Chapter 37 - First-Mission-03

The ship groaned as chaotic winds howled around it. Metal screeched, alarms blared, and clouds of debris spun through the cockpit's fractured viewport. The entire vessel twisted violently, sucked toward the heart of a monstrous tornado that crackled with lightning.

M'gann gritted her teeth, gripping the console. "Hang on! I'm diverting full Power to the Thrusters!"

The ship shuddered, engines roaring as M'gann forced the thrusters to counter the cyclone's pull. The hull creaked, flipping into a near-inverted position before a final burst of power cut through the spiral. With a deafening boom, the ship broke free, spinning out of the vortex and slamming into the muddy terrain below. Dirt and water drenched the hull as the storm howled above.

"We're down… sort of," M'gann muttered, slumping back in relief.

Aqualad looked out through the flickering windshield. "By Atlantis… the storm—it's circling that plant." Beyond the wreckage, they could see a massive industrial complex surrounded by debris, with screaming winds tearing up the ground.

He turned sharply. "Robin! Are tornadoes common in New England?"

Silence. He scanned the cabin. Everyone was present—except Robin.

M'gann frowned, "He was just here—where could he—"

A sudden echoing laugh cut through the howling wind. It was low, manic, and familiar. Robin's laughter.

Leon smirked. "Guess the Boy Wonder learned that from Bats. But we don't have time to wait—let's move! We'll plan on the fly."

Everyone nodded. Raven floated alongside Leon, a subtle smirk on her lips. "And he says he regretted joining," she murmured before following him toward the plant.

### Inside the Storm-Scarred Plant

The entryway burst open as they stepped inside. Broken glass and loose metal swirled through the turbulent air. A rush of wind roared through the vents, forcing Raven to conjure shadow tendrils to shield the team.

Then they saw him—a towering figure clad in red and black, his body augmented with metallic tubes glowing a cold blue. Air shimmered around him in spirals of distortion.

Robin was thrown into a steel pillar by a blast of wind before Conner jumped in, catching him mid-fall. "Who's your new buddy?" he quipped.

"Didn't catch his name," Robin groaned, pushing himself up. "But he plays rough!"

Leon cracked his knuckles, smirking. "Oh, I like rough." Everyone shot him a wary glance. He rolled his eyes. "You're all children."

Raven scoffs, shaking her head.

The villain's voice echoed, filtered and mechanical. "You may address me as,

*Mr. Twister.* My apologies for the delay in introductions."

A surge of gale-force wind slammed into Raven before her shadows could strike. Conner lunged again, only to be caught midair and hurled across the room. Leon blurred forward, intercepting him midair before impact and setting him back down.

"Team!" Aqualad shouted, trying to coordinate. But Wally was already sprinting in—then immediately blown back, tumbling across the floor until Conner caught him.

Leon flung a crackling Ki bomb toward Twister. The flash blinded the android momentarily. "Now!"

M'gann and Aqualad dashed forward, tackling Twister together—only for the villain's body to convulse, releasing cyclonic waves that sent everyone sprawling.

Mr. Twister's mechanical voice boomed: "I anticipated a superhero. I was not expecting unsupervised children."

Robin hurled shuriken and compact explosives. "We're not children! "

Twister didn't even flinch. "Objectively You are,Your presence here is… disturbing."

Robin shouted, smirking. " I hate to see you disturbed, Let's see if we can make you *turbed* after we're done kicking your can!"

Leon pointed toward the ceiling. "M'gann—above him!"

She seized nearby machinery with telekinesis, yanking it down. Steam engulfed the arena. In the haze, Leon and the others advanced.

Conner and Aqualad emerged first, charging head-on. "Wait, no—!" Leon yelled, but too late. Twister unleashed a storm pulse that tore them through a wall.

Robin and Wally improvised, ricocheting off broken railings with synchronized kicks and flash bombs that forced Twister outside the plant.

Raven channeled her energy into a shadow wave that slammed the android back through the dirt. M'gann stumbled, tripping—Leon caught her wrist before she fell.

"Sorry!" she blurted.

"You're fine," Leon said, helping her up. "We're both still new at this."

### The Eye of the Storm

Outside, Mr. Twister hovered above them, eyes blazing. "Playtime is over. Adults have work to do."

Aqualad's voice cut through the storm. "M'gann—read his mind!"

She hesitated. "I thought I wasn't supposed to—"

Robin interrupted. "Bad guys are exceptions!"

Her eyes glowed—then widened. "H-he's inorganic. He's a machine linked to—wait—

" Hello M'gann that's Red tornado!! " She utters with a tilt to her head hitting her forehead.

Making everyone backtrack before Robin asks what ?

" how many androids do you know that can generate tornados " she says with a smile.

Everyone froze. The storm raged harder. Lightning cracked above.

The three proteges in rage connect the delusional thoughts about how Tornado sent them here and Robin cutting in saying it's a test making the rest of the 4 enraged and flare up.

Leon stepped forward, rage building. "You think *that's* Tornado? Use your heads! Look at Conner—he's built like Superman, but is he *Superman?* Clones, androids—it's all possible! Whether that's Tornado or not, we're taking it down."

" And for Godsakes, Are you blind or something ?.... look at how much damage and power he's using that fuckers going for the kill not to test you! "

Leon exasperated yells, " Get your minds straight !! ".

The teens enter a moment of realisation after that sentence then share a look of shame at how they twisted the situation

Aqualad ," Leon's right Tornado or not he hurt civilians we need to take him down " before their gazes harden nodding at each other, they look towards Leon making him smile.

The team snapped back into focus.

Leon turned sharply. "Robin! Tactical readout!"

"His powers are vibrational—creating tornadoes through oscillation. The pipes on his back amplify it. We cut them off, he's done."

"Perfect. Everyone, listen up," Leon said, outlining rapid-fire commands, assigning pairs for distraction, strike, and defense.

Wally, " Who made you leader ! " He asks grumbling, " Don't make me beat you like Superboy ! " Leon answers with a cold gaze, To which Wally remembers and smiles saying he was just joking.

Lightning split the sky as Twister attacked again. Robin darted and rolled, unleashing sonic disks that disrupted the airflow. Raven countered the blasts with shadow spheres that merged into a serpentine construct coiling around the villain's arm. Leon followed with a Ki-enhanced leap, kicking straight into Twister's chest, sending the machine staggering.

"Conner, now!" Leon yelled.

Conner burst from above, fists glowing red before slamming into Twister's torso. The android snarled, discharging electricity, forcing Conner back. Raven swooped in to shield him with a barrier of dark energy.

Twister in his rage, Unleashed a torrent of tornados with lightning blasting away everything in Leon's location creating a small canyon in the ground," Yep ! That's not tornado !! " Robin exclaims looking at the amount of damage that attack caused could've severely damaged even Conner.

Wally zipped in, circling Twister in a blur until sparks caught between his trail and Aqualad's electrified whips. "Now, Buzz him!" Wally yelled. Aqualad unleashed a charge, stunning the android.

Robin saw an opening, his eyes narrowing. "Cut those pipes!" He flipped forward, drawing twin blades coated with explosive gel. With a spinning strike, he severed multiple ducts from Twister's back as Leon jumped overhead, channeling energy into his sword.

"clear out!" Leon shouted.

The moment everyone pulled back, he unleashed a focused Ki blast straight into Twister's core. The explosion echoed across the valley, flames licking the storm clouds. When the dust cleared, Twister's severed head rolled to the ground.

Silence. Then a sigh of relief rippled through the team.

Raven approached Leon quietly. "You were incredible back there."

He grinned. "So were you."

Behind them, Robin and Wally were already cheering. "Pizza party!"

Leon laughed. "You read my mind. Pizza's on me."

The team's laughter echoed against the calm, broken horizon as the winds finally began to die.
