"You've already caused enough trouble here, Damien," Noah said firmly. "I suggest you calm down before you embarrass yourself further."
Damien laughed bitterly, pacing the small space. "Calm down? Do you think I can calm down? My wife, Noah. My wife is with you. Tell me why she's with you! Hiding someone's wife? That's low. Even for you Noah."
Noah's jaw tightened, his voice firm. "She's safe. That's all you need to know. And it will stay that way, regardless of what you think you're entitled to."
Damien's hands clenched into fists. "Entitled? She's my wife! I've loved, protected, and provided for her. You don't.." His words cut off as he took a step closer, his eyes burning with fury.
"You don't protect anyone by hurting them," Noah said, his voice angry and shaking.
"I know what you do to her, Damien. Hitting her? taking her against her will? Are you even a man? You disgust me."
Noah continued "Let me make this clear. You lost your right as her husband the moment you put her in danger. She's free, Damien. And I'll make sure you never have the chance to hurt her again. I promised to stay away, but I take it back. I will fight for her, with everything I have. I will fight for her freedom and for her happiness."
"This isn't over," Damien said, taking a step back but keeping his eyes locked on Noah. "She's my wife. And I will find a way to get her back. She loves me Noah, and I love her. You are the third party here, ruining our marriage."
"No," Noah interrupted sharply. "You will not touch her again. If you try, you'll find me waiting. And let me tell you Damien, if it happens again, I won't go easy on you. I'll make you pay."
