"Roger! Stop!"
"Hey, Garp, there's no one around. Let's take a break."
"Really? Hahaha, then let's take a break."
The two found a shady spot under a tree and plopped down comfortably.
"Roger, I'm telling you," Garp said as he pulled out a bag of donuts, "if I ever find out you've attacked civilians, I won't let you off easy!"
Roger let out a hearty laugh. "Do you even know me? I'm not interested in doing boring things like that!"
Despite standing on opposite sides of the law, the Pirate King and the Hero of the Marines shared a friendship forged in countless battles.
"Aren't you worried about your crew?" Garp asked with a mouth full of donut.
Roger waved it off. "Hah! They all know our relationship. They'll be careful not to go overboard."
He extended a hand toward Garp. "Hey, give me one of those!"
"Didn't you just say you didn't care?" Garp grumbled but still handed one over. "Fine. Just this one."
Roger chomped into the donut and grinned. "Say, do you know Kavi?"
Garp's eyes lit up. "Of course! He asked me for a favor not long ago."
Roger groaned dramatically. "Of course I know him! I even tried to recruit him, but he rejected me on the spot. Coldly, I might add!"
"Hahaha! He didn't reject us!" Garp said proudly, puffing out his chest.
Roger shot him a glare. "Don't lie to me. Kavi swore off joining both pirates and the navy. If he was going to change his mind, why not just join from the start?"
Garp lazily picked his nose. "Relax, I'm not lying. He didn't join us either. But he did ask me to look after a young girl who'll be enlisting in the navy soon. That counts for something, right?"
Roger nearly spats out his donut. "That doesn't count! If your grandson becomes a pirate one day, does that make you a pirate too?!"
"Bah! Your grandson's a pirate! Your whole family's pirates!" Garp shouted back, instantly offended.
If Kavi were here, he would've called Garp the Great Prophet.
Six Months Later
After half a year, Kavi finally arrived in one of the bustling kingdoms deep in the New World. The first thing he did? Buy himself a large merchant ship and dock it at the port.
Without a ship, he felt naked.
As he wandered through the lively streets, the music and chatter reminded him of festival nights in his past life. It was a good day—until he accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oops, sorry!" Kavi apologized, not looking where he was going.
"You got a death wish or something?" a deep voice growled.
The street fell into sudden silence.
Kavi looked up… and up… and up. Towering above him was a monstrous figure with bulging muscles, a ferocious blue dragon tattoo snaking across his torso, and a pair of curved horns sprouting from his forehead.
In one hand, he wielded a massive spiked kanabo mace.
Kavi blinked.
'Oh? Isn't this Kaido?'
"I said MOVE!" the man barked, clearly not used to being ignored.
'Yup. That's definitely young Kaido. Arrogant, full of himself, and acting like the king of the world.'
But Kavi wasn't one to bow down—not even to the so-called strongest creature.
"Ahem, young man," Kavi said smoothly. "I might've bumped into you, but don't you think you bear some responsibility too?"
Kaido blinked. "What did you say?"
"If you hadn't been standing in front of me, how could I have hit you? So maybe you should get out of the way, hmm? Kid?"
Kaido's eye twitched.
'Did this guy just call me a kid?!'
The air grew thick with killing intent. Kaido's face twisted into a snarl. "You're dead."
He reached out with a hand, aiming to crush Kavi's shoulder under his grip.
"Hey, hey, what are you doing?" Kavi said, completely unfazed. "Young people are so impatient these days."
With a body stat over 6,000, plus the Pangu Fruit's monstrous buffs, Kavi's body was practically indestructible—at least by current Kaido's standards.
Even the real Yonko Kaido would have a tough time breaking his defense.
"Huh?" Kaido frowned, surprised. 'Why isn't he budging?'
Kavi smirked. "If you've got guts, come fight me. Of course, if you're afraid, I understand."
Now, a sane man would brush that off. But Kaido? This was Kaido we're talking about. A walking ego wrapped in muscle and destruction.
'This guy… I'm gonna kill him.'
But Kaido wasn't dumb. He led Kavi away from the crowds—he wasn't about to attract marine attention while recruiting crew with Linlin.
Kavi led him to an open space and turned with a grin.
"I hear you're invincible. Is that true?"
Kaido stared blankly. 'Who told you that?'
"No more talk! DIE!"
Kaido's kanabo sparked with black lightning as he charged it with Conqueror's Haki.
"Thunder Bagua!"
The massive mace tore through the air toward Kavi's skull.
'Geez, this kid really went for the kill. Brutal.'
Kavi casually raised his fist, wrapped in intertwining red and black Haki.
Boom!!!
The moment their attacks met, Kaido was sent flying like a ragdoll, crashing into the earth and leaving a crater behind.
"Still alive, huh? Quit playing dead!" Kavi called out.
Kaido lay motionless, trying to process what just happened. 'That Haki… he used it with such ease. I couldn't even see his full strength…'
Kavi sighed and flicked a stone with his finger. It whizzed through the air and cracked into the dirt where Kaido had been—only for Kaido to dodge at the last moment.
"Ah, so you're awake."
Kaido stood up slowly, clutching his mace, his pride bruised more than his body.
"What the hell do you want?" he demanded.
"I told you—I just wanted to see if you were really invincible." Kavi shrugged. "No ill intent. Just curiosity. And maybe a little bullying."
Kaido gritted his teeth. He'd come here to recruit crew members—and ended up getting steamrolled.
Kavi dusted off his clothes and grinned.
"Nice meeting you, Kaido. Train harder next time."
