After few minutes of waiting at the restaurant, Ariana saw Yvonne walk in.
She raised her hand in the air to let her friend know where she was sitting. "Good morning" Yvoone said while taking her seat beside Ariana.
"Good morning" Ariana responded.
"You don't look happy. What's wrong?" Yvonne asked seeing the sad look on her friend's face.
"At little father-daughter drama. That's all. How are you?" Ariana shifted the topic.
"Oh I'm good" Yvonne said before waving at the waiter to come take their order.
"So now you rejected being my sister's assistant, what are you going to do? Does it mean you don't have a job now or you'd be able to work in one of the departments at the company?" Ariana asked, genuinely concerned.
"Uhmm..I'd try looking for any vacant position in any of the departments but if I don't get any, then I'd go look for a job somewhere else" said Yvonne.
"I'm sorry for making this happen to you".
Yvonne looked at Ariana with a surprised gaze.
"You didn't cause this. It was your father, I'm sorry but with all due respect your father needs to hear a piece of my mind" she seethed.
"Well there's little to nothing I can do when my own family decides to treat me this way." Ariana said.
"It will be over soon. Don't worry" Yvonne placed a hand on Ariana's.
The waiter arrived their table and took their orders as they dived into the next topic. "So about Rodrigo...how did you find out he was cheating?" Yvonne asked curiously.
"I went to his house the same day we went to that club, but earlier. I found a woman's tank top in his bathroom and asked about it and he told me it was his cousins. Crazy part is that I believed him. But now when I think about it, I guess that was also his lover's property. Last night, I went to a restaurant to eat after searching tirelessly for a job and I literally saw him sitting alone.." she paused as the waiter got to their table to serve their meals.
"Then I decided to go sit with him but before I could even do that, I saw a breathtaking lady walk in and guess where she was heading?" Ariana rhetorically asked.
"Rodrigo's table?" Yvonne asked even though she already knew the answer.
"Yes". She heard Ariana say and she chuckled darkly.
A kind of laughter that would make one cautious and thread carefully because it wasn't a good kind.
Ariana scoffed matching her friend's energy.
"I really tried to control myself Yvonne. I sat watching them play lovey dovey and guess what? She is an actress." Ariana said and Yvonne shook her head in disappointment.
"You know at first I thought it was probably a coworker or a friend but then he kissed her cheeks and that confirmed everything. Honestly, I want to hurt him exactly how he hurt me but I guess I should forgive him." Her last statement created a surprised look on Yvonne's face.
"Our relationship wasn't based off of love at first Yvonne. It was arranged by our parents but eventually I got to like him, love him. But I didn't think he would cheat on me"l she added.
"What do you plan to do now?" Yvonne asked.
"To be honest, I don't know. I'd confront him and call off the wedding but not yet. Very soon but not yet" Ariana replied.
"Okay then. But you know you don't have to carry all this on your own. I'm right here" Yvonne coaxed her.
"Thank you" Ariana said.
After they finished their meal, Ariana told Yvonne about the deed of ownership issue, how she found out her own documents were fake and that she was going to meet with the fraud Fidel later on.
"Are you going to see him alone? You know you can't right?" Yvonne asked, perplexed by what Ariana revealed to her but also concerned.
"I think it would be better if I go alone" Ariana replied.
"There's no way I'm letting you go see those shady people alone. What's your plan?".
"The man deserves some sort of legal punishment but I need to ask him some questions first." Ariana explained.
Silence reigned between both girls for a while but not the uncomfortable kind but the kind that indicated they had a lot on their minds.
"I'm coming with you regardless" Yvonne said.
"And ohh...about Azaiah, I did some research on him and it seems he's rumored to have some kind of issues. I really can't explain it but from what I heard, he has psychopathic tendencies. Like, I don't think he's entirely okay in the head so I think you should keep a safe distance from him" continued Yvonne.
Concern was etched on Ariana's face after hearing her friend's words.
"But he seemed normal in high school and even when I saw him last night. He does seem a bit...I don't know maybe different but I don't think he is psychopathic in any way. I might be wrong though but I just don't think those rumors were true" Ariana said and Yvonne gave her a certain look.
"I thought you hated him but now you're defending him" a sheepish smile appeared on Yvonne's face.
"I didn't hate him in highschool. I just disliked the way he treated me then and he was so full of himself. He always had a smug smile on his face" Ariana said.
"Smug smile? Or really sexy smile?" Yvonne teased.
"Stop it. Now it's not the time for jokes like that. Besides, that was highschool. Now, things are different and I can't say I still dislike him. I don't know what to feel for him" Ariana said.
"Okay then...if that's how it is, I'd stop playing around" Yvonne playfully raised her hands in surrender making Ariana giggle.
Ariana hadn't told Yvonne about the birth certificate incident yet. She wanted to take another blood test at the hospital to confirm once again first. If the test comes out with the result being the fact that she's AB, she'd have a DNA test done but without her parents knowledge and the only way she could do that was taking an item her parents owned like their toothbrush or strand of hair.
As she thought of it all, she felt her head throb.
Yvonne reached out to touch her shoulder. "Are you good?" She asked.
"Just a headache" Ariana said.
Looking back, she couldn't believe how much her life had changed in a couple of hours. From bring kicked out of the company she worked so tirelessly for, to being cheated on a week to her wedding and lastly the drama with her parents . It all felt like a whirlpool of problems and she was right in the middle of the vortex, ready to be sucked down.
