Chapter 15 - Breakfast & Blushes - Do Not Disturb the Lovebirds

Scene: "Good Morning, Captain-in-Shambles"

(Continuation)

---

Location: Valt's Suite – BC Sol Headquarters

Time: 8:06 AM – Morning After. Or… Round Three?

The soft morning light filtered through the large windows of Valt's suite, casting golden rays across the tangled sheets and the two very entangled bodies beneath them.

Valt blinked awake slowly, squinting at the sun, mind still hazy with warmth and—oh.

Oh.

He looked down.

And promptly slapped his forehead with a groan.

"Seriously?" he muttered to himself.

The sheet draped loosely over him and Shu, but the very naked reality of Shu Kurenai pressed against his side was impossible to ignore. One strong arm was flung around Valt's waist like Shu was afraid he'd vanish overnight. His legs tangled with Valt's like Shu had declared war on personal space in his sleep.

Valt's entire face turned a deep, unforgivable shade of red.

> "Why is he always like this," Valt whispered to himself.

"Why am I like this?"

"And why are my thighs—oh no—"

Before he could even complete the self-scolding cycle, a low, smug voice rumbled beside his ear.

"You're cute when you spiral like that."

Valt jumped slightly, turning to find Shu awake, smirking, and very unrepentant.

"Y-You were awake?!"

Shu grinned wider. "Since you started groaning like you'd made terrible life choices. It was adorable."

"I did make terrible choices," Valt muttered, trying to wriggle out of the sheets.

Shu's arm tightened.

"Nope. You're not going anywhere."

"Shu, I have work—"

"You have me baby."

Valt groaned again, trying to sit up—only to immediately stop.

His legs wobbled, just slightly, just enough to make him blush even harder.

"…I regret everything."

Shu smirked, smugger than any man had a right to be before breakfast. "You regret saying 'again, Shu' last night? Because your voice said otherwise."

Valt shot him a death glare.

"Stop talking."

Shu chuckled, still lying flat like he hadn't absolutely wrecked every ounce of Valt's dignity hours ago.

"You okay?" Shu asked, a little softer now, brushing Valt's hair back gently.

Valt sighed, leaning into the touch despite himself. "Yeah. Just… if anyone sees me limping today, I'm blaming you."

"They should know I have good taste," Shu replied shamelessly, pressing a kiss to Valt's cheek.

Valt groaned again and flopped back into bed. "I should've booked that guest room for you."

"Wouldn't have stayed in it."

"I know," Valt muttered trying to hide his smile in the pillow.

Later That Morning – Hallway Outside the Suite

Fubuki (bless him) paused with a clipboard in hand, about to knock for the captain's signature.

From inside, a muffled voice rang out:

> "Shu, stop touching my—! We have meetings!"

"You can walk later."

Fubuki turned 180° and walked away like his life depended on it.

"Lane," he whispered, grabbing the other boy by the sleeve. "We need to burn that clipboard."

Lane grinned. "Told you. Captain-in-love is doomed."

Location: BC Sol Cafeteria – Breakfast Hall

Time: 9:12 AM – Public Display of "Yes, That's My Man"

The breakfast hall buzzed with the usual morning noise—clattering plates, steaming coffee, exhausted trainees half-asleep in their uniforms.

And then the entire room went silent.

Because entering the cafeteria, looking obscenely well-loved (read: glowing, hair slightly tousled, lips maybe still a little puffy) was Valt Aoi—their legendary captain and golden boy.

Next to him?

Shu Kurenai.

Calm, composed, and walking so close their shoulders brushed with every step. Shu's hand casually rested on Valt's lower back like it had every legal right to be there. Valt, blushing but not pushing it away, let out a resigned sigh as they crossed the room together.

Someone—probably one of the junior bladers—whispered:

> "They look like they just got back from their honeymoon."

Another whispered:

> "Wait—are they married?"

Silas, Rantaro, and Free were already at the long table near the center. They all stared in varying degrees of shock and amusement as the couple approached.

Valt slid onto the bench first. Shu followed, sitting painfully close and immediately helping himself to Valt's untouched coffee like it was his own.

"Morning," Valt greeted the group sheepishly.

Rantaro blinked, fork in midair. "Valt. Bro. Are we just gonna pretend you didn't float in here?"

Valt choked on his toast. "I did not float—!"

"Your feet didn't touch the ground, man," Silas added, deadpan. "I'm pretty sure Shu was carrying you with sheer willpower."

Free was grinning like he'd just won the lottery. "I didn't know this breakfast came with front-row access to a rom-com."

Shu didn't even look up from buttering Valt's croissant.

"Jealous?" he said smoothly, then handed the croissant to Valt personally.

Valt blinked at the gesture. "Shu… I can butter my own—"

Shu leaned in close, brushing his lips to Valt's ear.

> "You can—but I like spoiling you."

Valt went red from ears to collar.

Across the table, Rantaro looked scandalized. "Okay. I love love, but you two are a lot even compared to caffeine."

"Shu," Silas muttered under his breath, watching the man slice fruit for Valt now. "You're not his boyfriend—you're his butler with romantic benefits."

"Wrong," Shu replied, placing a strawberry near Valt's mouth. "I'm his. Everything."

Valt slowly facepalmed, refusing to look at anyone. "This is my life now."

Free leaned back in his chair, grinning. "I gotta say it. Out loud. In public. I never thought Shu Kurenai would be the clingy one."

"He's not clingy," Valt muttered defensively.

Shu turned to Valt immediately. "So I can follow you into the shower this morning?"

Valt: "…"

Rantaro: "…"

Silas: "…"

Valt: "NO". 💢💢

Free, wiping a tear of laughter: "You walked into that one, Captain."

Meanwhile – On the Other Side of the Cafeteria

Several junior trainees huddled at a table, whispering feverishly.

"He called him 'mine' like five times in the span of a minute," one whispered.

"I heard he threatened Free for hugging Valt yesterday," said another.

"Is this love or a hostage situation?"

Lane, walking past, tossed a bored glance toward the table. "It's both. And it's glorious."

---

Back at the Main Table

Valt was officially redder than a ripe tomato. Shu was now cutting up pancakes and offering them one bite at a time. And no one—not even the world champion himself—had the strength to stop him.

"I liked you better when you were aloof and mysterious," Silas muttered.

Shu smirked, brushing a kiss to Valt's temple in full view. "I'm still mysterious. Just selectively."

Valt sighed and took another bite.

> This was his life now.

A walking menace in the shape of a boyfriend.

And honestly?

He wouldn't change it for the world.

To be continued…

(Next: Training chaos ensues. Shu insists on sparring shirtless "for flexibility." Valt tries to focus. He fails. BC Sol has an emotional crisis in the background.)
