He had picked well.
"Not bad, Tony. Thoughtful for once," Xu Dan said behind his sunglasses, glancing around.
Tony grinned. "See someone you like? Say the word."
Xu Dan rolled his eyes. "I'm appreciating the scenery. Try learning that word."
"Sure, sure. Appreciation," Tony teased. "Whatever you call it."
Xu Dan sipped his low-alcohol cocktail. Refreshing, smooth, paired with the sea breeze — his mood naturally lifted.
A perfect vacation spot.
"Come on, man," Tony nudged him. "Still time to enjoy the afternoon before the race."
"Weren't we here to watch?" Xu Dan asked.
Tony stared at him. "This is Monaco, right before a race, and you think we're just spectators?"
Xu Dan laughed.
Later that afternoon.
Tony sighed dramatically about his own failed attempt at "fun," while Xu Dan just shook his head at his friend's absurd stories.
Soon, Xu Dan put on his helmet.
For the wealthy, getting track access was a matter of a word — no complicated procedures needed.
Through the visor, Xu Dan grinned. "Tony, try to keep up later. That's where the real excitement is."
Tony's pride flared. "You haven't driven in ages. Let's see how rusty you are!"
It was true — Xu Dan mostly flew these days. Sitting in a driver's seat again did feel unfamiliar.
But that only made it more interesting.
The engine roared.
The race was about to begin.
