"Name?"
"Thor."
"Name?!"
"Thor."
"My stupid brother…"
Thor slowly raised his head.
He had been arrested, restrained in an interrogation chair, utterly humiliated.
If the warriors of Asgard were to see him like this, they would probably laugh for a hundred years.
Just imagining that scene made his scalp go numb.
Yet at that moment, a familiar figure appeared before him.
Loki.
His younger brother.
The very brother who had orchestrated everything.
Loki was a descendant of the Frost Giants, while Thor was Odin's bloodline. Asgard and the Frost Giants had hated each other for ages.
And yet—he and Loki had grown up together.
That contradiction, that tangled mix of emotions, surged violently in Thor's heart.
As he listened to Loki's stream of nonsense, another figure suddenly came to mind.
Xu Dan.
Before leaving, Thor had even told Xu Dan not to go too far, saying he'd set off thunder fireworks for him later.
And now—
Shame.
At that moment, footsteps sounded outside. Loki vanished without a trace.
That was one of the tricks Loki was best at.
At the same time, led by Agent Coulson, Xu Dan walked into the special interrogation room as casually as if he were entering his own home.
"So?" Xu Dan said deliberately. "You got caught, huh? Don't tell me you're actually a fraud—and not Thor at all?"
As expected, after hearing Xu Dan's "heartbroken" words, a wave of guilt surged through Thor's chest.
"Xu Dan, listen to me! There must be some mistake! I can definitely lift Mjolnir!"
"Sorry to interrupt the conversation," Coulson suddenly interjected. "But you are no longer permitted to touch that hammer again. Thank you for your cooperation. And Mr. Xu Dan—you may now take your friend and leave safely."
"???"
Thor stared blankly.
What the hell was going on?
Why were these men in black—so clearly organized and disciplined—showing such respect toward Xu Dan?
Could it be that Xu Dan's status on Earth was actually that impressive?
The restraints on Thor's hands were removed, but he felt no joy at all—
Because he still couldn't lift it.
After they left and got into the car, Xu Dan patted Thor on the shoulder.
"You'll be fine. If you can't lift it now, it'll get better someday."
A form of consolation that all men on Earth understood.
Thor didn't quite get it.
"Next time, I will definitely lift Mjolnir! I swear it in the name of my father, Odin!"
Far away in Asgard, the sleeping Odin suddenly shuddered.
Xu Dan observed a few seconds of silence for the old man, then casually asked, "I saw you talking to someone in the interrogation room just now. Why did he disappear after I came in?"
"Huh?" Thor reacted half a beat too late, stunned. "You saw Loki?"
"Loki?" Xu Dan asked, pretending ignorance.
"Yes—my bastard brother!"
"So you really do have a brother. Is it true, like the comics say, that Loki is famous across Asgard?"
"What? Hah! Loki's reputation stinks! That's exactly why I ended up like this today!"
"No way."
"How could it not be? Don't believe me? Once I lift Mjolnir, I'll take you to Asgard and show you myself!"
"Alright."
Xu Dan smiled faintly.
Thor stopped arguing just in time. For some reason, he had a vague feeling—
Like he was being tricked.
But no matter how he thought about it, he couldn't figure out where the problem was.
———————
Far away in Asgard.
Loki, who was secretly helping the Frost Giants infiltrate Asgard, could no longer contain himself.
Wielding the treasure that symbolized Asgard's authority, he also controlled a terrifying construct—
The Destroyer.
The Destroyer looked like a hollow steel giant, but under no circumstances should it be underestimated. The high-temperature beams it could emit from its face were capable of instantly reducing a person to ash.
Odin had assigned the Destroyer to guard Asgard's treasure vault.
But today, Loki—full of twisted schemes—seemed to have envisioned a particularly delightful scenario.
Send the Destroyer to Earth and mercilessly crush that stupid brother.
That day, the Frost Giants obtained the Casket of Ancient Winters.
The energy bursting from that small box instantly froze Heimdall, the gatekeeper.
And thus—
Destruction officially descended upon Earth.
The day after Thor, the God of Thunder, touched Mjolnir, Coulson grew suspicious.
He was an extremely perceptive agent.
Why had Xu Dan rushed to New Mexico?
Why had Xu Dan quickly befriended that strange man?
Why would Xu Dan personally come to retrieve someone?
What kind of identity did Xu Dan have? He was someone even S.H.I.E.L.D. found difficult to invite!
Yet he had willingly come to pick up a lunatic.
Wasn't that strange enough?
So Coulson shifted part of his focus away from Mjolnir and onto Thor—and everything related to Thor.
That was when he discovered the traces of a Rainbow Bridge on an open plain.
Just as he was leading his team to carefully examine the imprint, the sky suddenly changed!
Feeling the terrifying pressure looming overhead, everyone retreated at once.
"Boom!!"
It was like a meteor slamming into the ground, shaking the earth beneath their feet.
When the dust finally settled, they saw what lay within.
A steel giant.
"Whoa—is that Tony Stark's new toy?"
"You—contact Tony for me and ask him—"
"Sir, this is bad!"
Just as Coulson mentally linked Iron Man with Tony Stark, the Destroyer's face split open, terrifying energy rapidly gathering within!
Only a fool wouldn't realize it was about to attack.
"This is bad! Everyone, get out of the way!"
"Boom!!"
A blazing torrent of energy blasted straight toward the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents!
Fortunately, Coulson reacted in time and dodged the deadly strike.
The vehicles, however, were not so lucky.
Under an attack from the Immortal Realm, several specially modified cars were instantly destroyed.
"Run! Run! Run!"
Everyone fled in panic, terrified that the next second they would become the steel giant's next victims.
Coulson leapt into an intact vehicle, floored the accelerator, and sped away at full throttle!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The Destroyer's heavy footsteps felt like they were stomping directly on his heart.
What kind of monster was this?
Why had it suddenly appeared on Earth?
Someone was controlling it…
Or—like that hammer—
Had it come from some mysterious place unknown to mankind?
