Chapter 176 - Chapter 176: The Golden Ark Explodes Just Like That

As the saying goes: to shoot the rider, shoot the horse; to capture the bandits, capture their leader first.

Although Sherlock had not yet figured out what kind of attack could actually harm "Lightning" itself, he knew one thing for certain: this golden ark, which could drastically enhance the powers of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, absolutely could not be allowed to exist in this world.

However, in the eyes of a certain "God," the Ark Maxim was not merely a weapon of peerless power—it was his sole means of reaching his dream land, the Endless Vearth!

"No... No! Stop it right now!"

Enel, who had only just managed to regain his composure, let out another scream of anguish. His Observation Haki was powerful, yet he had never expected the Sorcerer to target the ark instead of him.

"Sango (God's Judgment)!"

In a fit of desperate rage, the Thunder God's right arm instantly transformed into a massive pillar of lightning, thundering toward the blood-red spear that was gathering power in mid-air.

CRACKLE!!! The electric light flared!

The power of Enel's fury-driven strike was truly extraordinary; the overflowing current seemed to completely ionize the surrounding air!

While the Divine Killing Spear: Gungnir possessed peerless destructive power, its preparation and wind-up time were indeed a bit "unimpressive." Just as Sherlock was about to swing his hand, that terrifying pillar of lightning arrived first.

Zap! Blue-white collided with blood-red in an instant! But the bizarre scene that followed left all three people present completely stunned.

Like a sponge soaking up water, the blood-red spear—shining with an eerie light—actually absorbed every last bit of the current directed at it, as if those lightning bolts full of destructive aura had never existed at all.

Furthermore, after absorbing Enel's lightning, the blood-red glow emanating from Gungnir seemed even more dazzling than before.

Silence—the entire space fell into an eerie hush.

"Wh... what happened?" Aisa, hiding behind the Sorcerer, almost dropped her jaw in shock. What had just occurred defied all common sense.

(This spear can actually absorb lightning?)

As the creator and controller of the mirror entities, Sherlock could very clearly feel the surge of energy within Gungnir. But what he couldn't understand was when this blood-red spear had developed such a sharp ability.

(I remember back in Mock Town when facing Blackbeard, the Gungnir formed from a Six-fold Mirror Fusion also transformed into blood-red lightning... Strange, why is it so connected to lightning?)

The Sorcerer looked up at the blood-red orb of light, which resembled a miniature sun. His mind was filled with a thousand thoughts, and for a moment, he actually forgot to destroy the ark.

"Stop joking around!"

On the other side, seeing his proud lightning strikes fail once again, Enel suffered another breakdown. He felt the string in his mind labeled "rationality" letting out a series of strained moans, as if the slightest bit of further irritation would snap it completely.

"I am God! I am the incarnation of the most terrifying force in nature, Lightning! How can a mere broken spear..."

The expression on Enel's face became extremely distorted. Not only could this four-eyed man's fruit ability reflect all of his attacks, but that blood-red spear he had conjured out of nowhere was sinister to the extreme. This damn thing actually absorbed his attack—could you believe it?

"Damn Blue Sea dweller! Damn ability! Damn spear!"

Compared to the Sorcerer himself, the proud Enel found it even more intolerable that he was being thwarted by a lifeless weapon.

Crackle! Lightning flashed!

Enel's body suddenly transformed into scattered sparks and disappeared. The next moment, the figure of the Thunder God appeared in mid-air, less than a meter away from Gungnir.

"Something like this should never exist in this world. Vanish for me!" With a sharp roar, Enel reached out with a frenzied expression toward the blood-red spear before him.

"100 Million Volts! Discharge!!!"

Rumble! Crash!

A blinding flash of electricity, far surpassing anything before, erupted from Enel's body. The azure lightning instantly tore the blood-red orb of light—which made up the Divine Killing Spear—into fragments. The jumping arcs of electricity were so bright it felt as if one's eyes would be scorched blind just by looking!

"Yahahaha~"

Seeing Gungnir dismantled by his lightning, Enel let out a laugh of relief. "I told you, how could there possibly be a weapon capable of absorbing lightn—"

Before he could finish, the long-eared "God's" words stopped abruptly, like a duck being strangled. He watched in horror as his blue-white electric arcs were rapidly disappearing, replaced by streaks of blood-red thunderbolts that gradually converged in mid-air into a spear of lightning composed entirely of blood-red electricity!

BOOM!!! A surging tide of energy radiated from the Lightning Blood Spear. The air let out a deafening sonic boom due to the high temperature, blasting the bewildered Enel backward.

Hum— A low thrumming sound, like a funeral knell, echoed from the void. Amidst the flickering light, the entire space was filled with a heart-palpitating intent to kill!

"What is the situation now?"

Looking at Gungnir flickering with blood-red lightning in the air, Sherlock couldn't help but gasp. The current appearance of this Lightning Blood Spear was exactly the same as it had been back in Mock Town, meaning it had already far exceeded the scope of a Five-fold Mirror Fusion.

"This is... a Six-fold Mirror Fusion?!" the Sorcerer said in disbelief. Under the "charging" provided by a certain unlucky Thunder God, Gungnir's power had surged once again, directly reaching the level of a Six-fold Mirror Fusion!

(This spear is truly too sinister... Hiss~ my head hurts!)

A needle-like prick of pain suddenly shot through Sherlock's brain. Since he wasn't using Yinsangmona to boost his mental strength this time, he could only control a Six-fold Fusion mirror entity for a very short period.

(In that case...)

—Divine Killing Spear...

The Sorcerer did not hesitate. He steadied his mind and then, under the despairing gaze of a certain "God," swung his hand downward with force.

—Gungnir!

Swish— The Lightning Blood Spear trailed a long tail of light, slamming into the golden ark without a moment's hesitation.

"NO!!!!" Enel's eyes nearly split from their sockets, but since the opposing force was also lightning, he was powerless to stop it despite his desperate desire to save his ship.

BOOM!!!!

The lightning, filled with the aura of destruction, exploded violently. Terrifying arcs of electricity jumped wildly as the earth trembled uneasily. The high temperature caused by the massive voltage melted the gold on the ark into liquid in an instant, while the wooden materials were turned directly into charcoal, disintegrating into ash under the subsequent shockwave!

The power was truly terrifying to behold!

Only after the blinding blood-red glare gradually faded did Aisa dare to peek out from behind the Sorcerer. She looked toward the spot where the Ark Maxim had been parked and was instantly frozen in place.

Where was that ostentatious golden ark? All that remained was a floor of golden wreckage and a bottomless, massive crater!

The power of a Six-fold Mirror Fusion could wipe a small town off the map; naturally, a golden ark taking a direct hit had no hope of survival.

Gulp—

Aisa subconsciously swallowed her saliva. In these few short minutes, her eyes had truly been opened. First was the reflection of lightning, then the spear absorbing electricity, and now this "Lightning Strike on a Pay-to-Win Golden Ship" left the little Shandia girl feeling even more shaken.

(Right, since the ark was blown up, then its owner, Enel...)

The red-haired girl hurriedly turned her head to look. When she saw the Thunder God, who had turned completely "grey-scaled" in shock, Aisa suddenly understood the meaning of the phrase: "utterly devoid of the will to live."

Clang— The golden staff slipped from his hand, making a crisp sound against the ground.

"..." A mysterious silence followed.

Enel stared blankly at the field of wreckage, his fair face numb and vacant. Although the Sorcerer had only destroyed the ark, the "God" felt as though his own heart had been torn to pieces by that godforsaken four-eyed bastard!

His heart was bleeding!

The ship of dreams had capsized; the golden ark had exploded just like that. The great ideal he had planned for six whole years had turned to smoke in a matter of minutes.

Dammit! This is absolute horse-sht! How is anyone supposed to live like this!*

"Uh..." Aisa's expression was slightly awkward. Although the other party was her enemy, even this little girl couldn't help but feel that this "God" was truly too miserable!

(Truly foolish...)

A certain "culprit" wearing silver-rimmed spectacles calmly pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
