The third layer of the Underworld had opened. The corrupted matter born from Beelzebub's mutation surged outward uncontrollably. Mereoleona tried to burn it back with magic—but it was useless.
The purple-black geLadinous substance devoured mana itself.
Citizens of the Spade Kingdom's capital fled in panic, while entire battalions of lesser and mid-tier demons were swallowed whole by the spreading corruption.
"Everyone, fall back!" Mereoleona roared, trying to slow the advance of the dark matter while ordering the evacuation.
"I finally got out! Hahahahaha!" Lucifero burst from Dante's collapsing body.
When the Gate of Hades opened to the third stage, the King of Devils could use his original power to escape prematurely.
A deep, jagged crack ran through the ground — the scar left by Jack's final, all-out attack. Dante lay nearby, lifeless, his body having been destroyed when Lucifero emerged.
He'd been a pawn from start to finish — and his end came at the hands of his own ambition.
"How is that possible?" Lucifero's expression twisted in rage as he suddenly sensed the demonic power he'd left behind on the seventh level of Hades fading away.
Without hesitation, he bolted toward the Gate of Hades.
"No more fighting."
To keep his identity hidden, Lucius fought Yuno and Magic Knight Captains fiercely, using only Space Magic and Bone Magic to push them to the brink.
But then — in that desperate moment — Yuno awakened his true, inherited power.
Star Magic.
His mother wielded Moon Magic. His father, Sun Magic. And Yuno — their son — inherited the power of the stars themselves.
His Wind Magic had always been borrowed — lent to him by the spirit of the Elf Chief's son. But now, he possessed dual magic of his own.
The surge in his strength was overwhelming.
Lucius, relying only on Bone and Space Magic, was no match.
With a swift strike, Yuno's Star Sword pierced through "Zenon's" chest.
"I—"
"Zenon" looked down in disbelief before collapsing, dead by Yuno's hand.
"Yuno! We won!" Rill shouted with relief.
"Go. Support the other teams," Yuno replied calmly, turning toward Vanica's chamber.
Neither noticed as a dark shadow slithered out from Zenon's corpse and raced toward Dante's room — where it devoured his remains whole.
"There's only one left… But why is Lucifero heading for the Gate of Hades?"
Lucius's true body appeared in the shadows of the room. The ones that died were merely his puppets.
He smiled faintly. "Once I devour Vanica… I'll go see what that fool Lucifero is doing."
Beyond absorbing Dante and the others, his next goal was clear — to claim Lucifero's body itself.
"You're no longer useful."
Vanica's battle had reached its end. She couldn't overpower Charlotte, who had awakened new strength. With the aid of Dorothy and Kaisar, the crazed Dark Triad woman was finally cornered.
Megicula had no choice but to act. She emerged from Vanica's body, draining her host's life force to replenish her own.
"Dragon Blast!"
A blinding light filled the chamber.
Adam burst from a rift in space — his body overflowing with divine power, his Rabbit Talisman pushed to its absolute limit. He'd even gained unexpected strength within the dimensional rift.
"Adam!" Charlotte's voice carried relief — and something softer — as she saw him.
Megicula unleashed her curse magic, reflecting the energy blast straight back at Charlotte. Kaisar reacted instantly, summoning a vortex to absorb and deflect it. The attack dispersed with a thunderous crash.
Curses — the power to speak and make reality obey.
"Everyone! Together!"
Feeling a dark premonition, Adam gathered his divine energy and unleashed a concentrated beam straight at Megicula.
"Briar Magic: Flower of Thorns!"
"Dream Magic: Dream Space!"
Charlotte and Dorothy attacked in unison. Kaisar, drained from the previous clash, could no longer contribute.
"You're all really asking for it."
With a blur, Megicula vanished. The energy beam hit nothing but air.
When she reappeared, Charlotte's thorn vines lashed out, wrapping around her body. Dorothy's Dream Magic instantly swallowed the demon.
"Release!"
The black curse energy burst outward, tearing apart the dream world and corroding the thorns themselves.
"As expected of Curse Magic…"
Adam's eyes sharpened, his aura surging. In a flash, he charged straight at her.
"Take my punch!"
Megicula teleported again — but before she could counter, a voice echoed:
"Star Magic: Starfall!"
Yuno's radiant starlight struck Megicula, freezing her in place. Adam appeared before her in an instant, pressing his glowing palm to her head.
"Horse Talisman — Drive Away All Evil!"
A pure white light engulfed Megicula's body. The sound of sizzling flesh filled the air as the smell of burnt demon rose.
"AHH! How… how could I be defeated by a human?!"
Megicula's body disintegrated into ash — like a vampire burning in sunlight.
"Adam…" Charlotte ran to him and hugged him, her cheeks flushed, as Dorothy stirred awake beside them.
Adam smiled, gently patting Charlotte's head. "Let's go. Save Yami and William."
The group hurried toward the altar — where Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance lay, barely clinging to life.
"Things are getting troublesome…"
Lucius emerged from the shadows once again. After absorbing Vanica, his power had evolved.
Bones + Blood + Flesh + Soul.
Four magics — merged into one.
He smiled, his voice calm yet godlike. "Even gods are no better than this."
Then, silently, he vanished again — heading toward the Gate of Hades to confront Lucifero.
"I finally made it."
Ladin's journey through the Underworld had gone smoothly. He now stood in its deepest layer — the final floor.
At the center of that hellish space lay a colossal demon body — sealed within a magical formation. And atop it… bloomed a single, glowing white lotus.
"Lightning Magic: Thunder God Slash!"
Ladin conjured a sword of crackling lightning and slashed the magic circle.
CLANG!
The thunder blade struck the barrier. Cracks spread like spiderwebs.
With a deafening shatter, the seal broke. A surge of demonic energy erupted outward, making Ladin's eyes gleam with greed.
He could feel it — if he consumed this power, he might become unstoppable.
The mana in his body boiled, his muscles twitching with anticipation.
"Baby… I'm coming."
He lunged forward and seized the Demon's body.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!"
Lucifero roared, bursting back into the Underworld like a man possessed.
He tore through layers of black matter and descended straight toward his lair.
"What the hell—?!"
Ladin didn't hesitate. He swallowed the Demon's body — and the white lotus — whole.
A crazed grin spread across his face. "So cool! (^▽^)"
"SPIT IT OUT!"
Lucifero's furious roar echoed through the entirety of the Underworld.
