I opened my eyes slowly, blinking. There were extremely bright lights above me and there was a sharp pain in my neck. For a second, I couldn't place where I was. The air smelled like disinfectant and the slow realization of where I was hit me. A hospital? Again? What happened to me?
My head felt so heavy, and when I tried to sit up, I felt a sharp pain on my forehead. I let out a small groan and dropped back against the pillow.
A woman rushed to my side immediately. I had never seen her before. She looked to be in her thirties, with straight black hair pulled into a low ponytail. She pressed her hand gently on my shoulder.
"Don't move," she said. "The doctors are coming."
My throat felt dry. "Why… why am I here? What happened to me?"
"You were in an accident," she said softly. "I managed to get to you on time and brought you to the hospital."
