Jossy hesitated, thinking of her freedom that she had just earned. "As long as he doesn't interfere with my life," she said softly.
"No interference. I promise," Noah replied, his tone gentle but firm.
She exhaled, a mixture of gratitude and relief flooding her. "Thank you for being there for me, Noah. I really needed a friend like you to get through all of this."
Noah offered a small smile, his eyes lingering on her with unhiddable love and care "You've earned your peace, Jossy. And I'll do whatever I can to make sure you keep it. I'll be here if you need me. I'm happy to continue being your 911." He laughed out loud as he joked. Jossy knew he meant it.
The following day, at the airport, the air was full of emotions as Jossy clutched her luggage tightly while Hazel and Noah stood beside her, offering hugs that lingered just a moment too long. Tears streamed down her face as she whispered, "Thank you guys for everything. I don't know what I would have done without you. I wouldn't have found the courage to do this."
Hazel stroked her hair gently. "You'll be okay, Jossy. You're stronger than you think."
Noah's hand rested briefly on her shoulder. "Take care of yourself," he said quietly. "Remember, we are just a call away."
Jossy broke away reluctantly, giving them one last glance before moving toward the boarding area. Each step seemed heavier than the last, her tears threatening to come out. Hazel and Noah watched her go, their hearts pulled in different directions.
Once she disappeared from sight, Hazel turned to Noah, raising an eyebrow. "I thought you would fight for her after Damien. She's now divorced, and free. This, this should be your moment."
