I looked at her, still trying to process everything she had just said. I nodded once and said, "Let's go home."
I reached for her hand, and she slipped her fingers between mine like it was the most natural thing in the world. We walked back to the car quietly. I'd already paid for our meal.
I opened the door for her, she got in, and I walked around to the driver's side. The moment I started the car, she turned her face to the window, but I could see her smile in the reflection.
The drive back wasn't long, but it felt like forever. I kept thinking of her words: I want to sign it tonight. I want you tonight.
I gripped the steering wheel tighter. I couldn't wait to get home. I wanted to do so many dirty things to her that neither of us would be able to recover from.
When we finally got home, I stepped out quickly and walked around to open her door.
