Chapter 30 - Warcraft: Installing the Special Effects Enhancement Pack!

The scene was so brutal it was beyond words.

The woman's face was utterly unrecognizable; her carotid artery was spraying blood like a fountain.

Brook was gasping heavily, his whole body drenched in red.

"Sorry," Xu Dan said calmly, "I just made that up based on a Japanese AV plot."

"???"

"Oh, it's a kind of… NTR-themed adult film."

"?!"

"NTR, you don't know? It means bull-headed man."

"!!!"

"Actually, your woman never betrayed you. She wasn't with a thousand men—only seven or eight exes. I just made up a story, never thought you'd react so strongly. You're too easy to fool…"

"Ahhhh!!!"

Brook completely lost his mind.

He'd been toyed with.

Just a few words had stirred up his greed and paranoia—enough for him to literally bite his woman to death.Though morally speaking, the woman was probably as rotten as he was.

"Ahhh! I'm going to kill you!!"

In his madness, Brook charged forward, trying to grab Xu Dan.

But he didn't realize—Xu Dan was no longer the man he once was.

With one swift kick to Brook's abdomen—

Boom!

Brook's body shot backward, flying seven or eight meters before crashing to the ground with a heavy thud.

The impact sent a wave of agony through him; his body curled up like a boiled shrimp.

"Ahhh!"

His screams echoed like a slaughtered pig's—his face twisted with pain, disbelief, and terror.

"Pathetic."

Xu Dan sneered coldly at the disgusting man before him.

These two bastards had once worked hand in hand to ruin him—one sabotaged the game he'd painstakingly built, the other embezzled all of his company's liquid assets.

They'd almost destroyed him completely.

Now, they were getting exactly what they deserved.

Cruel? Maybe. But Xu Dan had always lived by one rule—If others don't offend me, I won't offend them.

Of course, if anyone offends me—I'll pay them back a hundredfold.

Back then, when they pushed him to the brink, they should've been prepared to die miserable deaths.

"Remember this—do less evil in your next life."

After saying that, he gave Goenitz a silent nod, then turned and walked back to the car.

Through the window, a storm rose outside—its blades of wind slicing the two corpses into fragments before sweeping them into the sea, feeding the fish.

"Goenitz, well done!" Xu Dan said, lowering the window and praising him without reservation.

Goenitz, being a creation of the system, would never betray him regardless of how he was treated. Whether he was praised or not didn't matter.

But this time, Goenitz's methods were perfectly in line with Xu Dan's heart—a true and loyal servant indeed.

Upon hearing his master's words, Goenitz immediately half-knelt on the ground."To serve my lord is my duty!"

"Rise," Xu Dan said with a faint smile. "You're free to move about now. I'll summon you when I need you."

"Thank you, my lord! I take my leave!"

Xu Dan nodded, started the car, and drove toward his villa.

With the traitors dealt with, Xu Dan could finally devote himself entirely to the company.

Over the past month, The King of Fighters had continued to rise in popularity—the player count still climbing.

But the rate of growth had slowed down. It seemed the game had reached its peak.

After all, the world only had so many people.Excluding the elderly, adults, and children—only teenagers and young adults played games.

And even among them, not everyone liked gaming. Not everyone enjoyed fighting games.

If someone didn't like it, they just didn't—no game could change that.

So lately, aside from ongoing updates for The King of Fighters, his team had already begun designing the framework for their next game.

With Sky joining in, and a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents working as free labor, development was progressing rapidly.

The real key, though, was Xu Dan's god-tier programming skill.

The grunt work was left to others, but the core of the new game—he was building by hand himself.

Of course, the modeling was still entrusted to Liwa.

She understood Xu Dan's creative vision better than anyone—he only needed to describe a concept briefly, and she could produce a prototype within minutes.

This new game would be called—Warcraft.

When Xu Dan saw the first version of Warcraft running on his computer, he frowned slightly.

It wasn't that there were bugs—his programming was flawless. But the visuals were… only slightly better than the original Warcraft he remembered.

After the King of Fighters experience, how could players accept such "low-quality graphics"?

Even he couldn't accept it.

He opened the System's Points Store.

Scrolling past the long list of skills, he didn't hesitate for a second and went straight to the "Items" section.

[Basic Visual Enhancement Pack]: 10 million points

[Intermediate Visual Enhancement Pack]: 30 million points

[Advanced Visual Enhancement Pack]: 100 million points

[Super Visual Enhancement Pack]: 500 million points

Reading the detailed descriptions, Xu Dan immediately understood.

The gift the system had given him at the very start—the one used for The King of Fighters—was an Intermediate Enhancement Pack.

Just that level had made King of Fighters look practically lifelike!

Even for him—someone who had lived through both worlds—the game felt like playing a massive, high-budget single-player epic. Its visuals, effects, and impact were ten times better than any top-tier title from his previous life.

If an intermediate pack could do that—then what could an Advanced Enhancement Pack do?

Would it make the game so realistic you could film a movie inside it? Outshine Hollywood blockbusters?

And above that—there was even a Super Enhancement Pack worth five billion points!

That thing might just make players literally cross into another world!

The realism… the spectacle…If used in a fantasy game, players might truly feel like they were living inside it!

Terrifying.Utterly terrifying.

Humans are visual creatures—if King of Fighters had benefited from optimization, then Warcraft, with its grand world of magic and battle, definitely deserved it too!

Ideally, he would have chosen the top-tier Super Enhancement Pack.

But when he checked his balance, his smile froze—less than forty million points.

He was a long, long way from five billion.

With no choice, he could only afford an Intermediate Enhancement Pack.

But judging from what King of Fighters had achieved, Xu Dan could easily imagine what Warcraft would look like after optimization—an utterly breathtaking spectacle.

This wasn't just a simple fighting game anymore—this was a magnificent world of magic and might!

Once released, it would no doubt mark another new era for the gaming world!

And those developers still busy copying King of Fighters? They'd be furious enough to die on the spot!
