Chapter 22 - chapter 22

Indra arrived in the Land of Hot Water within half a day. However, the first thing he did wasn't look for his target. Instead, he headed straight to one of the region's famous hot springs to relax.

Indra let out a comfortable sigh as he leaned back in the hot spring, enjoying the warmth of the water.

It was incredibly relaxing. All the fatigue from his training and journey seemed to disappear as he soaked in the hot spring. Honestly, it was a heavenly feeling.

After spending some time there, he finally got up, changed into a fresh yukata provided by the inn, and ordered himself some food.

Now, some might be wondering whether he should be looking for his target instead of casually enjoying a hot spring.

Well, there was no need to worry about that.

Indra had already sent out several Shadow Clones to search for the target. He had also instructed them to dispel themselves as soon as they located him. After all, he wanted to enjoy his meal before getting a little exercise.

And so, he continued eating without a care in the world.

After finishing his food, he suddenly received a surge of information from one of his Shadow Clones.

Apparently, they had already located the target.

With a faint smile, Indra paid his bill, changed back into his usual clothes, and headed towards the location using the Lightning Flicker Technique.

Upon arriving at the location, which was situated behind a mountain, Indra noticed several bandits gathered together.

What caught his attention, however, was that all of them seemed to possess chakra.

Although their chakra levels were relatively low, barely reaching the level of an ordinary Genin, it appeared that this rogue shinobi named Eno was trying to establish some sort of gang by recruiting them.

Well, whatever. It wasn't particularly important.

With that thought, Indra calmly began walking towards them.

Hearing the approaching footsteps, the rogue shinobi, Eno, and his subordinates turned their heads towards him.

"What the hell do you want, brat? You'd better scram if you know what's good for you."

The rogue shinobi spoke with a rather unpleasant grin.

"Hey, boss! How about we beat this brat up and sell him to some nobles? With a pretty face like that, he'd probably fetch a good price!"

One of the goons suggested with a twisted smile.

Honestly, it was disgusting.

However, before the rogue shinobi could even respond to his subordinate, the man's head suddenly slipped off his shoulders.

A moment later, the sound of a blade being sheathed echoed through the area.

Everyone turned towards Indra.

He was calmly returning his katana to its sheath.

Seeing this, Eno's expression twisted in anger.

It was already difficult enough to find people with chakra and recruit them into his little group. And now, some brat had casually walked in and killed one of his men right in front of him.

This was an outright insult!

He, Eno, would one day become the supreme leader of the Land of Hot Water!

"All of you! Gang up on that kid! I want his head!"

Eno shouted furiously.

His subordinates immediately rushed towards Indra, their faces filled with killing intent.

Indra, however, didn't even bother changing his expression.

He simply stood there, watching them approach with a faint, disdainful smile. One hand rested casually on the handle of his katana.

In the next instant, his figure disappeared.

A brief flash of movement.

The sound of blades being drawn.

And before anyone could even react, several heads flew into the air, followed by splashes of blood.

Silence fell over the area.

Eno's eyes widened in absolute shock.

He couldn't believe what had just happened.

A kid who looked barely old enough to have finished growing his hair had just slaughtered all of his subordinates in an instant.

The contempt he had previously felt towards Indra completely disappeared.

This wasn't an ordinary brat.

The boy was at least on the same level as him, if not stronger.

Eno immediately realized that he needed to take this opponent seriously.

Taking a deep breath, he began weaving hand seals.

Indra, on the other hand, didn't bother interrupting him. Instead, he simply watched with mild amusement.

This only served to irritate the rogue shinobi even further.

"Brat! You'll pay for your arrogance!"

With an angry shout, Eno unleashed his Ninjutsu.

"Water Style: Wild Water Wave!"

A high-pressure stream of water erupted from his mouth, spreading forward like a violent wave. The attack swept towards Indra with enough force to wash him away and destroy everything in its path.

A cloud of dust and mist soon covered the area.

"Take that, brat!"

Eno laughed triumphantly.

"Do you really think so?"

A calm voice suddenly sounded beside his ears.

Eno's blood ran cold.

Before he could even turn around, his eyes met a pair of crimson Sharingan, with three tomoe slowly revolving within them.

Then came the sound of a blade slicing through flesh.

The upper half of Eno's body slowly slipped away from the lower half.

With what little consciousness remained, he could only stare in disbelief.

"When… did you…?"

Indra calmly answered his opponent's final question. While his Sharingan glowed with faint amusement.

"What gave you the illusion that you were ever my match?"

Unfortunately, Eno was already dead and couldn't hear his response.

Indra casually took out a sealing scroll and stored the rogue shinobi's body inside it.

With that, his mission was officially complete.

Of course, that didn't mean he intended to return to Konoha immediately. He still planned to spend a few more days relaxing in the Land of Hot Water.

After all, it wasn't every day he got an opportunity to enjoy such a pleasant place.

However, while thinking about his future plans, he suddenly sensed someone approaching at an incredible speed.

More importantly, the person's chakra signature was surprisingly large.

Indra turned his attention towards the approaching individual.

A few moments later, a young man appeared.

He looked to be in his early twenties and wore something resembling a monk's outfit. However, unlike ordinary monks, his robes were blood-red and covered in strange ancient symbols that gave off a rather sinister impression.

His skin was sickly pale, and he had black hair and equally dark eyes.

Yet, the most noticeable thing about him wasn't his appearance.

It was his chakra.

His entire chakra signature seemed to be wrapped in an unusual, blood-like aura.

The moment the young man spotted Indra, he suddenly burst into laughter.

"Hahahahaha! Finally! I've found a worthy opponent!"

His laughter echoed through the surroundings.

"Do you have any idea how long I've been craving a proper fight?! I heard there were several shinobi gathering around here, but it seems someone already beat me to them before I could arrive!"

He glanced at the fallen bodies scattered around the area before turning his attention back to Indra.

"Well, it doesn't matter. You seem like a far more interesting opponent anyway!"

With that, the young man opened his mouth.

A high-pressure stream of blood suddenly shot towards Indra!

Indra immediately used the Lightning Flicker Technique to evade the incoming attack.

However, his expression changed slightly.

'Wait… Is that blood manipulation from JJK?'

He quickly dismissed the thought.

'No, wait. My Sharingan can detect the moisture and Yang Release chakra within that blood…'

His eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the strange phenomenon.

'Is this some kind of new Kekkei Genkai? Blood Release? That's certainly something new.'

A faint smile appeared on his face.

'Hopefully, this battle turns out to be interesting.'

"Oh? That's a nice reaction!"

Surprisingly, the young man didn't seem frustrated that his attack had missed. Instead, he laughed even louder, seemingly delighted by Indra's reaction.

"But we're only getting started!"

In the next instant, he closed the distance between them and launched a series of Taijutsu attacks.

Indra calmly deflected each strike, his Sharingan effortlessly tracking his opponent's movements.

However, there was something unusual about his fighting style.

His attack patterns were completely unpredictable. It was almost like fighting a wild beast that relied entirely on instinct rather than any conventional martial arts technique.

Even so, Indra had no trouble keeping up.

Naturally, he was holding back most of his abilities. He wanted to enjoy this fight rather than end it immediately.

During their exchange, he also noticed something interesting.

His opponent seemed capable of using his Blood Release to harden his skin, significantly increasing his physical durability.

And soon enough, the young man demonstrated exactly what he could do.

"Blood Release: Blood Armor!"

The man's blood vessels began glowing with a reddish light beneath his skin. Almost immediately, his defensive capabilities increased sharply.

His strikes also became noticeably stronger, while his overall endurance seemed to improve.

Observing these changes, Indra's eyes widened slightly in surprise.

'Now that's interesting.'

The technique reminded him of a certain ability used by the Quincies in Bleach.

It wasn't exactly the same, of course, but the similarities were certainly worth noting.

Looking at his opponent, Indra became even more interested.

A completely unfamiliar bloodline limit, combined with a fighting style that resembled a wild beast relying purely on instinct.

This individual was clearly someone who hadn't existed in the original storyline.

'Well, this is certainly an unexpected discovery.'

Thinking about it, Indra decided that it was time to test one of his newer techniques as well.

With a chakra-enhanced kick, he sent his opponent flying several metres backwards.

However, the young man quickly recovered.

'His endurance is pretty impressive.'

Indra glanced at him before raising one of his hands.

Suddenly, lightning began gathering around his palm.

The crackling electricity gradually took shape, forming a slender, elongated bow. Its design was rather unusual, with a narrow triangular frame and exceptionally sharp edges.

At the same time, an arrow began materializing beside it.

It possessed a perfectly straight, narrow body composed of densely compressed chakra. Its surface was smooth and crystalline, while its pointed tip was designed for piercing through its target.

The appearance was almost identical to the bows and arrows used by the Quincies in Bleach.

Of course, Indra had taken inspiration from their weapons and recreated the concept using his own Lightning Release chakra.

He looked at his opponent with a faint smile.

"Now then, shall we begin our feast?"

Indra spoke elegantly, his expression carrying a hint of amusement.

His opponent looked at the newly formed weapon and grinned.

"With pleasure!"
