A small figure was skiing, gliding quickly through the trees. His technique was quite good.
[How did Hattori jump that ten-meter cliff?]
This question had been bugging Conan all night. Early in the morning, he couldn't take it anymore.
Swoosh!
Snow scattered as Conan slid to a stop.
"This is where Hattori jumped."
Conan took off his snowboard and walked around, his eyes scanning everything.
"The slope here is only about 30 degrees. Even with the avalanche, Hattori's speed wasn't enough to clear ten meters, especially while holding Sonoko. And..."
Conan went to the edge and started digging. He quickly reached the original cliff face.
He looked at it, his eyes flashing.
He stood up, hands in his pockets, his glasses gleaming. "There's no ramp here at all. Hattori lied!"
Conan had been suspicious of Heiji from the beginning.
Incredible insight, pro-level driving skills, fighting ability better than Ran's, and now this impossible jump...
"Hattori has a problem. Or he has a secret."
Conan's eyes gleamed. He even had a wild theory.
The timing of the Night Baron's appearance and Heiji's... it was too close.
Inside the villa!
"Heiji! Kazuha! Get up! Chris-nee is gone!"
"Chris-nee is gone?"
Kazuha quickly got up, dressed, and went out.
[Vermouth left?]
Heiji opened his eyes, thinking. She left either because she got the info she needed, or she has a new mission. Either way, it has nothing to do with me.
But outside, the three girls were in a panic.
"Sonoko, did Chris-nee leave a note in her room?" Ran asked.
"No, nothing," Sonoko shook her head.
"What do we do? Do you think she's in trouble?" Kazuha was also worried.
"Yawn... Why are you all making so much noise this early?" Kogoro Mori grumbled, walking out of his room.
"Dad, Chris-nee is missing!"
"What? Miss Chris is missing?"
Kogoro's face changed, and he ran into her room. "My Miss Chris! Miss Chris!"
The three girls looked on, exasperated.
Heiji came out of his room, wearing only a thin shirt. He'd been woken up by Kogoro's wailing.
"Heiji, you're not wearing enough!"
Kazuha's expression changed. She ran into his room, but came right back out.
"What do we do? All of Heiji's clothes are wet. Heiji, get back in bed!"
From saving Sonoko yesterday, all his clothes were soaked.
Sonoko immediately grabbed her phone. "Hello, this is Sonoko Suzuki. Send several sets of men's clothes to the ski resort. Right now!"
Heiji sighed. It was a little cold, but not a big deal.
"Ran, what's going on?"
Conan came back inside, sensing the strange atmosphere.
"Chris-nee is missing."
Ran answered, then realized. "Conan, where were you so early?"
"I just went out to play in the snow," Conan said innocently.
"Good grief, it's dangerous here. Don't run off," Ran said.
"Okay~~"
He replied, but as he looked down, his glasses flashed. Chris is gone?
"Heiji, get back in your room and wait for the clothes," Kazuha ordered.
Heiji let Kazuha push him back to his room.
"Sonoko, were you the first one to find Chris gone?"
Heiji casually put his arm around Kazuha, looking at Sonoko, who looked envious.
"Yeah. I went to get Chris-nee for breakfast, but she was already gone."
Sonoko collected herself.
"When you went into Chris's room, was there anything strange?"
That woman Vermouth is a mystery. It's normal for her to leave without a trace.
"Oh... Chris-nee left a note stuck to the TV screen."
Sonoko suddenly remembered and pulled a note from her pocket.
"For Heiji Hattori's eyes only."
"That's it?"
Kazuha and Ran looked at each other, then stared at Heiji.
["For Heiji Hattori's eyes only?" What does that mean?]
Heiji thought: That woman Vermouth... she wouldn't do something this pointless. "Eyes only"?
Suddenly, a smile appeared. "Kazuha, bring me my phone."
"Huh? Okay."
Kazuha ran to get his phone.
The screen was black.
"Heiji, I'm sorry... I dropped your phone in the snow. It's broken, it won't even turn on," Kazuha said.
"Was it in the snow for a long time?" Heiji asked.
"Yeah. I was so worried about you and Sonoko, I didn't notice. Chris-nee is the one who found it."
"Vermouth?" Heiji's eyes flashed. "So, Vermouth knew my phone was broken?"
"Yeah. She tried to fix it, but couldn't."
Heiji glanced at her room, walked to the TV, and turned it on.
The dark screen slowly lit up.
The others watched, confused. Why turn on the TV?
The TV finished turning on. The screen was frozen on a single image.
"A dandelion???"
The three girls looked at each other. Why was that on the TV?
[A dandelion?]
Conan's eyes lit up. I get it. A dandelion. This Chris woman and Hattori really do have a connection.
"Hattori, why are you watching TV? We need to find Miss Chris!" Kogoro grumbled.
"This is her goodbye message to you."
"A goodbye message?"
The three girls looked at him, confused.
"Ran, the meaning of a dandelion is 'a farewell for the next reunion.'"
Conan couldn't help but say it.
"A farewell for the next reunion?"
Their eyes lit up, and they smiled. "So Chris-nee isn't missing! That's great!"
The room was filled with happy chatter again.
"But Heiji, how did you know?" Sonoko asked, looking at him with admiration.
"'Eyes only' meant something of mine. The thing I open most is my phone."
"But she knew my phone was broken, so she was telling me to open something like it."
"In this room, the only thing like a phone screen is the TV. Sticking the note on it was the proof."
[That's not all. Hattori left something out.]
[That dandelion was left for him. It means they will meet again.]
Conan looked at Heiji suspiciously, his glasses flashing.
