"I know I was wrong! Little Robin will listen to Uncle Kavi from now on! Uncle, you must come save me!" Robin looked genuinely anxious as she tugged on Kavi's sleeve, her small face flushed red as she quickly admitted her mistake.
Kavi chuckled softly. He was only trying to scare her. Rubbing her head gently, he said with mock seriousness.
"Alright, alright. If anyone dares to take our little Robin, I'll knock them flat and bring you home myself."
Robin snuggled into Kavi's palm like a kitten her eyes sparkling. "I knew Uncle Kavi would save me!"
Kavi blinked at her affection. Something about this felt… off. Was he raising Robin the wrong way? He couldn't tell whether she'd grow up to be a genius or a clingy little devil.
Maybe it was time to let her interact with other kids. If she stuck to him all day, she'd probably develop some odd social habits.
Two Years Later
"Uncle Kavi! I'm back!"
Little Robin came sprinting toward him, her clothes caked in dirt and her hair a tangled mess. Before Kavi could react, she dove into his arms.
"What happened to you? You look like you crawled out of a ditch." Kavi lifted her up, brushing dust from her cheeks.
"Hmph! They said I was a monster, a wild child without parents, so I beat them up!" Robin pouted, then puffed out her chest. "But I won! Uncle, I'm amazing, right?"
She raised her little fist proudly, her posture like a pint-sized pirate queen.
Kavi covered his face with a hand. This... was not what he'd intended.
Still, at least no one would bully her anymore.
"Amazing! Our little Robin is the toughest around!" he praised with a grin. "If anyone insults you again, beat them harder. I'll handle the consequences."
Robin nodded vigorously, satisfied with her uncle's support.
It had to be fate. Robin, even with food, clothes, and warmth, still ended up eating the Hana Hana no Mi.
One day she stumbled across a strange fruit and, thinking it was candy, took a bite. By the time she realized it tasted like dung, it was too late.
She returned home bawling, convinced she had turned into a monster after eating "poop-shaped fruit."
Kavi had to give her a crash course on Devil Fruits just to calm her down.
Back in the day, One Piece fans joked about what would happen if Garp had eaten the Flower-Flower Fruit. Kavi shuddered at the thought—a sky full of fists.
Powerful? Absolutely. Nightmare fuel? Also, yes.
Should he start training little Robin?
...A terrifying thought.
"Gugu~"
Robin's stomach growled, snapping Kavi out of his daydream.
"Uncle Kavi, I'm hungry~"
He blinked and looked at her. "Alright, alright. I'll make you something nice."
"And don't forget to shower after dinner! You're covered in dirt—what kind of image is that?"
Robin casually patted the dust off herself. "I want Uncle to wash me!"
She blinked at him with puppy-dog eyes, completely unfazed.
Kavi almost, spat out blood.
"You have hands! You're not a baby anymore! Aren't you embarrassed?"
"Nope! I want Uncle to wash me!" She clung to his arm, swinging it back and forth in protest.
"Not happening!" Kavi pulled his arm away and walked into the kitchen, leaving her to sulk dramatically behind him.
Robin, seeing he was serious, stopped pouting. Her eyes narrowed in quiet contemplation.
"Hmph. Mama's old tricks aren't working anymore. I need a new plan…"
Kavi would never understand what Olivia had taught Robin to make her like this.
Or maybe... this was the butterfly effect of his arrival in this world.
New World — Somewhere at Sea
Onboard the Oro Jackson, a heavy silence hung in the air.
"Roger, have you really made up your mind?" Rayleigh's tone was heavy as he stared at his captain.
They had just returned from the Final Island. The dream had been fulfilled. Their journey had reached its pinnacle. So why—why now—was Roger doing this?
Roger smiled, but there was a hint of fatigue in his eyes. "Rayleigh, I know it doesn't make sense to anyone else, but I have to do this."
"I'm running out of time."
Rayleigh's expression changed instantly.
"What… what are you saying?"
Roger's voice was calm, even cheerful. "I've got about a year left, maybe less. Before I go, I want to spark something new… a new era."
There was fire in his eyes, even if his body was slowly burning out.
Rayleigh took a long breath. "Then… how do you plan to tell them?"
By them, of course, he meant Shanks and Buggy.
The two boys who worshipped Roger—what would they do when they found out their hero was dying?
"Don't underestimate those brats," Roger said with a grin. "They'll cry now, sure. But one day, they'll become giants in this world."
Rayleigh nodded solemnly. "Alright then… Let's do it."
And so, the Roger Pirates arrived at the Final Island.
There, they learned the truth of the world.
There, they named it: Raftel.
There, Gol D. Roger became the Pirate King.
Not long after, the Roger Pirates quietly disbanded.
One Year Later — A Mysterious Island
Two men sat across from each other beneath the shade of tall trees.
One wore a white cloak lined with gold. The other had a calm, quiet smile.
"Roger... you're really going to surrender?" Garp's face twisted in disbelief.
"Yes," Roger said with startling calm. "I came to ask you a favor."
"What is it?"
"I want the World Government to lift the bounty on all members of my crew."
Garp was silent for a moment, then nodded.
"If you surrender yourself, I'm sure they'll agree. Anything else?"
Roger hesitated, then said:
"I have a child… not born yet. He'll be born on Baterilla, in the South Blue."
Garp's jaw dropped. "You want me to take care of your kid!?"
Roger gave him a wry smile. "I trust you. But don't worry—you won't be alone. I've asked someone else to help too."
Garp narrowed his eyes. "Rayleigh?"
"No. I didn't tell any of my crew. The one I asked is someone you've met before. His name is Kavi."
Garp's brows furrowed. "That guy… from back then?"
Roger nodded. "With the two of you watching over him, I think my son—Ace—can grow up free and happy."
Garp clicked his tongue. "Hmph. Fine. I'll do it. And I'll raise him to be a fine Navy officer! What a pity you won't get to see it…"
Roger: "…"
