Chapter 106 - And that is when I got Enlightened

Hi guys, author here! Please share your thoughts in the comments and reviews. And if you like it, don't forget to drop some stones — they're a great motivator!

-----

The First years looked at their half-naked senpai with deadpan looks. They then proceeded to look at the other two seniors, wondering if the pervert in front of them was serious.

Noritoshi Kamo and Momo Nishimiya facepalmed at Aoi Todo's actions. As much as they wanted to reprimand him, they knew they would not be able to handle the Grade-1 sorcerer at all. From their experience, there was only one person who could somewhat control their weird classmate.

"Oi! Wear your damn clothes! Why are you flashing like a pervert!" chided Naoya and threw Todo's uniform at him.

"Ugh...Big Brother! You should know that I am not a pervert!" said Todo, but still put on his clothes. His big brother has raised him to be an obedient and upright human(Todo's imaginary flashback).

"...I have been thinking about it for a while....why the hell is this pervert senior calling you Big Brother, Onii-chan?" asked Mai and narrowed his eyes at Todo.

Hearing the question, Todo looked at Mai weirdly.

"Don't you have eyes? Can't you see the resemblance?" asked Todo seriously. What else was he supposed to call his elder brother if not for Big Brother?

"On that note, why the hell are you calling my big brother, onii-chan?" asked Todo and narrowed his eyes at Mai.

"Why else? He is my brother, and I am his lovely sister," replied Mai and crossed her arms.

Todo blinked in confusion. Was this the first year delusional?

"All right. Stop it. First order of business is the introduction. Noritoshi, Momo, introduce yourselves to them," said Naoya.

"I am Noritoshi Kamo. Like Todo, I am a 2nd year as well. If you face any issues, feel free to consult me," said Noritoshi with a smile.

"Hello~, I am Momo Nishimiya, a 2nd year as well. Let's get along, okay~" greeted Momo with a smile.

"Mechamaru. For reasons, I operate with this puppet. Take care of me."

"H-Hello! I am Kasumi Miwa! I hope to get along with you senpais!"

"Mai Zenin. A pleasure to meet you."

As Mai finished her greeting, both Noritoshi and Mai locked onto each other.

Kamo and Zenin. Two of the three great jujutsu clans were rivals to each other, and this feeling of rivalry was present in almost all members of the clans. Both Mai and Noritoshi started sizing each other up, wondering who was the better sorcerer between the two of them.

The other students could feel the tension too, though Aoi Todo was an exception.

He was standing beside Naoya and was whispering something in his ear.

"Big Brother, is that girl really your sister?" asked Todo.

"She is, technically, a cousin, but I treat her like a sister. Get along with her, okay?"

"Oh....leave it to me! As your little brother, I too will treat her like a sister and guide her well!" replied Todo with determination.

On the other side, Mai was asking the other seniors why Todo called Naoya Big Brother.

"Well, back in our first year, Todo asked his 'What's your type?' question to Naoya-senei. After hearing his answer, he cried a bit and started calling him Big Brother," said Momo and shrugged her shoulders.

"Huh? What the hell? What did Onii-chan say to make that weirdo act like this?" asked Mai.

Hearing that question, Momo got awkward and looked away.

Noritoshi, being the gentleman he was, decided to remain silent as well. He was not willing to follow up on this madness.

Seeing the seniors getting awkward, Mai looked towards Utahime for answers. Knowing Naoya, he would have definitely said that his type was similar to Utahime.

"Big Brother told me that his type is mature women with curvy bodies," answered Todo.

*Cough**Cough*

Utahime immediately gave a cough to shift the topic.

Though Todo didn't catch her intention.

"I still remember that day vividly. After reuniting with my Big Brother after a long time, we got into a mock battle just like we used to when we were kids. He thoroughly defeated me, but that was expected; my big brother is that amazing after all. After the battle, I asked him what his type was. I was curious about that since I never had that talk with him. Still, my brother told me, "...I prefer mature ladies with curvy bodies. If they have lush black hair, then that is even better." It was a nice choice, but still, I asked him what type of curves mattered more to him....and that is when I got enlightened," said Todo.

By this time, Naoya was already facepalming. Sometimes he wonders why he takes the quirks of others so seriously.

"My Brother told me "...If I have to choose, then I would give preference to the butt. One might have nice and juicy melons, but all that gets ignored if the ass is flat. On the other hand, the vice versa is not true. A plump butt complements all sizes of breasts. Though I never decide to go for someone just for their curves. The curves are only for filtering; after that, I get to know them to decide if I want to go for them or not." After hearing that, I felt like my brain exploded. Thinking beyond just the butt...I realised once again how amazing my brother actually is," said Todo with a smile filled with gratitude, and looked at Naoya.

Naoya, though, was wondering whether it was all right to punch his student in the face.

"Onii-chan..." muttered Mai and looked at Naoya.

"What? Look at Utahime, and tell me if she doesn't fill all those conditions," replied Naoya and grabbed Utahime firmly.

"Eh? Oi! Don't pull me in this!!!" complained Utahime.

"See this, I am giving you all a life lesson. Being true to yourself is better than following what is acceptable by society's standards. Having a firm image of what I like, I was able to find my number 1 lady in the world. Everything in life is just like that. You should have clear goals and the determination to work towards those goals to reach them," said Naoya.

Todo immediately started clapping.

"Well said, Big Brother!"

"Ugh...so embarrassing," muttered Utahime. She was embarrassed by the whole situation, but Naoya's claim of her being his number 1 lady made her turn red. She didn't know whether to be angry at him or not.

"...Speaking of which, I never asked you. What is your type?" whispered Naoya in Utahime's ear.

"Eh?" Utahime shuddered from the sudden deep voice near her ears.

She glanced at Naoya, and just as she expected, Naoya was looking at her with a playful smirk.

"..."

Utahime didn't say anything. She simply took out her phone, opened the front camera, and let it face Naoya.

Understanding what she meant, Naoya's smile widened as his chest puffed up as well.

Seeing their teachers flirt in front of them, the students didn't know what to think of it.

Todo, though, was in deep thought and was already forming scenarios of how to use the trick Naoya just used on his girl in the future.

-----

After some time, once the situation had calmed down a bit, Naoya and Utahime got back to their class.

"Well, since today is your first day of this year, let's get a taste of what you all are capable of and how your peers actually are. I believe no one is new to Jujutsu, right?" asked Naoya.

Every student shook their head.

"Good. Then let's start this class. There will be a jujutsu duel between the first years and the second years. I will be there to stop things from escalating, so try to show off as much as you want. Okay?" said Naoya.

The students immediately got a bit surprised.

The first years were a bit surprised that they would be fighting their seniors so soon, while the 2nd years were wondering whether Naoya was asking them to bully their juniors.

"Don't think too scared, and don't underestimate your opponents," said Naoya and looked at both the groups.

The students pondered over Naoya's words for a while before they gave a nod.

Naoya and Utahime stepped forward with three slips of paper in their hands and offered the students to choose one.

Once they drew the slips, they noticed that there were numbers written on them and understood what it was.

"Know what those slips are?" asked Utahime.

The students gave a nod before they looked towards the opposing group.

"Alright then, the first pair step forward."

Mai and Noritoshi stepped forward.

Even the universe {a.k.a. me} was pushing for the battle between the Zenin and Kamo clan.

Mai and Noritoshi looked at each other. Maybe their doubts about who was the stronger between the two of them would be cleared sooner than they thought.

"Take your positions....Ready?"

Naoya, who was acting as the referee, stood in the middle.

Noritoshi readied his bow while Mai took out a few cards. Once ready, both gave a nod.

"Start!"

The moment Naoya gave the signal, Noritoshi grabbed a couple of arrows and shot them forward.

The arrows, covered with cursed energy, were quite lethal, which, coupled with the cursed technique that allowed him to manipulate the movement of the arrows that were dipped in his blood, made it an even more terrifying technique.

Mai, though, didn't even flinch at the incoming arrows.

Cursed energy flowed from her body and seeped into the ground, and an instant later, sand and soil burst out of the field and blocked the incoming arrows without any difficulty.

Mai stood at her spot and looked at Noritoshi with a smirk.

Noritoshi narrowed his eyes. To him, it seemed like Mai was taunting him and was asking, 'Is that all?'

While Noritoshi was standing still, Mai's CE flowed through the ground around them.

Noritoshi noticed something was wrong since Mai wasn't making a move, but soon realised that she was simply preparing for an attack.

The ground around them cracked up, and an instant later, blunt stone projectiles rose up and started to fly towards Noritoshi at great speed.

'Shit!!!' thought Noritoshi as he started running and dodging the attacks, though he knew that if he didn't do something soon, he would get overwhelmed.

[Blood Manipulation: Flowing Red Scale]

Blood came out of Noritoshi's eyes and formed a mark around them. In an instant, his physical capabilities got boosted.

Without thinking twice, he headed straight towards Mai to strike and knock her out to end the fight.

"It's over!" declared Noristoshi and dodged every stone bullet in his way before going in for a palm strike.

The palm headed straight towards Mai's gut, ready to knock the air out of her.

However, mid-attack, Noritoshi once again got a bad feeling. Mai wasn't panicking at all. Now, he might credit that to her not even anticipating an attack, but the fact that stopped him from thinking like that was Naoya, who was still standing on the sidelines without any intention of jumping in to stop the fight.

Noritoshi's palm landed, though it didn't touch Mai.

The Kamo heir looked at his hand that had stopped. He didn't know what it was, but there was something in his way that stopped him.

"Well, I agree, it's over," replied Mai as the solid air wall that blocked Noritoshi's attack cracked up and a strong blast of wind struck the boy, sending him flying, only for a volley of stone bullets to follow him soon after.

'Can't dodge!' thought Noritoshi while he was still in the air.

"Alright, Mai wins," declared Naoya as the stone suddenly came to a halt.

Noritoshi saw the stone stop directly in front of his face before he flew further and fell on the ground.

"Hmph! As expected of me!" declared Mai with her head held high.

Noritoshi looked at his junior.

"...I guess I need to work harder..." muttered Noritoshi as he shook his head helplessly and stood up.

"Alright, nice showing. Let's start the nex-" started Naoya.

"Big Brother." Todo's voice stopped Naoya.

Naoya looked at him, strangely, Todo was looking quite serious.

"Let me have a match with Mai," said Todo and stared at Mai.

Naoya looked at Todo. Somehow, he understood what he wanted to do.

"Up for it, Mai?" asked Naoya.

"Bring it on! I will show him what your real sibling can do!" declared Mai.

Todo didn't say anything; he simply stepped forward and got ready for the fight.

Mai took her stance as well and got ready for the fight as well.

"Ready?" asked Naoya.

Both of them nodded.

"Start!"

Mai got ready to activate her technique once again, but before she could do so, she noticed a punch heading straight for her head.

It stopped directly in front of her, not even hitting her, but the pressure from the punch was enough to push her away.

Todo wasn't finished, though.

He stepped forward once again and grabbed Mai's collar before hurling her away.

*CRASH!!!*

Mai's body soon came back to the ground as she rolled and skidded against the ground.

"AGH!!!" wince Mai. Her body was screaming in pain.

"Did you see your bad habit?" asked Todo, walking slowly towards Mai.

Mai glared at Todo, who wasn't fazed at all by her glare.

Seeing this as her opportunity, she activated her technique to attack Todo.

A giant mass of land rose and headed towards Todo at great speed.

*CLAP*

However, a clapping sound echoed, and Todo seemed to pass through the land.

"Seems like you didn't. Well, I have plenty of time," muttered Todo and rushed ahead.

Maki saw Todo coming towards her and activated her technique once again, though this time, she used it to make the land move her away from the senior.

"Damn it! It hurts you know!" yelled Mai and held onto her card.

Cursed energy flowed out from her and travelled to the air around them.

An instant later, a box of solidified air formed around Todo, trapping him inside.

Todo's fist headed straight for the wall, but was not able to break through it.

"Seriously, just give me a brea-" muttered Mai, seeing that the muscled brute was finally stopped.

"YAAAA!!!"

Todo, though, simply used CE reinforcement to break through.

The moment the air box broke, the wind burst out, blowing everything away.

"Seems like you won't understand until someone spells it out for you....You have a very bad habit. The way you fight is very arrogant and leaves quite a lot of openings, you know. I am guessing you picked that habit after seeing Big Brother's fights," said Todo.

"Scolding me and pointing out my mistakes on my first day? Aren't you quite rude, senpai?" asked Mai as she took out another card and got ready to attack.

But before she could attack, Todo appeared in front of her once again and slapped her hand, making her drop the cards.

"Unlike Big Brother, who simply looks like he has a lot of openings when in reality he doesn't give any opening at all. You are simply not strong enough to fight like that," said Todo and lightly pushed her away.

"Don't lecture me on how I sho-"

"Are you content with being this weak?" asked Todo.

Naoya told him that Mai is his cousin whom he treats like a sister. Because of that, Todo has promised him that he will look after her and even guide her. So seeing such a big flaw in Mai made Todo feel quite determined to fix that.

Hearing Todo's last comment made Mai stop.

Weak?

She has been working her ass off to remove that stain from her, yet this senior on her first day at high school was calling her weak.

"You might feel that you are quite strong beating people who are weaker or are a bad match-up against you, but the moment a somewhat decent opponent appears, you will lose," said Todo with a serious look on his face and stared straight into Mai's eyes.

Mai too was looking back at Todo, though this time she was not looking at him with anger....she was simply looking at him like he was her target.

She didn't say anything; she simply moved her hand towards her uniform pocket and took something out of it.

"All right, that's enough, no need to use that in a friendly spar," said Naoya, who appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Mai's hand before she could use her next attack.

Mai looked at Naoya with a frustrated gaze. She was about to show the pervert how 'weak' she was, but Naoya stopped her before she could do so.

"Don't misunderstand it, though. Aoi went quite easy on you. If he were serious from the start, you would have been dead within seconds," said Naoya seriously.

"Huh?"

Mai looked at Naoya and then towards Todo. Dead within seconds? Was the man in front of her that strong?

"I won't have killed her....though that's because she is a friend and my junior. Other opponents won't go easy on you, though. You might not like hearing that you have flaws that make you weak, but they are there. If you don't fix them soon, you might die," said Todo with a serious look.

Mai stared at Todo for a while before she looked away from him.

As Todo told her, she didn't like hearing him call her weak and having flaws, but if Naoya was telling her that she would have been dead within seconds, then it seemed like those things were true.

She clenched her fists and suddenly yelled out of nowhere.

"Onii-chan! Tell me what I need to improve to beat the crap out of this pervert!!!"

Hearing her demand, the students were quite surprised, though Todo and Naoya smiled at that.

Mai Zenin might cry or complain, but she was not one to quit without trying. Naoya didn't raise her like that.

"Mind your language, " said Naoya and smacked Mai.

"Eh?!"

"Aoi, point out her bad habits later," said Naoya.

"Huh? No way I am taking his help!" complained Mai.

"Leave it to me, Big Brother," said Todo, totally ignoring the complaining kid.

"Listen to me!!!!!" yelled Mai, trying not to get involved with the pervert any more than necessary.
