Chapter 17 - THE PLAN ON SEREH

Keal entered the classroom, scanning the room for an empty seat. The teacher, a middle-aged man with a kind face, nodded at him. "Ah, you must be the new student. Welcome to our class. Please, take a seat beside Geo."

Keal nodded, making his way to the designated seat. Geo, a boy with messy brown hair and thick-rimmed glasses, looked up from his book, eyeing Keal briefly before returning to his reading. Keal noticed the title of the book - "Advanced Magical Theories" - and raised an eyebrow, impressed.

The teacher, Mr. Thompson, continued the lesson, explaining complex magical theories that left Keal's head spinning. He glanced at Geo, who was scribbling notes in the margins of his book, completely absorbed in the material. Keal watched in fascination as Geo's eyes darted back and forth, his hand moving rapidly as he took notes.

As the class ended, the students packed up their belongings, chatting and laughing. Keal stood, stretching his legs, when a group of girls approached him.

"Hi, I'm Lila," one of them said, batting her eyelashes. "Welcome to our class. You're really handsome... and those eyes are amazing!"

Keal's cheeks warmed slightly as he smiled, trying to be polite. "Thanks, I'm Keal."

The girls giggled, asking him questions about his background and interests. Keal answered patiently, Geo watching the exchange from afar, still reading his book.

Just as the conversation was getting more intense, Jinny, a girl with a haughty expression, sauntered over. "So, you're the new student," she said, her voice dripping with condescension. "I heard you're from Weton. How... quaint." has she said flinging her blue hair.

Keal's eyes narrowed, recognizing the jab. "And I heard you're from the Eastern Kingdom. How... predictable."

Jinny's face turned red with anger, but before she could retort, Zack appeared beside Keal. "Hey, Jinny, I see you're being your usual charming self."

Jinny's expression soured, but she maintained her haughty tone. "Zack, I was just... introducing myself to the new student."

Zack's grin never wavered. "Save it, Jinny. Keal's with me. Let's go, Keal."

Keal nodded, following Zack out of the classroom. As they walked, Zack whispered, "Sorry about Jinny. She's... well, you get the idea."

Keal smirked. "No worries. I've dealt with worse."

Zack laughed, clapping Keal on the back. "I'm sure you have. How's your day going so far?"

Keal shrugged. "It's been... interesting. I met Geo, and he's... unique."

Keal nodded, intrigued. "I'll try to get to know him better."

Zack grinned. "Good luck with that. Hey, I have to run, but I'll catch up with you later, okay?"

Keal nodded, and Zack hurried off, leaving Keal to navigate the unfamiliar hallways. As he walked, Keal noticed the looks he was getting from other students - some curious, some hostile. He wondered what lay ahead, but he was ready for it.

Keal finally found his way to the cafeteria, where he spotted June and Ron sitting at a table. He joined them, grateful for some familiar faces.

"Hey, guys," Keal said, sitting down. "How's it going?"

June smiled. "It's been... interesting. We heard Jinny gave you a hard time."

Keal rolled his eyes. "Yeah, she's... something else."

Ron chuckled. "Don't worry about her. She's just mad because her father's kingdom is losing the war."

Keal's eyes narrowed. "Yeah, I've heard rumors about that. Do you think it's true?"

June leaned in. "We don't know, but we'll find out soon enough."

The three of them sat in silence for a moment, eating their lunch and thinking about the mysteries that lay ahead.

Keal, June, and Ron sat together in the lunchroom, trying to discuss the murder investigation, but Keal's mind kept wandering. He was aware of the girls staring at their table, whispering to each other. June, the imperial prince, seemed oblivious to the attention, but Ron was smirking, enjoying the fuss.

"So, what's the latest on the investigation?" June asked, taking a bite of his sandwich.

Keal shrugged. "Not much, really. Just that July's definitely dead, and we're not sure who did it."

Ron leaned in. "I think it might be connected to the war between Weton and the Eastern Kingdom."

Just then, Jinny approached their table, accompanied by Yon, July's boyfriend. Jinny's expression was tense, and Yon looked devastated. "Hey, have you guys seen July my best friend?" Jinny asked June, her tone dripping with concern.

"By the way why are u with this fools June" Jinny said with re face filled with disdain

June replied "First of all they re my friends not fools and..."Keal, June, and Ron exchanged nervous glances. They knew July was dead, but they couldn't very well say that to Jinny and Yon, given the war between their kingdoms. "Uh, no," Keal said finally. "We think she went out of town or something."

Yon who had stood silently since finally talked "How do u know June u newbie"

June then nervously said "He is Zack friends and then we became friends"

Then Jinny replied with a raised voice" When did u and Zack the clown become friends"

June the replied back " Haven't you guys already know what u are hear for pls we were talking about something pls be going "

Jinny's expression turned hostile, but Yon just looked lost, his eyes red from crying. As nobles, Jinny and Yon had chosen the Magnus path, like most of their peers. Since basiclly all nobles CHOSEN BY THE SYSTEM pick magnus path and use memory orb to pass knowledge to themselve unlike commoners who needs read books to know an information like Geo.

Saye, one of June's friends, approached the table with her red hair and her physique launching into a long, rambling story about her morning classes. "OMG, you guys, I had the craziest Magical History class today! Professor Mbeki was talking about the ancient rituals, and I swear, I felt the energy in the room shift! I was thinking, what if we could harness the power of the lunar cycle to amplify our magic? I mean ... Oh Jinny. immediately Jinny replied "We were just living" then she replied back "Then be fast about it" They both looked at each other with hate in their eyes.

Then after Jinny and Yon left.

June whispered "save me" to Keal and Ron, rolling his eyes in exasperation.

Saye continued, barely pausing for breath. "And then, I had the most brilliant idea for a new spell! I was thinking, what if we could create a spell that would allow us to communicate with animals? Can you imagine it? We could be like, animal whisperers or something!"As Saye dominated the conversation, nobody could leave because her father is the head general of the imperial kindgom. thanks to June keal knows most of the nobles due to seeing a died imperial princess next to him he was quiet lucky that Zack and the rest where there.

30 MINUTE LATER

Keal noticed Zack walking by, trying to slip past unnoticed. Ron, however, wasn't having it. "Hey, Zack!" he called out. "You know Saye, right?"

Saye's ears perked up, and she turned to Zack, a huge grin spreading across her face. "Zack! Oh my god, I've been looking for you everywhere! I need to talk to you about the Spring Fling cause you know how to party."

Althought Zack love party he could not be in the same party has Saye.

Zack, caught off guard, tried to pretend he hadn't heard her, quickly turning to leave. But Saye wasn't having it. She started shouting his name, her voice echoing across the lunchroom. "ZACK! ZACK, WAIT UP! DON'T IGNORE ME, ZACK!"

Zack turned, still walking, and shouted back, "I'M BUSY, SAYE! CAN'T TALK NOW!"

As he turned, he bumped into Sereh, Veltric's girlfriend, standing right behind him. Sereh's eyes narrowed, but Zack just glared at her, his expression cold.
