There was a pause around the table. Noah's eyes flickered in surprise, though he masked it quickly with a supportive nod. Hazel, sitting beside her, reached out and squeezed her hand, a quiet gesture of support.
Jossy continued, "I want to thank you Mr. and Mrs. Lennox for hosting me these past three months. You made me feel safe when I had nowhere to turn. Your family will always have my gratitude."
Mrs. Lennox smiled warmly. "Our door will always be open for you dear Jossy. You're part of this family now."
Later, Noah pulled her aside, guiding her gently toward the balcony. "I wanted to talk to you about work," he began. "You don't have to leave Lennox Corp entirely. You can continue your role as a digital marketing supervisor remotely, and, if and when you come back to LA, you can work onsite, hybrid, or still remotely. Whatever works best for you."
Jossy's face lit up. Relief and excitement mingled as she realized she wouldn't have to give up the job she loved. "I can keep my job?" she asked, almost in disbelief. Noah was letting her eat her cake and have it. She wouldn't have to worry about income or finding a job in Alpine.
"Yes," Noah said. "And to make sure you feel completely safe, Please allow me to assign a security guard for you. I just want you to have peace of mind. The Rothwells might still try something, and I don't want you caught off guard."
