Three weeks after successfully resolving the supplier crisis, Marcus and Emma's life returned to a more normal rhythm, though still carrying the energy from the momentum of success they had just achieved together.
It was evening, around nine o'clock at night. The office was closed. The team had gone home. Yet Marcus was still in his workspace, finishing some pending documents. Emma came bringing food she had bought on her way home from work. She knew that Marcus often forgot to eat when he was focused on work.
"You need to eat," Emma said while placing a food container on Marcus's desk. "It's already nine at night. Your body needs fuel to keep working."
Marcus looked up from the documents with a grateful expression but also slightly exhausted.
"Thank you, Em," Marcus said, using the nickname he often called Emma. "I'm almost done here. Don't wait for me at home later. I'll come home around eleven or midnight."
