He could only seize the remaining time to seek help from Rowena Ravenclaw — as the Head of Ravenclaw, Professor Flitwick could see that the node of his magic operation had changed, and perhaps the founder of Ravenclaw College had the ability to help him correct the anomaly in the Patronus Charm.
"Of course, no problem."
Rowena Ravenclaw agreed readily, without Helena needing to whisper in her ear. She knew Ian had not yet gained the ability to cast spells without a magic wand and thoughtfully transformed a magic wand for Ian.
"The power of cognition?"
Ian looked at the magic wand handed to him. It was no different from the one Teacher Morgan had conjured, except one used a picture frame and the other used a roadside stone.
"Who taught you that?"
Rowena Ravenclaw raised an eyebrow in surprise. Helena, beside her, tried to replicate her mother's actions but found it as impossible as Ian's attempt at casting spells bare-handed.
"My other teacher, Lady Morgan." Ian answered honestly with a grin. He had always hoped Morgan would have a chance to spar with Ravenclaw.
But Rowena Ravenclaw clearly had no interest in competing.
"You certainly do know how to choose guiding teachers for yourself."
She merely remarked with surprise in her tone.
"I guess I've always been lucky." Ian familiarized himself with the wand, feeling the little time left, and raised his hand to cast the Patronus Charm.
"Expecto Patronum!"
From the wand in his hand, countless strands of brilliant silver light burst forth, like the most dazzling meteor shower in the night sky, weaving a flowing silver tapestry among the volcanoes.
It was not only warm.
Even the surrounding scorching temperature dropped significantly.
"Truly spectacular!" Helena looked at the spreading silver light with amazement, never having seen anyone perform this magic for several minutes without summoning a Patronus.
Rowena Ravenclaw watched Ian's spellcasting, unsurprised, just raised an eyebrow slightly, "Increasing your magic power limit seems to provide yet another solution for you."
Saying this.
Rowena Ravenclaw waved her hand, and Ian's Patronus Charm immediately quieted down, all the silver light surging back into the wand in Ian's hand.
"What kind of technique is this?"
Ian was astonished at Rowena Ravenclaw's manipulation.
"Overlaying my cognition with yours."
Rowena Ravenclaw succinctly explained her actions. She glanced at Ian's pocket holding the Resurrection Stone Ring and, after a moment of contemplation, spoke with some uncertainty.
"Given the magic power you possess now, it's naturally impossible to summon an entire world across the boundary of life and death, but if you can anchor a specific target... you could cleverly release an incomplete Patronus Charm." Rowena Ravenclaw indeed found a feasible way for Ian.
"Using the Resurrection Stone?"
Ian took out the ring again.
"It's to imitate a Resurrection Stone." Rowena Ravenclaw picked up a stone, placing it in Ian's hand under his somewhat bewildered gaze.
"You might need to seek help from an Alchemy Master, but I suppose that shouldn't be difficult for the current headmaster of the school. He once brought an Alchemy Master to roam Hogwarts... they visited my portrait." Rowena Ravenclaw's words made Ian's eyes widen in surprise after a brief moment of daze.
"You know about these events in the Human World too?" Ian remembered Rowena Ravenclaw could look up at the sky and learn about the human years, realizing the portraits hanging in the corridors might not be just portraits.
They are a pair of "eyes"!
"Wow! Cheating! So you cheat too!" Ian indeed displayed characteristics of Gryffindor, his exclamation nearly identical to that of Gryffindor's portrait.
"Even though saying this might seem self-serving, I still hope you understand, life and death are eternal subjects that every slightly talented wizard in history has researched."
"And among the outstanding ones, always find different ways to maintain a means to observe the human world even after leaving it."
"This is different from seeking immortality, it's merely born from our curiosity." Rowena Ravenclaw's pride wasn't evident in her tone or expression. Her offhand comments seemed like discussing the most ordinary matters, but clearly, no one could deny her qualification to be called outstanding in the annals of history.
"Can such things really be imitated?"
Ian raised the Resurrection Stone Ring in his hand again, remembering Old Deng who sold the magic wand saying his wand was an imitation of the Elder Wand, yet who knows if the person actually had direct contact with the Elder Wand.
Look at these alchemical symbols.
Look at these bizarre patterns.
They were no different from alien text. Primarily, it's certainly challenging to find books available for study, and translating from scratch to nothing isn't an easy task.
"You don't need to fully understand it; you just need to find that little piece of rune you want." Rowena Ravenclaw noticed the Little Wizard's body gradually becoming transparent.
Her calm expression contrasted sharply with Helena, who covered her mouth in surprise. While the mother and daughter might look similar, there was clearly a vast difference in their ability to remain unflustered.
"Remember not to use Death's items lightly... they bring inauspiciousness." Rowena Ravenclaw reiterated and emphasized before Ian vanished completely.
Ian made an OK gesture.
"Thank you for your help."
He bowed slightly with sincerity.
"We are the ones who should express gratitude. May you eventually fly safely to the destination you desire, Little Raven." Rowena Ravenclaw bowed gently with her daughter.
Once Ian's figure disappeared entirely.
"Mother, should we proceed forward?" Helena recalled Rowena Ravenclaw previously mentioning this was the edge of the Misty Illusion Realm, beyond which lies a new journey.
Her voice carried some apprehension and tension, just as Rowena Ravenclaw said, that the soul of this millennium-old ghost indeed lacked the courage to face the unknown.
"I'm afraid we must wait a bit longer, my child... I must complete what I need to do." Rowena Ravenclaw took out the crown that had regained its color and luster.
"This will take some time; I need to use this place to reforge it." Rowena Ravenclaw looked towards the tallest volcano and its spewing lava in the distance.
Helena looked at the crown that once caused her lost sorrow; now, she showed no longing or greed, only a trace of concern and apprehension.
"Didn't you just say this place belongs to a great being who defeated death? I think such a God wouldn't allow us to use Their domain at will?"
Helena's concern wasn't without reason.
However.
Rowena Ravenclaw chuckled lightly.
"I suppose this is exactly what that fellow devised for me to do."
She fiddled with the gemstones inlaid on the crown, as if adjusting their arrangement.
"Ah? Have you already interacted with the gods of the Land of Death?" Helena's expression was very shocked, her tone filled with unimaginable astonishment.
"Dear, fate wouldn't easily bring you back to my side; this should be a tale of many, many years later, but someone has rewritten this future for us." Rowena Ravenclaw softly spoke amidst Helena's dazed, shocked, and bewildered expression changes.
"Did you strike a deal with the gods?"
Helena's voice trembled slightly, filled with fear.
"Death made a deal with the Three Brothers; He also made a deal with us three, forging the crown for Him was the price, but I think this isn't a bad thing."
"Your arrival at least demonstrates His mercy."
Rowena Ravenclaw's whispered words carried a sense of reflection.
"Little Ian!!"
Helena seemed to grasp something, suddenly covering her mouth, her eyes becoming horrified, and her whole body seemingly trembling.
"Yes, my child, you've already met Him, quite agreeable... isn't He." Rowena Ravenclaw caressed Helena's forehead, wiping away the ash-stained marks with her hand. Her gentle reply resonated in the Land of Death enveloped by volcanoes.
No one answered.
