He then looked up and lunged forward.
He cut off the wolf's legs, and the wolf lost its balance.
Blood was splattered everywhere.
His hands were red.
"Give me your gun."
Si-Hun asks a shooter for his gun and shoots the wolf on the head.
The gunshot's noise echoes in the dungeon after hitting everyone's ears.
Everyone flinched.
The wolf dies right there.
The two men who were watching everything were moved.
"He has something going." One of them whispered to the other.
"Our doubt was right."
Kuro was standing there, surprised at his master's boldness.
Si-Hun blew the top of the gun, and the gunpowder lingered in the air.
The wolf was a high-ranking monster, dominating the predator's capabilities.
Si-Hun threw the gun at the shooter, signaling him to catch it.
Everyone was looking at him in disbelief.
Si-Hun walked out of the chamber and exited the portal before anyone else.
"Light work, no reaction," Kuro said to Si-Hun.
Si-Hun stayed quiet.
"You should be proud of such a dominant victory," Kuro said.
"There's still more to learn."
"Aishhh, you are so annoying.''
"You dominate in that one."
"Whatever." Kuro blurted, making a silly face.
"I want to go to the hills to relax," Si-Hun said.
"Okay. Let's go."
They both went to the hills.
Si-Hun took Kuro to the place where he used to sit and relax, his favorite spot.
Both sat at the bench, the cold breeze past brushing their skins, sending chills down their spine.
"It's getting chilly day by day."
"Then why don't you wear a sweater?"
"I don't want to. I don't like it."
"I will make sure you do from now on!"
"You're not my mo-
He stopped, because he knew that what he was going to say wasn't true.
His mom never cared, so it would be a lie to tell.
Kuro noticed the change in his expression, how he hid something with a smile.
He didn't say anything, though.
Si-Hun leaned back, the cold bench touching his warm back.
He looked at the stars like he was finding something in them.
For a moment, everything felt still.
Like the world vanished behind him.
Kuro was observing his master.
He was captivated by the calm.
After sitting for a while, they both went home.
Si-Hun was starting to care for Kuro like he did for his younger brother.
He was grateful, to have a companion as pure as Kuro.
Kuro reminded him of Ji-Ho, childish, pure, too innocent for this world.
A few weeks passed like this, killing monsters, going to the hills, and having soju late at night.
Si-Hun was adapting to the rhythm.
There wasn't much peace, but he could make his own.
Si-Hun loved the stars.
He loved the way they shone in the sky, filled with darkness.
How they carried light within themselves, bright in the dark night sky.
The world around him was also like this.
Dark and evil, but he could shine alone.
Si-Hun had saved enough money to rent a small but clean apartment.
He was looking for apartments with Kuro online.
They were viewing a small apartment.
The apartment was very cozy, and Kuro loved it.
"Master!! Let's take this one nahh!"
"Nah. There can be better ones."
"Please! I'm also living with you."
"I know."
"So you should also consider my opinion!"
"Kuro, there must be better ones!"
But Kuro wasn't budging.
He was stuck on this one apartment, and honestly, this was a nice one.
But Si-Hun wanted to know if there were better ones they could be missing.
Kuro was constantly bugging him.
Si-Hun finally gave in.
"FINE!"
"Wait-really!?"
"Shut up!"
He appointed tomorrow's visit to check it out in real.
Kuro jumped with joy.
He wasn't supposed to feel happiness this deep.
Too much attachment could lead to deeper grief when separated.
Si-Hun still hadn't told his parents about him moving out, but he knew they would be relieved.
But as for one person, Ji-Ho, he would be very sad.
"I haven't broken the news to my parents. But more than that, I'm worried about how Ji-Ho will react." Si-Hun said, sighing.
He went downstairs to tell his parents.
They were in the living room.
"Mom, Dad, I'm…moving out."
