12:00pm....
Outside....
Kuro was looking at a whole crowd of them, and all of them were carrying anti-mutant signs, like, (No to Mutants, Monster = Mutant, Eliminate the Virus, etc.), and all of them were standing near an entrance where the army soldiers guarding the entrance had set up two fences and aimed some of their weapons towards them. The protesters hadn't approached them, but that didn't mean they had stopped what they were doing; they continued shouting towards them.
"Wow, there are so many," Kuro spoke, staring at the large crowd. Meanwhile, he was slowly advancing, and one of the soldiers noticed him immediately.
"You??" the soldier asked skeptically.
"Oh, that voice. You're that soldier who accompanied me downstairs. I have a question," Kuro asked, pointing his finger towards the crowd. "Since when did they become this large?"
"Since you came," he spoke in a cold tone carrying some anger.
"Well, my fault. I shouldn't have come here through the front door. I made a lot of people angry at me."
"Indeed," the soldier spoke, narrowing his eyes behind his helmet.
"Alright, it's work time," after finishing his sentence, Kuro moved forward.
"What are you doing?"
"Handling my mess. That's my problem. I'll handle it myself."
"Hey, how will you-"
Kuro jumped and cleared the fence, landing directly in front of the crowd. When the soldier saw this, he shouted angrily,
"Hey, stop and come back immediately!-
Mutant!
"Look, it's a mutant! A mutant came out!"
It was already too late. The crowd was looking towards Kuro and pointing their fingers at him. When they saw him, they screamed at him and started throwing various kinds of trash at him, but most of it bounced off due to his strength and didn't cause him any harm.
Some even raised sticks and hit Kuro.
"Die, mutant!"
"Go back to where you belong!"
"Filthy monster!"
They were waving sticks and hitting him, although it had no effect as his skin wasn't bothered. While they were hitting him, it felt as if they were hitting a mountain with wooden sticks. Despite this, they continued hitting him.
Kuro looked at them without any expression while they kept hitting him. The surroundings around him shook as he released his pressure across the entire line of the crowd. Then, their bodies trembled, and they all stopped what they were doing. The people who were hitting him with sticks trembled, fell to the ground, and wet themselves.
The entire crowd trembled completely, and the army was puzzled by what had happened, except for one soldier who knew what Kuro had done and knew what had afflicted them.
Fear is primal. It's the thing that stimulates human instincts to retreat and survive. It's engraved in the soul of humanity, and regardless of the era, people still possess it. Kuro used that fear to his advantage against them.
All the protesters, without exception, were afraid and fell completely silent, while Kuro advanced and they slowly retreated from his path. He walked as if he were a celebrity in the middle of the people, and when he had completely left...
He left everyone present here bewildered, and the soldier let out a relieved sigh.
"Clever boy."
....
Kuro walked forward, feeling eyes staring at him from everywhere, but he continued to ignore them. He reached Olson's apartment building and went up. He went up to the fifth floor of the apartments and looked towards a specific room.
He was now looking at a solid iron door, looking as if it were a shelter door from a world war. This was Olson's room door. He had gone to him about the rent problem.
"Knock knock!"
"Hmm... He's not here?... Well, he'll come to me. No need to rush."
After confirming that no one was there, Kuro prepared to go back and saw something. He saw a green slime cleaning the floors and walls, polishing them.
"Oh, this... The slime belongs to my neighbor in apartment 876. He lives near Olson's apartment. They only move when he wakes up. I haven't seen him personally; perhaps he's more of a recluse than me."
"It's really strange that there are only 5 tenants in a large apartment building like this. Well, that's good for me; no noise," Kuro spoke as he went to his apartment on the third floor.
"Here I am, I'm back. Hello, beautiful home," Kuro spoke as he opened his apartment door.
His apartment was completely devoid of life. The floor was covered in dust, and there were dirty dishes in the kitchen, as if no one had...
"Let me open the curtains."
Kuro opened the curtains and saw the people below doing their usual work. He contemplated the view, and while he was contemplating, he saw something.
He saw a blue light shining from a distance.
"What is this?"
He saw the light starting to shine brighter and brighter, until...
Boom!
Something like an arrow or a bullet headed towards him and almost blew up the wall of Kuro's room, hitting him. He was thrown back, hit two walls, went from one apartment to another until he hit the wall of another apartment, creating a hole in his shirt, but it didn't pierce his skin. However, Kuro had an annoyed expression on his face.
"Who the fuck?"
Kuro looked from behind the smoke curtain and saw two figures standing and slowly advancing towards him. Kuro narrowed his eyes, looking to see who they were.
There were two people wearing strange suits that Kuro was seeing for the first time. One was wearing a suit of armor like a medieval knight but with a technological touch, and they were different from each other. The first one was wearing heavy silver armor, flying using a metal boot with a blue jet device, and carrying a sword and a large serrated shield.
The other was completely different. The other was blue, wearing light armor and carrying a large crossbow, more like a rocket launcher, and smoke was coming out of its muzzle. He was also flying using his jet boots. There was a blood-red hand symbol on both of their suits.
"Hey, you idiot, didn't you say you fired at full power?" the silver one shouted at the blue one.
"I hit him, look at his shirt, but maybe it didn't cause enough damage. This hunter is of a higher rank than we were told."
"Doesn't matter, we'll finish this and get out of here," the knight spoke as he brandished his sword towards Kuro.
"Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I have a question," Kuro asked as he stood up, and both knights looked at him.
"May I know, why the hell are two lovers from final fantasy trying to blow up my apartment and kill me?"
"Final fantasy?" the silver knight asked, turning to the blue one before looking back at Kuro and laughing. "Pfft, hey, seriously? Do you really think we are...? You have good comedic timing despite the situation, you mutant," he spoke, pointing at him.
"Let's finish this quickly. I promised my daughter I'd take her to the amusement park," the blue knight spoke with a cold expression.
"Yeah, I forgot that. Sorry, kid, nothing personal, but you have to die. Here."
As soon as he finished speaking, the two knights charged at Kuro to kill him, and the blue one fired a large arrow at him.
Kuro lowered his body and avoided the arrow, but the moment it passed, the silver knight appeared and swung his sword down at Kuro.
Bom!
The strike was so powerful that it created a crater.
"Oh, did he die that quickly?" the silver knight asked in a joking tone.
Kuro had gone upwards, jumped towards the silver knight, and hit him with his fist.
Bammmm!
But Kuro's attack was completely blocked by the shield that the knight raised, shocking Kuro and making him open his eyes in surprise.
"What the?"
"Huff, surprised to see an ordinary person like me have the ability to face a hunter like you?" the silver knight mocked Kuro while gritting his teeth and swinging his sword at him.
As Kuro retreated, the blue one charged and fired an endless stream of arrows, like a machine gun. Kuro ran while the projectiles chased him.
"Ordinary person? Does he mean these are just ordinary people wearing suits? Damn, what's happening here?" Kuro thought while avoiding the bullets.
"Don't get distracted during a fight!" the silver knight shouted, charging like a bull.
The silver one charged at Kuro and hit him with his serrated shield. Kuro raised his arms and blocked the attack, but the force of the impact made him crash into an apartment. Kuro used his feet, firmly planted them, and stopped his retreat, then kicked the silver knight, who crashed into another wall and staggered for a second.
"Damn, can you at least tell me what your deal with me is anyway?"
"I'm sorry, buddy, we maintain confidentiality, especially towards dead targets."
"Let me guess, you're a hired assassin sent by one of those protesters, aren't you?" he spoke while avoiding an attack and retreating, while the blue knight arrived and fired three arrows at Kuro, who jumped onto another wall and clung to it before jumping towards him, and the silver knight blocked. "I bet it's one of those who wet themselves."
"How dare you!" the silver knight shouted angrily, waving his sword furiously at Kuro. "How dare you insult our leader like that!"
"Your leader?" Kuro repeated the silver knight's words while retreating.
"You idiot!" the blue one shouted angrily and fired an arrow, which Kuro caught with his hand.
"Hey, wait, are you criminals?" Kuro asked, aiming the arrow at both of them.
"Yes, but we prefer businessmen, because we do respectable work," the red knight spoke.
"Ooh, you're gangsters. I see now," Kuro spoke with a relieved expression.
Both knights looked at him with a puzzled expression. They felt something was wrong.
"What makes you so relieved like that?"
"Because I thought you were a secret group or mercenaries, but seeing that you're gangsters wearing knight armor..."
"This means I can get serious now."
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
While he was speaking, Kuro's arm had transformed into a werewolf arm. Both of them felt strange.
"What the hell is this? Is this his ability?" the blue knight asked.
"Pfft, do you really think we'd be scared just because your hand looks more like your true form?" the silver knight mocked.
Kuro moved and threw the arrow at the silver knight with speed, hitting his suit and sending him flying away.
"Damn!" the silver knight screamed as he crashed into an apartment wall.
"What the fuck!?" the blue knight screamed when he saw his companion sent flying by the arrow that Kuro had caught just a moment ago.
When he turned, he saw Kuro above him, with the werewolf arm about to strike him. The blue knight tried to react, but he was too late. He was hit powerfully downwards, making him fall through two entire floors.
"Aggghhhhg!"
"My body... I can't feel my body." The knight looked up, trying to lift his head, and saw that the armor on his chest had been crushed and bent by Kuro's strength.
"These suits are supposed to protect us from attacks of D-rank monster leaders! How can this happen!?" he thought in pain.
"The leader didn't tell me anything about this! He said we were going hunting for an animal, but this boy is a monster! I need to get out before he reaches__"
"This one."
Kuro appeared, close to him, and was about to kill him. The blue knight felt terrified.
"Hey, hey! Please stop! I have a daughter!"
"Don't care."
Booom!
With a strike that shook the entire apartment building, the knight's helmet was completely violently crushed. A dent appeared in the helmet, and blood was coming out of all its openings.
"Hey, are you okay__"
"No..... No," The silver knight looked with a terrified expression; his companion was dead, and Kuro's hand was covered in blood. He looked at him with pure anger. "... You! You! How dare you! You animal!" the red knight screamed as he struck his sword towards him with all his strength.
"Animal? I'm just human," Kuro spoke while catching the sword with his hand.
"What? How?"
Before he could answer, Kuro struck his arm with force, and the mechanical arm twisted strangely.
"Aaaaarrrrrggggggghhhhhh!"
The silver knight screamed in pain, and Kuro kicked him, shattered the suit's armor, and completely tore off the arm. The knight flew towards an apartment wall and collapsed under it.
"Wow, you look like a crab, hard on the outside and soft on the inside," Kuro spoke, throwing the knight's arm away.
"You... you monster! How can you do something like this!?"
"Nothing personal, it's just business, isn't it?" Kuro replied to the silver knight's words.
"But you're supposed to be a hero! How can you kill in cold blood!"
"It's simple," Kuro spoke, kneeling on the mechanic's chest.
"What?" the knight asked in shock.
"I'm not a hero. I'm a hunter, and a hunter hunts his enemies. Now, can you tell me about your leader? There are two ways, the easy way or..."
"The hard way," he spoke, and the werewolf claws approached the knight's face.
"Ah..... ah..... aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!"
