"Who are you?"
Lucifero's fist was caught—effortlessly—by Ladin.
That look of arrogance and disdain on Ladin's face made the Demon King's blood boil.
"I am the master here," Ladin said flatly.
Lucifero threw another punch, but Ladin didn't even dodge. The demon's fist landed square on his face.
"Are you tickling me?"
In the next instant, Ladin grabbed Lucifero's arms and pulled—hard.
Crack!
Both of Lucifero's arms were ripped clean off.
"Ahhh! I'll kill you!"
Green blood oozed from his torn shoulders as the Demon King howled in fury. The demonic energy across the entire underworld surged toward him.
With a pop, his arms regenerated instantly.
Ladin just stood there watching, calm and unbothered. He wasn't the weak boy who once got slaughtered by bandits.
"Guess I'll have a little fun with you," he said with a grin.
Ladin's fist slammed into Lucifero's face, and Lucifero retaliated with a vicious elbow strike.
The two demons clashed relentlessly—bang, bang, bang—their fight shaking the layers of Hades.
Lucifero fought with hatred, but Ladin only grew more excited. After all this time, he could finally vent the resentment festering in his heart.
Then, a sharp crack rang out—both demons stopped.
The Gate of Hades was closing.
Outside, Adam and the others had successfully rescued Yami and William and destroyed the ritual powering the gate.
"Adam!" Mereoleona's shout cut through the chaos as Jack, Nacht, William, and Yami were carried out by their comrades.
Adam quickly channeled the power of the Horse Talisman, healing their injuries. Among them, Jack was the worst off—barely clinging to life.
Even with Adam's healing, it was uncertain if he'd ever wake up again.
Mereoleona pointed toward the purple-black gel-like substance spreading from the gate. "What about that thing?"
Everyone turned. The gate might've been closing, but the dark matter didn't stop—it kept expanding, growing faster now that it had reached the human world.
If Mereoleona hadn't been blocking it with her magic, the entire team would've been swallowed.
"A horse that repels all external forces… it should work against this, right?"
Adam stood up, glancing at the others. He placed a hand on the dark substance, channeling his talisman's power.
But before he could release it fully, screams echoed from the half-shut gate.
Three figures burst out. One was desperately fleeing; the other two were locked in savage combat.
Ladin and Lucifero had fought their way out of the seventh level of Hades, tearing through everything in their path.
The higher demons who tried to escape were too slow. Aside from Admiller, every one of them was torn apart—devoured by the two monsters mid-fight.
Even the strongest demons of the underworld hid in terror. Ladin wasn't on their level anymore—he was above them.
But fate was cruel. Those who hid ended up becoming food anyway.
"Ladin..."
The sky itself shook as the two fought. The overwhelming demonic power radiating from above made everyone below tremble.
Meanwhile, a lone shadow raced after Admiller.
Lucius.
His plans—his years of scheming—were crumbling before his eyes.
"Damn it! Am I really going to lose?" he muttered, face twisted in rage.
No. Impossible.
An ideal world must exist. He would build it—a world without hierarchy or class.
Lucius sprinted after Admiller, teeth clenched. He had to devour that demon, return to the Clover Kingdom, and seize control of the Magic Book Tower.
"Even without the Demon King's power, I refuse to let everything I've built collapse!"
His face contorted with madness. The once-calm visionary was now a desperate man among true monsters.
…
"Noble Horse, grant me the power to repel all evil!"
Adam pressed his hand into the writhing black substance. The gel tried to drag him in, but a radiant white light burst from his palm.
The dark matter screamed. It recoiled violently, shuddering in fear.
"It's working!" everyone gasped.
Adam continued channeling the power, burning away the darkness.
"You all head back to the kingdom," he said firmly. "I'll handle this."
"No! I'm not leaving you!" Charlotte protested, stepping forward.
Adam gave her a soft smile. "I'll be fine. Trust me."
"I'll stay with you!" she insisted stubbornly.
Mereoleona sighed in frustration, grabbing Charlotte by the collar. "Enough! Come back with me, will you?"
Charlotte blinked in surprise, caught off guard by the lioness's tone.
Adam nodded to Mereoleona. She looked at him—reluctantly—and led the others away toward the Clover Kingdom.
Once alone, Adam looked up at the sky.
Ladin had become something far beyond his expectations.
A man who loses everything turns into a monster.
A man who gains everything learns to cherish it.
"Ladin… what the hell are you doing?"

Above, the battle raged on. Lucifero's head was obliterated, but it grew back instantly.
"I'll devour you!" Lucifero roared. "My strength will surpass everything!"
He lunged forward, jaws wide open, biting at Ladin's head.
"Disgusting bug."
Ladin kicked upward, his foot slamming into Lucifero's mouth, sending him flying.
Ptoo!
Lucifero spat blood, his eyes bloodshot with rage. He gathered energy in his mouth.
"Ultimate Ray of Light!"
"Shinra Tensei!"
Lucifero's body spun uncontrollably, spraying light everywhere like a broken yo-yo.
"I am the god of this world!" Ladin declared, closing his eyes and spreading his arms. His magic surged—far surpassing Lucifero's.
On the ground, Adam watched, stunned. Even the remaining dark matter was being sucked upward into the heavens.
This guy was like… carrying a bag of rice up multiple floors!
Lucifero was out of options now, trembling as he begged.
"If we join forces, we can rule the world! You'll be the true master of everything!"
Ladin's lips curled into a dark grin, his eyes cold with contempt.
"Who do you think you are? I am the god of this world. Why would I need the help of an ant?"
He clenched his fist. Lucifero's body twisted, his screams echoing across realms.
"You'll die horribly!" the Demon King howled—right before his body exploded.
Boom!
Lucifero and the remaining dark matter condensed into a single orb.
A perfect magic pill.
Ladin caught it in his palm, eyes gleaming.
"If I eat this," he murmured, "my magic power will be… complete."
