Serena
Damien's eyes stayed fixed on mine. I could tell that he wasn't going to let it go until I answered him. Plus I know Damien, if I didn't give him a satisfactory response, we would be here all day. But instead of answering him immediately, a mischievous idea crept into my head.
"Why are you asking? Are you jealous?"
"Don't play with me like that, Serena. You're my wife and if you're already about to start an affair, might as well give me a heads up." He said it with so much calmness but I knew Damien. He'd probably track whoever it was and gut his organs out.
"So you think I've started an affair with someone?" I asked.
"You're over complicating things now, I just asked a simple question."
I let out a tired sigh. "He's just a colleague, Damien."
His eyes narrowed slightly. "A colleague?"
"Yes," I said, keeping my voice calm. "I wasn't cheating on you. I wasn't doing anything wrong. We just talked. That's all."
