The day before the trio of Kazuma, Kito and Yuji went on their mission, both boys were in lord Fugaku's office. Fugaku was explaining the context of the mission to the boys as they stood in front of him "Alright boys, listen up. I'll be needing you for a mission tomorrow, this isn't a time for small jokes, it's a real mission in a long while.", Kito thought to himself with a look of worry "Now that I think of it, it has been our first mission in a while.". Fugaku explained "As you kids may know, we have a lot of science facilities, not just in our city, but outside the city in lands that we very much own.", Yuji thought to himself "I know that much.". Fugaku continued to explain "Lately, our generator boxes have been getting stolen from one of our science base that's about 900 miles north east.", Kazuma muttered "900 miles is really far tho.", Kito replied "You have no idea.", Fugaku explained "At first, we didn't know what criminal group or solidiers were up to this, all we knew at the time was that our generator boxes were being stolen, and when we sent other soliders to take care of the situation and track said solidiers who stole them, most of the Kagahara's solidiers on the mission either got horribly injured in the process, or died due to loss of blood.". Yuji sighed "Really? Looks like the enemy really is that dangerous.", Fugaku then tells the boys "But now, we have a good Idea of the group responsible for all this.", he showed the boys a clip of some soldiers wearing a symbol of a red goat with long horns on their clothing "This is the national symbol of the county of [HELL SHIVER], led by Lord Hades. The soliders in that country are exceptionally strong with wielding powerful weapons, like giant axe's and huge swords. They also make use of guns, blasters and warships, just like any other countrys. The only thing is that they are really brutal and have alot of raw power. Not just that, but their country is known for cultivating giant and powerful beasts like Lion Beasts, Tiger Beasts, Bear Beasts and other powerful beasts. In other words, their military power is no joke.". Kazuma thought to himself with a nervous smile "And those are the people you want us to fight? Now I'm starting to get scared.", Fugaku thought to himself in a bland tone "Maybe I shouldn't have said that.". Fugaku sighed "They don't just have brutality, access to beasts and raw force, they also have the ability to create artificial souls.", Kito, Kazuma and Yuji paused for a moment while looking confused "Artificial souls?!", they all exclaimed in their heads In unison. Fugaku cleared his throat "The beasts they use for war isn't just to serve as power advantage, but they also use those beasts to create powerful weapons, that's where artificial souls come In. They kill whatever beast they have, place the blood of said beats on a magical circle and perform rituals. After the rituals are complete, the life force of the beast turns into a soul that would then be trapped in a weapon. Those weapons are what elites of [HELL SHIVER] use in battle. Not all of them can do that, but only a selected few can.", Kito raised his hand and then asked "Lord Fugaku, if I may. How many of that *Selected Few* can wield those artificial soul weapons?". Fugaku explained to the young Kito "Well, there are about 12 states in [HELL SHIVER], with each state being about a 1000 kilometres. In each of those 12 states, about 3 or even 5 people can wield those weapons.". Kito and Kazuma started shaking with nervous looks and smiles on their faces "That's a dangerous number. I do not care.", Kito muttered, Kazuma responded "I know, right?", Yuji then said "Lord Fugaku. I know you said something about not making any funny jokes at all, but I'm sorry. Even I'm scared.", Fugaku thought to himself "For someone who's scared, you're pretty blunt.". Fugaku then sighed and explained "Alright, I've already told you that our generator boxes have been stolen from our facilities outside the city. We have hundreds of those facilities out there, and each one has lost a couple of the generator boxes in there. That's why I'm sending you to the one's that have a few left. Remember, they are about 900 miles north east from the city, don't forget that.", Kazuma, Yuji and Kito responded "Yes, sir!". Fugaku then tells them "You are free to leave. But before you go on your mission tomorrow, I'll give you a GPS device so you won't lose your way. Got it?", Kazuma turned back as he, Yuji and Kito were leaving "Got it!", he said with a smirk before they all walked out the door. After they left, Fugaku sighed "WHOOO! That was easier than expected.", his face changed to that of a saddened one "Sending these kids out on a dangerous missions like this makes me feel guilty. They might die, I don't know. My prayers are that even if the mission is a fail, they should at least come back alive. That would be nice.". Currently, on the day of the mission, Kazuma, Yuji and Kito were here running accross the wastelands at dangerous levels of speeds, the sky was dark and looked like it was about to rain, and the forests around them looked small but dangerous. As they ran at the top of their speed, Kazuma asked "How much further from the base?", Kito who was reading the GPS device replied "Just a few more kilometres.". Yuji asked "How many kilometres?", Kito responded "10 more kilometres.", he clicked his tounge "That's way too far.", Kazuma responded "Whatever. It's been three hours since we left Kagahara, as long as we make it in time, it's fine.". Yuji looked at Kazuma "You're being way too optimistic about this.", Kazuma smirked "Whatever. As long as we do what we've gotta do, we'll be fine.", Kito thought to himself "Now I'm certain we're going to die.".
