully,
"What do you think your Papa likes to eat?"
Yui, although a spirit, could eat if she wanted to... or not eat.
She thought for a moment and said excitedly, "Chicken rolls?"
"I think that's what you like to eat, isn't it?"
"If Yui likes it, Papa will definitely like it too."
Asuna smiled and patted Yui's little head, then went to prepare today's lunch boxes.
She made plenty, naturally including a portion for Kaguya.
When she arrived at school, she found Yusei was already there. However, he seemed to be writing something, so she quietly approached without disturbing him.
But Yui rushed ahead and threw herself into Yusei's arms.
"Papa!"
Yui snuggled affectionately in Yusei's arms. Of course, this made Yusei notice that Asuna, wearing her school uniform, had arrived in the classroom.
His desk mate on the right was originally Megumi, and now he had gained another desk mate on his left… Asuna.
As for Kaguya... She was quite frustrated.
She had wanted to sit in Megumi's seat, but then she thought, she was just a 'friend'. What would it mean if she insisted on sitting next to her best friend's boyfriend? Wouldn't that be exposing her own feelings?
So, Kaguya could only sit next to Asuna.
They were considered desk mates, but there was actually an aisle between them. They weren't right next to each other.
'At least there are no other 'vixens' getting close to Yusei now,' Kaguya thought.
Others couldn't see Yui, but Kaguya could. She was one of the few people who had the 'permission' to see Yui.
Kaguya felt a sour feeling in her heart, watching the harmonious family of three. She decided to ignore it, burying her head in a book to avoid the sight.
Asuna chuckled and picked Yui up, letting her sit on her lap. She looked at Yusei and said, "Good morning, Yusei-kun."
"Are we still saying such formalities after being an old married couple?" Yusei teased Asuna.
Asuna's face reddened, but she nodded slightly. She then looked at the paper on Yusei's desk.
"What were you writing just now?"
"Nothing much, just drawing a manga. I think I mentioned it to you before. I submitted a manga... it's doing okay. Right now, I'm catching up on the chapters I missed while I was in SAO."
