Chapter 21:Red's Escalation
At the prison,Kraven and his men were suffering.The humans made a prison just to separate crows from everyone else.A guard arrived at Kraven's cell.
"Kraven…I brought some food for you."The guard placed the tray in the hole.The cursed crow turned to the guard slowly and stood up to embrace his height. He grabbed the tray without saying anything and sat down.
"Worms…delicious.The only good thing you humans can do is make food."
"No thanks?"
"Not to a disgrace like you."
"Alright then…"
Slurp after slurp.One by one the worms disappeared off his plate into his stomach.
"It's a blood moon tonight isn't it?"
"It is. We'll keep you in your cells so there's no havoc.I know you probably won't do this but if you see any suspicious behaviour,report it."
Kraven didn't say anything. He kept on swallowing the bugs.Eventually they had run out of things to say,the guard left.Kraven stared at the dirty floor.
Thinking.Thinking…think about the plan.
A crow opposite his cell whistled towards him.
They nodded at each other.With no guards in sight,the crow opposite placed something through the lock.
The lighting was too dim for Kraven to see.The lock made a click and he slowly pushed through the bars.The metal rustled and echoed throughout the prison.
Footsteps emerged from below but Kraven wanted to risk it.The crow ran towards Kraven and took his cursed chains off as well as his own.
Guards came with swords and guns,rushing up the stairs,coming around every corner.
"NEXT ORDER IS FROM YOU!"Kraven and the crow stood back to back twitching their heads.
"We run."
He raised his hand in the air and BOOM!A purple smoke coated the room like a soft blanket.Clicks went round in a circle and by the time the smoke had cleared,they were all gone.
All cells opened. It was so quiet…they escaped to fast.Well not all of them.Only Kraven and about 5-6 other crows managed to get out.
"We need to tell Chief Lenny about this!"One guard whispered.Another guard turned around bawling his eyes out.
"We can't,he'll kill us!We let crows escape in a matter of minutes and they did it so fast!"
"Not all of them escaped."The guard pointed below.Most of the crows were panicking and before long,Kraven was placed back inside the prison cell.
Where did all of my clan go?I'm by myself now and I need to find them.
"Look what we have here Kibo,a Genshi wandering around all by herself."Red took his hands out of his pockets and stood there.The air pushed his clothes back.They were really big clothes…
"Aren't you going to say something little girl?"Kibo teased.
"I'm not little!I'm only 14 years old.Just because I look small doesn't mean I'm that young."
"They shouldn't have abandoned you,your clan.Which means you must be…LOST!"
"Actually I am.This bloodmoon feels like hell.I'm thirsty,hungry and the air is so humid!"
"1 hour has passed which has felt like 1 day."
"ONLY ONE?"
"Yep.I'm enjoying it though.What's your name little girl?"
"Kimiko."
"My real name isn't actually Red. It's Terrence.People just address me as Red because of my obsession with the colour.That leads to BLOOD,doesn't it?"
"SHUT UP!Just leave me alone!"
"No.But we'll go easy on you."
I gasped.Took a few steps back and began sprinting for my life.I ran for what felt like a life time.
My body was working too hard.I felt a hard gravitational pull grasp my neck and pull me back.
"OUCH,DAMN IT WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
"You didn't even run that far."They burst out laughing.These monsters,they were really laughing.They enjoyed to see people helpless.They were evil.
I tried to get the force off my neck but it was no used.I looked down a bit and saw my neck turn purple.Suddenly,Red let go.I coughed desperately,clutching onto my neck,trying to catch my breath.
It felt as if there was no oxygen. As if he had sucked the life out of me. My heart beat faster than ever.
My blood was boiling,I was sure of it.
On my left side,Kibo had vines coming out of his hands and on my right,Red watched. He just stood there.There was an evil smirk behind that mask.
Once I gained my energy back,I'll reverse time as much as I can. To stop this blood moon once and for all.Kibo's vines sprouted way too quick.Thorns evolved around it.
"NO!"I muffled.Red covered my mouth. My screams were unheard.I couldn't move.This was it.The end of my life,I was really going to die right here right now. In this very moment,I heard a stab then a thud right next to me.But I didn't feel any pain and the two of my murderers wouldn't hurt each other right?Especially if they've been working so hard together.I opened my eyes but what I wanted wasn't what happened.
Maku deflected the vine.Kibo was struggling to regenerate his arm.I looked back and saw the others rushing towards me.I stood up in a rapid rush and sprinted towards my clan.
"Kimiko?"Irai questioned.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?"Aizakku grabbed me by my hair. He examined it like a dog sniffing for food. He finally let ago but I didn't want to.I cuddled him tightly and leaned over his shoulder.
"Please Uncle…you have to stop them.You have to stop Red and Kibo!"He nodded.
"We will.You,Yanagi and Irai stay back.Maku and I will deal with them."
"Why can't I help?We can outnumber them.Three on one!"
"Irai I know you're eager to join in but stay back."
"Fine."We kept our distance,stood helpless in the open.I felt the rustling wind hitting our clothes.
"The Emperor meets me again!Strike two…in three years."
"Shut up.You went from an outlaw to a cursed prodigy.Maybe if you weren't so cocky,you would be way stronger than me…"
"I already am."Aizakku chuckled lightly with a smirk on his face. He threw off his cape and cracked his knuckles.
"I think we'll have a one on one.Your clan should step back.Same with you Kibo."
"But the plan-"
"I DONT CARE ABOUT THE PLAN JUST DO IT."His facial expression changed.Maku widened his eyes.
"Maku just do it for the safety of us all."As Aizakku turned back to Red.
At this point of the story,you've been through a lot.There's been betrayals,action,suspense,resting points and much more key details that have led the story onward.But the bloodmoon is one of many events that will happen.Although,you could stop reading now. It's been 21 chapters and 274 pages!Maybe take a break perhaps.Get a drink?Or a snack?I know this book has been interesting from page 1 but reading too much without taking breaks is bad for your brain.Doing too much of anything is bad for your brain!This page is only a break from the main story.Take a breather and when you are ready,look at the next page for the main story,there's more to come.
