I went to bed early. I couldn't eat anything, and my mind was still plastered on Kael. Where was he? What was he doing? Was he trying to find a way to come back? Fucking hell!
I had so many questions, and the one person who could give me an answer was nowhere near to answer them.
I woke up to the soft knocking on my door.
The sun had barely risen; for a moment, I didn't move. I just lay there, staring at the ceiling.
Another knock followed. "Your Highness, Lord Varyn requests your presence for breakfast."
Of course he did. I wasn't surprised at all.
I sat up slowly, brushing a hand over my face before swinging my legs over the side of the bed.
My maid helped me into a light blue dress. It was a simple but elegant dress, then she left without another word. I stared at my reflection a second too long. My eyes looked tired and dull.
