Chapter 17 - CHAPTER SEVENTEEN | HARTH

The depth of undermines sheltered us for sixteen nights as predicted by the old dwarf. Most of the activities went as normal, there was no famine for food or water, the food was cooked in the common kitchen, we shared the beds and all. But this wasn't the same for everyone, people around me were insanely disturbed by my existence. The good side is it earned me the solitude that I have always felt comfortable with.

The seventeenth day the orcs left the land. The gnomes wanted to leave immediately. Even though they got accustomed to the dwarves' life, they couldn't quite adapt to the heat and ground water. Fyena joined them and insisted on leaving as early as possible.

Dorm, the friend of the late emperor, and son of the current leader the dwarves decided, volunteered to take us out, not because of our concern, but to get rid of us. And then the next problem arose, where would we go? There was a battle in head council, the west was unwelcoming, so the only option was to follow Fyena to the elves' land. The gnomes were immediately excited to hear about that. So the next problem was that the elves' land was also in the north, so we had to sail all the way around the Dwarves' land, which required a bigger ship and more days.

Luckily, Dorm was so dedicated to getting us out. Turns out there was a rail route that would take us to the north without getting to land, and there were trees enough to make a ship. He convinced four of his friends to come with us with tools to chop the woods and build the ship. Fyena clearly didn't like the idea, but Dorm insisted.

So the very next morning after we buried the left dead and their pending ceremonies, we boarded the trams. I as usual sat at the middle the dwarves sat behind us which had the control, Fyena chose the first team with the other dwarf. Then the gnomes joined me in the middle. The team started like a smooth butter, the oily wheels just carried us like a boat. We were moving through the purple mine supported by wooden frames, it just went on and on until Fyena turned.

"Can't we go faster," she said in a slightly aggressive tone of hers sure.

But the dwarf didn't react, I turned back to see a big sneaky smile on his face and his friends. I turned back just to notice the track just stopped. We just fell, from a leaf to an iron ball, straight down the slope.
