Chapter 176 - Chapter 175: Skull Island in the Pacific Ocean (Part 1)

Taking Osborn's private jet to the Pacific Ocean?

Stop messing around.

Even if Osborn dared to fly it, he wouldn't dare to sit on it.

Not to mention the last time the Parkers took Osborn's private jet and disappeared over the Pacific, Hawk, who has been confirmed to cause trouble whenever he leaves New York City with a mode of transport, has no intention of doing so.

Walking is the way to go!

Although it's somewhat tiring, it's better than getting into any unwanted trouble.

Most importantly.

Flying there on his own is faster, and by the time he would get to the airport to take a private jet, he would have already arrived.

Just like now.

Above the Pacific Ocean, following the satellite navigation on his phone, Hawk reached Osborn's secret experiment platform at sea, and upon lowering himself from the clouds, he immediately saw the steel-beast-like experiment platform set up on the vast ocean.

The entire platform was constructed from countless large metal frameworks, welded together, rising from the turbulent sea, with numerous thick pillars supporting the enormous platform, about the size of two standard football fields.

But...

Not a soul was in sight on this enormous platform, and there weren't any lights, not even emergency lamps on this huge platform, which, under the glow of the sunset, emitted a few eerie vibes.

With a thud!

Hawk's right toe landed on the platform's floor, and his form stabilized on the platform.

He looked around.

The helipad where an emergency helicopter was supposed to be parked was empty, with no human movement around, only the sound of waves hitting the platform's pillars below.

But Peter indeed had been here.

With his Sixth Sense fully activated, Hawk detected Peter's lingering presence.

Only...

The lingering presence hadn't been renewed for a while now, looking like it's been about four or five days since Peter last returned here.

Moreover...

Besides Peter's faint lingering presence, there was a strong smell of what seemed to be nearly dried blood.

Hawk raised an eyebrow, following the lingering presence of Peter and the dried bloody smell, opening the door, stepping into the buildings on the platform.

Upon entering, a bloody scene came into Hawk's view.

Blood!

Blood was everywhere, almost saturating the entire corridor; not just the corridor, but the walls and ceiling were covered with blood.

This blood had long dried, at least three to five days old, now emitting an odor in the hot environment comparable to biological weapons.

However, Hawk couldn't smell it.

The moment he opened the door, wisely, he shut off his sense of smell.

Ignoring the blood filling his view, Hawk made his way to what was presumably the room where Peter rested at night on this platform.

He pushed the door open.

A single bed, a desk, and a built-in bathroom constituted the entire room.

The bed was in disarray.

The items on the desk were also in disarray, and even Peter's clothes were messily scattered on the floor, suggesting he left in quite a hurry.

"So..."

"What happened here?"

Hawk walked into Peter's room, glanced around without finding any useful clues, curiosity brewing in his heart, then turned around and exited the room, fixing his gaze on the blood-stained corridor.

He instinctively suspected that Peter might have encountered the Pacific Pirates.

But...

"Pacific Pirates?"

"Impossible."

"Not to mention pirates, even if it's seals, Peter should be able to handle them."

After all, this version of Peter is truly Spider Spirit.

He's the Spider Spirit that could single-handedly stop a train, not the one whose ankle could be shot through by The Amazing Spider-Man or the chatterbox Spider-Man that needed help from his godfather to stop a ship.

Not only a group of faith-driven shooting pirates but even elite seal soldiers would find Spider Spirit unfazed.

Remember, Bully Maguire isn't known just for his name.

So...

Where did Peter go?

Curiosity gripping Hawk's heart, he followed the blood trail to another door. Next, he pushed the door and went out.

The blood extended from the deck towards the platform's railings, stopping abruptly at the railings.

Hawk leaned his body, glancing downwards.

Entering his sight.

A half-body remains clinging to the platform's support pillars below instantly came into view.

Just then.

A faint noise reached Hawk's ears.

Hawk's attention returned, glancing towards the control room where the sound came from.

The next second.

He disappeared from where he stood.

A man, his face covered in dried blood, emitting a stench, hiding inside the platform's control room, hastily caught a falling cup lid, then frantically looked back towards where Hawk stood just seconds ago.

And then...

He was stunned.

"Where is he? He was just there."

"Behind you."

Hawk's voice came from behind the man.

The man's whole body shuddered, and he instinctively turned his gun around.

Bang!

A bullet shot from the barrel, whistling toward Hawk's face.

Hawk didn't dodge.

Duang!

The bullet was quietly caught between Hawk's two fingers.

The next second.

He kicked out, sending the man who fired the shot flying onto the control console.

The man let out a piercing scream.

Hawk then walked over, pulled the man lying on the control console down, and watched him roll a few times on the floor before saying, "What happened here? Where are Peter and Felicia? Where did they go?"

The man, feeling doomed, shuddered again at Hawk's words, ignoring the pain in his body as he looked at Hawk with incredulity, "Wait a minute, aren't you one of them?"

Hawk raised an eyebrow.

"Them? Who are they?"

"Those demons."

The man gritted his teeth.

Upon hearing this, Hawk walked to the man, casually waved his hand, and with telekinesis, lifted the man off the floor and placed him on a nearby stool, then stood with his hands in his pockets, looking at the man who was now stupefied.

"Start from the beginning."

"Gulp!"

The man was terrified by Hawk's display, but he also understood how easily Hawk could kill him, so after swallowing hard, he began to recount the events of that night.

To be precise, it was five nights ago.

There was a severe storm that night, so all the platform staff returned early to their work areas, leaving him and another person on duty in the control room.

Everything was fine at first, just an ordinary stormy night.

But then everything changed suddenly.

He didn't even realize when a group of intruders had accessed the platform, burst through the door, immediately shooting his colleague and also firing a bullet at him.

However, the bullet didn't take his life, miraculously passing through his ear, although he fainted from fright at the time.

Hawk glanced at the man's ear, now festering with a foul odor due to lack of treatment, and nodded.

"Continue."

"Okay."

The man did not dare to hesitate upon hearing this, and continued recounting the subsequent events.

He woke up not long after fainting, and heard intense gunfire coming from the rest area.

Fearful to death and realizing they had also cut off the power, thwarting his attempt to press the emergency button, the man, driven by survival, climbed out the window, enduring the pain and hiding outside the command room in the darkness.

He continued to hear the sound of bodies splashing into the water outside, and when the noises finally stopped, he couldn't hold on any longer and climbed back inside.

Hawk walked over to the window the man described and peered outside.

Indeed, there was a small platform to stand on, and dried bloodstains remained on the wall.

Hawk reached out, touching the dried blood, then retracted his fingers and held them to his nose.

Hmm.

Definitely this man's scent.

Putting aside his doubts, Hawk turned around and asked the man, "What's your name?"

"Oss, Oss Gran, a level-three biological researcher for Osborn."

"Oss."

Hawk ignored the latter part of the man's introduction and asked, "Do you know who they are?"

Oss shook his head confusedly, the movement causing his infected ear to throb with pain.

"Where are Peter and Felicia?"

"Parker and Miss did not return that night. They were scheduled to deliver supplies to Demon Island the next day, but..."

"Wait, Demon Island?"

Hawk found the name familiar, "Isn't Demon Island in New York City?"

Oss replied with a bitter smile, "Not the Demon Island in New York City. It's the one in the Pacific Ocean. Actually, to be precise, it's called Skull Island because from above it looks just like a skull, so we refer to it as Demon Island or Skull Island."

Skull Island?

The name sounds so familiar somehow?

Hawk's mind stirred.

His Sixth Sense kicked in, and he felt the intuition about a discovery he was going to make was somehow related to this Skull Island mentioned by Oss.

No.

Not just a feeling, but a certainty.

As his Sixth Sense nudged him, Hawk thought so. Then, he lifted his head and looked seriously at Oss, who was seated on the chair.

"Are Peter and Felicia on Skull Island?"

"A month ago, we found a safe path to Skull Island, and Mr. Parker and Felicia have been there since."
