Chapter 177 - Chapter 177: Amaru! Amaru!

The power of the God-Killing Spear after a six-fold fusion was truly terrifying.

Aside from the Ark Maxim, which had been reduced to scrap metal by a direct hit, the overflowing crimson lightning had shorn a literal layer off the surrounding rock walls, leaving the entire space in utter shambles.

The air was thick with the acrid, burnt scent of ionization. Paired with the wreckage of the Ark scattered across the ground, the scene was one of profound desolation.

It perfectly mirrored Enel's current state of mind.

"Heh... hehehe... HA! HA! HA! HA!"

Enel, who had previously looked as though life held no more meaning, suddenly burst into a hysterical, broken laughter. Terrifying arcs of electricity danced across his body, surging in response to his violent emotional fluctuations. His laughter was so neurotic it seemed as though his mind had been completely shattered.

"You actually... you actually dared to destroy my Ark! You destroyed my dream!!! Good, good... you've done a 'fine' job, Blue Sea dweller!"

As Enel spat out the final word through gritted teeth, the expression on his face collapsed into a new level of derangement. The monstrous hatred smoldering in his eyes was almost tangible; if looks could kill, the Sorcerer would have been struck down a thousand times over by this "God of Thunder."

"Well, it was an alright performance, I suppose."

Sherlock nodded calmly. He patted Aisa on the shoulder, gesturing for her to hide to the side, and continued, "Actually, if you hadn't 'charged' my spear earlier, I wouldn't have been able to dismantle such a massive golden ark so thoroughly."

After all, the Ark Maxim was more than ten times the size of the Going Merry. A God-Killing Spear fused with only five mirror-images would have, at most, punched a large hole through it.

"So, you really 'went above and beyond' earlier, Lord God." As he spoke, the Sorcerer leaned forward slightly, offering Enel an elegant, textbook noble's bow.

"You... you...!"

Enel nearly choked on his own rage at the Sorcerer's infuriating words. Arcs of lightning leaped across his bare torso; the crackling, terrifying current made it clear just how livid the God of Thunder truly was.

(Don't provoke him anymore, Sherlock!)

Sprinting away, the red-haired girl felt a reflexive shudder crawl down her spine, and her pace quickened. At that moment, Aisa's powerful Mantra could clearly sense that the string in Enel's head labeled "sanity" had snapped completely!

His reason was collapsing! His fury was roaring!

To hell with the survival game! To hell with the hidden rewards! To hell with the five survivors! To hell with the Kingdom of God!

Aaaaah... just die! All of you, DIE!!!

At this moment, Enel's mind held nothing but Destruction and Death.

"I will absolutely kill you! You four-eyed Blue Sea dweller!"

Zzt! Zzt! The piercing screech of thunder echoed through the space. Enel's body suddenly expanded to an exaggerated degree, transforming into a lightning giant teeming with a staggering voltage!

The air was instantly filled with a heart-palpitating aura of annihilation. The surging arcs were so terrifying that the very space seemed to tremble uneasily at the presence of this humanoid ball of lightning.

—200 Million Volts: Amaru!

"Feel the endless wrath of a GOD!"

Having unleashed his ultimate trump card, Enel let out a roar of fury. Ignoring Aisa, who had scrambled to the side, he thrust out two blue-white arms of lightning. Several bolts of electricity—over a dozen times larger than an ordinary strike—shot from his palms, lashing out violently toward the Sorcerer, whose expression had finally shifted.

Meanwhile, at the Giant Jack.

A beautiful figure with a litany of graceful curves was maneuvering a board-type Waver, rapidly ascending the impossibly large, emerald-green beanstalk.

(Laki: Please don't run into Enel, Wyper!)

Recalling Kamakiri's plea from not long ago, Laki's eyes were filled with anxiety. As the only woman among the Shandia warriors, she naturally possessed the courage and grit befitting a soldier. Even so, Laki couldn't help but doubt their chances of success in this operation.

(That man is the most terrifying 'Lightning.' We cannot defeat him!)

Flashbacks of her comrades' tragic, charred forms after being struck by lightning flickered through her mind. A shadow of worry crossed Laki's pretty face, and she pushed the Waver even faster.

Laki burst through the clouds and reached the Upper Ruins. Immediately, the tall Shandia warrior froze, stunned by the scene before her.

First and foremost was the eye-catching, impossibly massive serpent—the Sky Master, Nola. The monstrous snake was currently snapping its huge jaws, its gargantuan body thrashing wildly through the cramped ruins, turning the area into a chaotic mess of dust and debris.

(Is the Sky Master... chasing something?!) Laki wondered. Just then, several shouts drew her attention.

"Yahoo!!! That was close! I almost got eaten! Hey, run faster, Big Dog!"

The speaker was a boy wearing a straw hat. He was straddling the head of a giant white dog. Seeing his excited, laughing face, one wouldn't find a trace of the tension usually associated with being hunted by a giant serpent.

"Woof!" The giant dog beneath the Straw Hat Boy let out a low growl and sped up. Notably, this somewhat goofy-looking dog was actually running on its two hind legs like a human.

"Eeeek! Luffy! Stop playing around! We're gonna get eaten!" This time, the voice came from a mysterious creature that looked like a tanuki but had reindeer antlers. In all her life, Laki had never seen such a strange being.

The little guy was currently clinging tightly to the Straw Hat Boy's neck, his face twisted into an exaggerated expression of pure terror.

One human, one dog, and one "tanuki," with a giant snake chasing them—they were running and chasing as if they were having the time of their lives.

"..." Laki was completely dumbfounded.

(Isn't that dog the pet of Holy Master Ohm? Why is it listening to that Blue Sea dweller? Did he tame it?!)

At that moment, the warrior felt as if a hundred thousand Sea Kings were stampeding through her mind. She had expected a tragic, bloody battle, but she never imagined she would witness such a bizarre spectacle.

For a moment, Laki actually forgot she was looking for Wyper.

"Holy! You stupid dog!"

On the other side, Ohm, the priest in charge of the Ordeal of Iron, looked as if he had swallowed a fly. He prided himself on being the greatest beast tamer on the Sky Island; not only had he trained his beloved dog to walk on two legs, but he had even taught it bizarre skills like "how to box"—things no dog should ever know.

However, the sunglasses-wearing priest had forgotten to teach it the most basic skill: Don't just take orders from strangers, damn it!

—Three-Sword Style: Tiger Hunt!

Ohm's expression shifted. His powerful Mantra sensed the green-haired swordsman's cold slash before it even landed. He calmly drew his blade to parry.

Clang!!! The sound of colliding steel was crisp and sharp.

"How naive. Don't think for a second that my distraction gives you an opening. I've predicted all your attacks, Blue Sea dweller." Ohm adjusted his sunglasses with a look of disdain, simultaneously swinging his long blade forcefully toward Zoro.

—White Iron Brambles!

"What?!" To Zoro's shock, the long blade in the priest's hand suddenly stretched to an incredible length, its expansion speed rivaling a fired bullet. He had no time to dodge; a long, bloody gash was carved across his abdomen by the sharp edge.

"Ugh—" Zoro let out a low groan of pain and hastily retreated. He stared warily at the white blade, which had already returned to its original shape, his expression flickering with uncertainty.

"This blade of mine is made of Iron Cloud; it can stretch and change shape at will."

Perhaps sensing the confusion in the swordsman's eyes, Ohm adjusted his sunglasses arrogantly. "Even if you carry three swords, the gap in our reach means you are no match for me."

"Don't worry. The survival rate of the Ordeal of Iron is 0%. Once I've finished you, your companions will be joining you shortly."

"Why are all you winged guys so full of yourselves?"

Hearing words that felt like a massive case of déjà vu, Zoro smirked. He gripped his swords tightly, preparing to launch another attack.

RUMBLE!!!

Right then, a series of violent thunderclaps erupted from diagonally below. The blinding, terrifying flashes of electricity seemed filled with boundless rage, painting the entire world in shades of blue and white.

Amidst the lightning and thunder, the Giant Jack—and the entire Upper Ruins—began to tremble violently!

(What's happening?!) several voices thought in unison.
