So many days has passed and Lu Jingyan is finally getting people to love her through her cookings.
Matriarch Leng is proud of her also Yumo and Xuanmo. As she took care of the daily necessities of the house. She was in charge of every delicacies on the house and she also went to the market herself to over looked the ingredients and make sure there isn't any problem with the allergies.
On Saturday morning. Lu Jingyan was ready to go to the kitchen to make breakfast
"Sister in law. Can you make some butter free scones?" Leng Yumo asked
"You want to eat scones?" Lu Jingyan asked
"Yes. Can you bake them?" Madam Leng asked
"Yes. I used to bake scones back at home" Lu Jingyan said
"Yumo. Why don't we order? Lu Jingyan sure do know how to make butter scones back at home" Leng Meixuan said pretending to care
"Momo. I really can make scones and I can make butter free scones really well also" Lu Jingyan said
"Really?" Leng Yumo asked "no harms done then. We would wait in the garden for the tea and scones"
"Alright. Wait for me and I will bring the scones over" Lu Jingyan said as she made her way to the kitchen
The early morning light poured gently through the kitchen window of the Leng Manor, casting a golden hue across the marble countertop. Lu Jingyan rolled up her sleeves, tying her apron with practiced ease. The silence of the mansion gave her a rare moment of calm, and baking had always helped settle her nerves.
She had asked the servants to give her space so she could concentrate on making the scones perfectly and not make any mistakes
She glanced at the old recipe card, her fingers brushing over the word "butter."
"Not this time," she murmured, reaching instead for the chilled coconut oil she had asked a maid to prepared earlier.
Into the mixing bowl went the flour a mix of almond and oat followed by a pinch of salt and a touch of baking powder. She carefully cut the solid coconut oil into the flour, her hands working quickly until the mixture resembled coarse crumbs.
Next, she added honey, a drizzle of almond milk, and a handful of chopped dried cranberries. She stirred gently, folding the dough just enough.
Kneeling over the tray, she shaped the scones, her movements thoughtful. "Yumo's allergic to butter… this should be safe," she whispered to herself, wiping her hands on the apron.
Once placed in the oven, the kitchen filled with a warm, nutty aroma. Lu Jingyan exhaled softly, unaware of the storm to come.
"I am sure Yumo would like this" she said. As she set the timer of the oven and she made her way out of the kitchen
Lu Jingyan walked back into the kitchen after 18 minutes to bring the scones out of the oven. She placed them neatly into the plates and placed it on a tray.
She boiled some water and made tea for the whole family she served the tea into each cups and she placed Xuanmo's plate and tea into a separate tray.
"Butler Lei. Please go give this to Xuanmo" she said
"Yes young missus" the butler replied as she ordered a maid to pick it up. The other maids picked the remaining ones as they head to the garden to serve the scones and tea to the family.
"Young missus. You scones smells so delicious" a maid said
"Thank you. They're some in the kitchen split it amongst yourselves" Lu Jingyan said
"Thank you, young missus" the maids said as they entered the garden
