Miles, having camouflaged himself, crawled upward and quickly reached the insertion point for The Gadget. However, his movement suddenly stopped. Just at the insertion point, a massive, armored figure hung inverted. Four mechanical legs, a long stinger tail—it was The Scorpion!
"Kid, you finally showed up!" The Scorpion snarled, his eyes fixed on the camouflaged Miles.
Miles was startled. His uncle had told him that his camouflage could sometimes evade infrared detection. Theoretically, by slowing down, he could minimize the heat signature his movement generated, making him undetectable. He shouldn't have been found.
However, there was no time to think. The Scorpion's tail stinger lashed out violently toward him. Miles was startled and immediately scrambled backward.
and The Prowler prepared to charge the other side.
He had no confidence in defeating The Scorpion, so he decided to leave the villain's line of sight first and look for an opportunity elsewhere.
However, there was no way The Scorpion would let him go so easily. The kid was on the Boss's kill list!
The Scorpion launched himself forward with immense force. Miles, sensing the immediate danger, was so scared that his Wall-Crawling ability temporarily failed, and he plummeted due to gravity. Fortunately, he remembered how to use the web-shooters in mid-air and quickly shot a web to swing toward a distant anchor point.
The Scorpion recognized the boy's inexperience and chased him with a cruel snarl. The two jumped from structure to structure in a chase. Although Miles never engaged in direct combat, the spider-genetics granted him a superhuman physique and Spider-Sense. While he couldn't face The Scorpion directly, he couldn't be easily caught either.
The Scorpion was furious but helpless. The scorpion is the spider's natural predator, but if the spider keeps swinging out of reach, the scorpion is useless. What The Scorpion didn't know was that the young spider he was chasing possessed immense potential. Under the pressure of the chase, that potential was beginning to rapidly unlock...
... CRASH! Peter (Earth-616) was caught off guard by a ferocious claw swipe from The Green Goblin, sending him flying backward to slam heavily against a metal wall.
"Cough! Cough!" Peter gripped the wall with one hand, sticking himself to the surface, and rubbed his chest with the other. This Green Goblin was an overpowered monster! Massive strength, incredible speed, high durability, and, crucially, he could fly! He was infinitely stronger than the other versions Peter knew, who relied on human-sized armor and gliders!
In the distance, Gwen and Peni were still grappling with the monster. But the webs they shot were having no noticeable effect on The Green Goblin. They tried wrapping several thick strands around its wings, attempting to strip its flight ability. But the Goblin simply tore the webs off with one swipe of its hand, launching itself back into the air. These webs, which were supposed to be over 100 times tougher than human bone and 25 times stronger than high-tensile steel, only delayed the monster for a few seconds! What was its weakness?
Peter observed the Goblin's movements, his mind racing.
"Agh—" Just as Peter was mentally strategizing, Gwen let out a cry of pain. She had been caught by the Goblin's enormous hand. The Goblin's hand was massive, perfectly enveloping Gwen's body. It squeezed hard, clearly intending to crush her!
Peni panicked, piloting her SP//dr mech onto the Goblin's shoulder and unleashing a flurry of combo punches directly at its face. But The Green Goblin's intellect was very high; after all, it was the mad persona derived from the brilliant scientist Norman Osborn! It merely used its free hand to block Peni's critical strikes, focusing the majority of its strength on crushing Gwen. The intent was clear: Eliminate one opponent first!
Seeing this, Peter couldn't afford to observe any longer. He shot two webs simultaneously, one to each of the Goblin's shoulders. "Norman, look at me!" Peter roared. Using the webbing's pull and the explosive force in his legs, he accelerated to maximum speed in an instant, swinging straight toward the Goblin's head.
"ROAR—" The Goblin roared back. It sensed the threat in Peter's web-slinging attack and rapidly flapped its wings, trying to destabilize Peter's trajectory. The move was effective. Peter's web anchor points moved with the Goblin, naturally disrupting his center of gravity.
But this was exactly what Peter wanted! Attack where the enemy must defend!Feint east, strike west!
His true target was Gwen, who was caught in the Goblin's vice-like grip! Peter slammed a kick into the air, aiming for the Goblin's wrist area. The combined force of the swing and his enhanced leg muscles made the kick incredibly powerful, knocking the Goblin's hand sideways. When a normal person's wrist is violently struck, they momentarily lose their grip strength. Peter's hand wasn't large enough to grab the Goblin's wrist, but his kick achieved a similar effect. The Goblin's grip instinctively loosened slightly.
Gwen's slender body slipped through the gaps between the Goblin's fingers. Peter immediately detached his web, launched himself off the Goblin's hand, caught Gwen in mid-air, and swung them both to a nearby platform, gently setting her down.
Gwen was gasping for air, her consciousness barely clinging on from the crushing force. Peter quickly pinched her philtrum (acupressure point). But it seemed ineffective. Seeing Gwen's barely moving chest, Peter gritted his teeth, pulled up her mask, took a deep breath, and administered a breath into her lips. After a frantic moment, Gwen's consciousness cleared slightly.
Gwen's face flushed slightly as she looked up at Peter's face, which was inches from her own. She wasn't angry. Though her consciousness had been fading, she had a basic awareness of external events. She knew Peter was saving her life.
Meeting Gwen's clear eyes, Peter's own cheeks reddened: "Ahem, well, are you okay now?" Gwen nodded. Although her entire body ached, the spider-genetics provided strong healing capabilities, and she was already recovering rapidly. Her body was healing fast.
Peter nodded, stood up: "I need to go back and help Peni immediately. You rest here." With that, he turned and practically fled, swinging back toward The Green Goblin.
His statement was true. Without Gwen and Peter's distraction, Peni was now fighting the Green Goblin alone. In just a few dozen seconds, she was already in dire straits. Fortunately, Peter returned to the battle just in time, preventing her from being immediately overwhelmed. However, without the skilled warrior Gwen, Peter and Peni's situation remained precarious!
"Hey, guys, looks like you need a little help?" Just then, a steady voice tinged with sarcasm rang out. Peter's eyes lit up with relief.
