I didn't look at Damien again after walking into the house. I headed straight upstairs, took off my shoes, and walked into the bathroom.
I stepped into the shower, turned on the warm water, and let it run down my back. The heat from the water helped to calm my body, but it wasn't enough to make me feel completely better. Damien always knew how to get under my skin, and today he did it perfectly.
The worst part was that I didn't even know how to stay angry at him. I tried, every single time, but somehow I always found myself forgiving him. I couldn't even pretend to be angry at him either.
My mind went back to how he lifted me and carried me all the way to the car. Yes, I was annoyed and overly worried about what people would think but a huge part of me was happy and enjoyed stretching his limits. I am really hopeless at this point.
