Clang ~ Clang ~
"Ugh… I feel like throwing up… Hades… Ugh… Let me off this train…"
The train sped along the tracks. Inside, Natsu was sprawled on his seat, completely devoid of strength.
"How pathetic…" Gray scoffed.
Aux pursed his lips as he looked at the scenery outside the window, secretly glad he didn't possess Dragon Slayer Magic—otherwise, he'd be sprawled here too.
"What kind of Magic does Gray use? Introduce it so it'll be easier for me to assist you later," Aux suddenly asked. He knew, of course, but it was still good to hear it directly.
Gray replied, "I learned Ice Magic from my master since I was young. I use Ice-Make Magic."
As he spoke, Gray clasped his hands together, creating the Fairy Tail Guild emblem.
Aux held it. The translucent emblem floated in his palm, emitting a faint coolness and feeling surprisingly solid to the touch.
"Very interesting Magic," Aux replied. He wondered whether he should use Addition Magic on Natsu, Gray, or directly on Happy.
"Gray's Ice-Make Magic is free-form Magic; he can create any shape," Happy added.
On the way, Aux, Gray, Natsu, and Happy chatted throughout the journey, sharing interesting experiences and discussing Magic formations.
After arriving at the station and disembarking, the group quickly reached the client's home. The client was the mayor of the town, and his house was naturally the most luxurious.
"I thought they would send an S-Class Mage, since that monster is so terrifying!" the mayor exclaimed when he saw them. None of them were S-Class Mages, so he was visibly disappointed.
"Since we've come, we can naturally complete this job," Aux replied.
The mayor didn't argue. He continued, "It's impossible to determine when that monster first appeared. The first incident involved the town's hunters—three experienced hunters went into the mountains and never returned.
"Later, their families reported it, and the town's soldiers went into the mountains to search. Ten or so went in and never came out either.
"Three or four days after that, a fierce roar came from the mountains. The monster, like a walking mountain, approached the town.
"After losing quite a few soldiers, we finally managed to drive it back… but no one knows when it will return. We hope the mages can eliminate it."
Aux listened carefully. This period was before the main plot started, and he couldn't rely on memory alone to gauge the monster's strength—details were crucial for analysis.
"Got it. I'll go burn it down right now."
Natsu immediately stood up, grinning, and rushed out.
Happy flew after him.
Aux's mouth twitched. "Let's go deal with the monster first."
The mayor didn't react; he clearly knew Fairy Tail mages were reckless.
Leaving the mayor's mansion, Aux and Gray hurried after Natsu. Together, they left the town and entered the valley.
"How do we find it in such a large valley?" Gray grumbled.
Natsu, however, was excited, treating the place like a labyrinth.
"How about I fly up and look?" Happy suggested. Since he could fly, scouting was easy.
"Oh right, Happy, fly me!"
Natsu suddenly remembered and waved.
"Aye~" Happy grabbed him and carried him into the sky.
"You idiot, be careful," Gray muttered. A monster this huge would definitely be dangerous—Natsu rushing in alone could lead to trouble.
"Don't worry about him. We'll chase after they start fighting…" Aux said.
He could use Addition Magic: Flight on himself and Gray, but after thinking it over, he chose not to. Let Natsu fight first; he needed time to prepare a proper strategy.
Rumble… Roar~
In less than ten minutes, a loud crash echoed from deep within the valley, followed by a soul-shaking roar. The ground trembled beneath their feet.
"Quick, chase!" Gray urged, running even faster. This level of shaking showed how terrifying the monster was.
The two rushed forward and soon saw Natsu clashing with the monster.
The creature had the head of a bull, and its body was covered in scales that reflected a cold, metallic sheen. Natsu's fists burned with scorching flames as he struck it repeatedly—but there wasn't even a scratch.
"Fire Dragon's… Roar!"
Realizing his punches were ineffective, Natsu inhaled deeply, clasped his hands, and unleashed a torrent of flames that engulfed the monster. Dead branches and leaves around them ignited instantly.
Roar—!
Just when they thought it was over, another thunderous roar erupted from within the flames. A burning arm swung out and struck Natsu midair.
Clang.
Natsu and Happy were slapped away, crashing diagonally into the valley floor.
Roar, roar, roar… The monster bellowed triumphantly. Covered in flames, it looked like a demon crawling out of hell.
"Aaaah… Let me at it!"
Gray clasped his hands, preparing to use Magic.
But before he could act, Natsu's stubborn voice echoed as Happy flew him back.
"I suggest you two team up; this monster's strength is terrifyingly high," Aux reminded.
It was immune to fire, and its physical strength was immense. The monster's overall presence felt stronger than Zeref's demons.
[A/N: Yeah Yeah]
This was completely absurd.
"No need!"
"I can do it myself!"
Natsu and Gray still refused to cooperate. Both genuinely believed they could handle it alone.
Aux could only shrug, deciding to watch a bit longer before using Addition Magic.
"Fire Dragon's… Iron Fist!"
Natsu charged again, blazing fists pounding the monster's head. Though its defense was insane, its speed was lacking, and with Natsu's vigilance, it barely had the chance to counterattack.
"This monster has high resistance to fire, and its defense is even more horrifying. Natsu can't break through it at all," Aux sighed.
Gray frowned. "Even if I went, it probably wouldn't work."
He couldn't see any weakness. The monster's scales had some unknown property—after all this beating, there wasn't even a crack. It was absurd.
"There's no hope."
Given the situation, Aux knew he had to intervene. To be honest, this monster was ridiculously overpowered; perhaps only Erza or a few S-Class mages could pierce its defense.
"Gray, I'm going to use Addition Magic on you now. Let's try to finish it in one blow," Aux said.
Gray hesitated. Even if Addition Magic was powerful, defeating this monster in a single strike sounded impossible. Aux's request felt overly optimistic.
