Chapter 10 - CHAPTER TEN | VYRARTH

There's nothing better than the warm sun after a long night, it gave the same impact when the arrogant, mighty, fearless knights ran for life. The fall of the council will be remembered forever no matter if we catch the wizard or not. The east council will no longer be threatened, the men gathered around the west and the head council wouldn't do anything foolish without the Wizard. Now that we recaptured the East, they would be more cautious and that would lend us enough time to capture the wizard. At Least that's what we thought when we departed from the East.

"Be careful out there," Ughar warned me. "The men say there are a lot of Wyrms in the south sea."

"I know," I said as I passed him the explosives.

We were dividing our explosives we got in our ship into two as we used the prior's to trap the dwarves in their mines.

"And get to head council as soon as you get the wizard."

"I will, is your brother going to be here?"

"No, I asked him to stay there."

"Better," Ughar was the one of few who possessed sense among us. He was like a brother to me, something the two failed at. "See you then."

He nodded, and left to check on the orcs who started to gather near the mines. I headed back to the ship, it was ready to be sailed, the goblins made most of the crew and a small army of orcs and a few hammers and cleavers.

We fished the whole south sea, we stopped at every single piece of land be it a small island or a tiny islet, we checked them all. I spotted a small bird through the long barrel spyglass, when a fool screamed behind me. I quickly drew the blade and reached for the throat just to realise it was Zarm sitting on a pole.

"Did I scare you brother?" Zarm said in his smoothing voice.

"When did you arrive?"

"Morning, I thought about surprising Ughar and then heard you are heading for the wizard."

 "Does Ughar know yet?"

"He must notice the ship by now," he stepped down and held his hand high.

The hawk landed on his fingers and pulled him away, he danced a little and managed to not fall.

"It's for me," I said but he already started untying the capsule. He pulled the parchment out and read it in silence.

"What does it say?"

"Wyrm, wyrm," someone screamed in the distance, he quickly got distracted and went to peek from the deck. The water was dark, it was under us, it was following us, it was hunting us.

"Get the explosives," the orcs and goblins ran in all directions. "Move away, turn the rudder."

It was already late, we had disturbed the monster, the ship went down along with the water, the Wyrm rose above us, its scales like blades tore through the water, it opened its wide mouth and caught the sail. Water filled the void around us, the Wyrm hit the surface, we were all inside the sea for a breath before the ship popped again to the surface. The ship was a big bucket, there was water everywhere, the orcs dragged the wet explosives.

"Drop them all and get the blades," I went to a different mast and pulled down the sail. The orcs ran to get the blades, the goblins dropped the black powders into the sea. The monster rose again, I took a leap and planted the blade within its scales, blood leaked from it as I travelled along, the orcs started to do the same, I pulled the dagger from my boot and planted it the same. We hit the surface, water smashed against us, I tore a part of its flesh while trying to hold up. It slithered its body and moved away within a few breaths leaving behind a pool of blood. Ropes were dropped from the surface, we pulled them and climbed back to the ship. We were all covered in blood, we laid down on the deck with half our body still under water. The goblins brought some buckets to fetch and pour them back into the sea. I saw the orc-elf sitting against the broken mast.

"What did it say," I said.

He took a breath and wiped his nose, "We lost the west council."
