Chapter 10 - The power of Explosion

"I can't believe the old man wanted me to babysit you while he slacks off at his desk," Deridara said to Kagami as he looked at him.

The two leaps from one tree to another.

Deridara was already a Chunin, and he was one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, among most Chunin in the Stone Village.

Therefore, he was able to obtain missions as high as B rank, since S and A rank missions are reserved for Jonins.

Today, he was given a C rank, which is a significantly lower grade than what he normally receives.

That is because Onoki wanted Kagami to accompany him so that the boy could gain experience.

The mission that they were on was to clear out a bandit camp near a route to the stone village.

After travelling for a while the two arrived at a place where the bandit camp was located.

The two didn't show their presence and decided to look at the camp from a place not very far away in order to see how many of the enemies were there.

"There are around twelve or thirteen bandits. So not much, I can take care of all of them, you just wait here." Deridara said as he jumped towards the middle of the bandit camp.

"Wait." Kagami tried to stop him from getting him to calm down first before rushing into potential danger but he was too late.

"Want to see my beautiful Explosion," Deridara said as he slammed the ground with his fist.

A semi-huge explosion occurred in the middle of the bandit camp.

"What is happening here?" One of the bandits asked.

"It's the Shinobi from the stone village." The bandits were able to identify the village that Deridara was from immediately because of the headband that he was wearing.

Deridara appeared in front of the person who identified him and put his palm on his face.

The bandit's face exploded.

"Get the stone village shinobi." The other bandits said as they rushed towards Deridara.

Deridara despite being outnumbered easily handled all the bandits that came towards him.

It was obvious since he was someone who could be considered a genius among most of his peers compared to the bandits who can not even use any kind of ninjutsu.

The bandits that were a bit further away from him throw kunai and shuriken at him when they can't beat him in hand-to-hand to hand combat but Deridara just used explosions created from his palm to counter the projectiles.

"What? How is that possible?" One of the bandits blurted out.

"This is nuts. How is a teenager beating us?" The other complained.

"I am getting out of here." One said as he turned his back and started to run away.

"You bastard." The other bandit cursed as he looked at the one who turned his back on them.

There are primarily two types of people who tend to become bandits in the world of Shinobi.

The first is the one who likes to bully the weak civilians who can't afford to hire shinobi to protect their wealth and families while being too weak to fight back.

They possess many chances to abandon their criminal life and live a normal life life but they choose to become human scums out of their free will.

The second is the one that got forsaken by their former home.

Many shinobi villages, even the strongest and the most prosperous ones will not hesitate to abandon normal civilians or even their shinobi for the sake of the greater good, according to the village's elders or hierarchy.

Powerful Shinobi are either hunted down by the village itself or enter the land of silence where Shinobi rule can't reach them.

Normal civilians that does not have much Shinobi training become either human test dummies or expelled from their village where they either die from starvation or illness.

Their only way to prolong their survival is to gang together with other survivors and become bandits.

For these types of bandits betray among each other and abandonment of one's comrades is one of the greatest sins that one can commit.
