The Fairy Tail Guild is very harmonious; it's fine even if you don't go to work.
Aux had been idle for five full days.
He was either at the Guild or in his dormitory, and if there was a downside, it was that he was a bit bored.
"Is this a newspaper?"
Today, still without work, Aux sat in his usual spot at the counter, sipping a different coffee from the other Guild members.
He inadvertently glimpsed a newspaper nearby and casually picked it up to read.
The reports mainly covered who had eliminated which Dark Guild, which Guild members made it into the newspaper based on their looks, or interviews with certain individuals.
"The newspaper arrived this morning. I saw a report about beautiful scenery in it, and thinking you'd be interested, I didn't throw it away!" Mirajane said.
How thoughtful~
Aux was indeed very keen on beautiful scenery; he had never forgotten his promise to travel the entire world.
He unfolded the newspaper and saw the information Mirajane had mentioned.
An aurora, a rare sight in a hundred years!
A bright, never-before-seen starry sky.
The report was incredibly detailed, and the words alone captivated Aux.
"The location isn't far."
He checked the address; the best viewing spot was within the Fiore Kingdom.
"Mirajane, are you free? Let's go see the aurora together!"
To witness such a romantic and beautiful scene, one definitely needed a beautiful companion.
Without a doubt.
Mirajane's personality and looks perfectly matched Aux's aesthetic; she was the best choice to accompany him to see the aurora.
"Oh my~" Mirajane smiled, full of mirth, "Is Aux inviting me on a date?"
Mirajane's reaction left Aux unable to tell if she liked the idea or not.
He pondered how he should respond.
"The Master asked me to organize the library these past two days. Although I'd love to go out and see the aurora with you, I don't have time." Mirajane regretfully declined.
Aux nodded indifferently, "Then we'll talk about it later."
Mirajane helped recommend, "How about you go find Erza? She was the one who led you to the Guild, after all. Your relationship should be quite good, right?"
Someone definitely needed to accompany him to see the aurora.
Mirajane was busy, so Aux could only turn his gaze to Erza, who was eating cake.
Speaking of which, after joining the Guild, her requests never seemed to stop; he rarely saw her have any time to rest.
No sooner said than done.
Aux left the counter and approached Erza, "Are you interested in seeing the aurora? It's a beautiful sight that only happens once in a hundred years!"
Erza wiped her mouth, "No! It's not that I don't want to see the aurora, I'm afraid that after seeing it, you'll want to sleep with me!"
Pfft~
Gray, next to them, spat out his drink; he was clearly shocked by Erza's words.
Even Aux was stunned.
Was he the kind of person who would take advantage of others? This girl was actually looking at him through biased glasses!
"Not long ago, I went to work near the border and met a Noble Miss we had rescued. Her exact words were: Aux bothered her all night, and her body was completely falling apart."
"That just proves you're a pervert, and you deliberately lied to me, saying you were entangled with the Noble Miss's brother all night. Clearly, the reason you lied to me was because you had ulterior motives and wanted to sleep with me!"
Erza explained her reasoning, her clean eyes full of cuteness.
"Slander! This is slander!"
Aux immediately retorted.
He genuinely hadn't done anything; that Noble Miss actually slandered him!
"The Noble Miss told me not to be alone with you, to stay as far away from you as possible, and to stop all girls who tried to get close to you." Erza continued.
Speechless!
Utterly speechless!
Perhaps in Erza's eyes, that Noble Miss was genuinely offering kind guidance.
But Aux, however, believed the Noble Miss was being possessive!
"Forget it."
He felt so exhausted just thinking about it.
He turned to look at Cana and Levy; if these two girls also refused his invitation to see the aurora, then he would start doubting his own attractiveness.
Levy had clearly heard their conversation, and she blushed, shaking her head in refusal, "I'm still young, I don't want to have a boyfriend so early!"
Darn it!
This one was also afraid he'd act like a pervert.
Aux could only look at Cana, who was continuously drinking. Was it really a good idea to bring a drunkard along?
"Hic…" Cana hiccuped, then proactively walked over and sat next to Aux, patting his chest, "If you can outdrink me, I'll let you arrange the date, the hotel room, everything!"
I'm out!
Aux turned his head away with a dark expression. Cana was famously good at drinking in the Guild; how could he possibly outdrink her?
And it was just to see the aurora; how did it suddenly get dragged into dating and hotel rooms?
He really wasn't a pervert who wanted to sleep with girls!
With his looks, he couldn't even get one girl to accompany him to see the aurora? Who would believe that?
"Man, I'll go with you!" Elfman proactively stepped forward.
However, Aux directly ignored him; seeing the aurora definitely required a woman.
He walked towards the request board, preparing to find a job nearby to earn some travel expenses.
"Poor Aux…"
"So heartless, the girls in the Guild are so hurtful."
"Why didn't Aux invite me? I have time and I'm willing to let you get handsy…"
"Good sister, first take a look at yourself in the mirror."
"Mourning~"
Some Guild members sympathized with Aux, while some less attractive girls wanted to offer themselves freely.
But Aux ignored these words as if he were deaf.
He pulled a request from the board and, expressionless, walked to the counter to hand it to Mirajane.
Mirajane smiled and said, "It seems the beautiful aurora can only be enjoyed by you alone, Aux~"
Click… After registering the request, Aux turned around and left the Guild, speechless.
On his way to the station, he finally realized the main reason he hadn't been able to get a girl to go with him.
Mirajane, needless to say, seemed genuinely busy; he could sense from her eyes and words that she didn't particularly dislike Aux.
Erza and Aux were somewhat familiar, but this familiarity was only limited to that between companions, peers, and friends. Moreover, Jellal definitely held more weight in her heart than him.
Perhaps the Noble Miss's words influenced her, but based on Aux's intuition, it was more about Jellal, a hurdle from her childhood that she couldn't overcome.
Among all the female characters, Erza was definitely one of the hardest to pursue, because in her dark times, Jellal was an irreplaceable ray of light that shone into her heart.
Cana and Levy's reasons for refusing were simply due to unfamiliarity.
All things considered, Aux had only joined the Guild for less than a month; no one would go on a solo date with an unfamiliar man.
Cana was an exception.
That drunkard had once gone on a date with a young man she had never met, in Lucy's place.
"If I analyze it this way, then it definitely has nothing to do with my looks." Aux muttered to himself.
His thoughts cleared.
He no longer dwelled on whether it would be awkward to see the aurora alone.
He happily bought a train ticket.
And boarded the train heading for the Great Plains!
