One rainy evening, Aki insisted she would make dinner herself. Lua, of course, volunteered to "supervise."
Three hours later, the kitchen looked like a tornado had passed through. Flour covered the counters, noodles were stuck to the ceiling, and Aki was covered in sauce. Lua stood behind her, holding his stomach, laughing so hard he could barely breathe.
"Aki! What happened?!" he gasped, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes.
"I… I tried! But the recipe lied! The noodles… they jumped… and then…" she gestured wildly at the mess, "it was a disaster!"
Lua shook his head, still laughing. "You're hopeless… and I love it."
Aki pouted, hands on her hips. "Hopeless? I am your wife! You're supposed to defend me!"
"I defend you?" he asked, chuckling. "Against… spaghetti?"
"Yes! Against the world! And… jealous women too!"
Lua finally bent down, hugging her from behind. "Don't worry, kitten. You're my chaotic, adorable, impossible wife. I wouldn't trade you for anything."
Aki rested her head against his chest, smiling triumphantly. "Good. Then you belong to me. Forever."
Lua pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Forever… and always."
And that was just a normal evening in the Shinglasn household: messy, chaotic, hilarious, and full of love.
