After learning Chris wasn't missing, the three girls were finally relieved.

"Yes. Mom picked it out specially for Heiji," Sonoko said proudly.
Kogoro looked at Heiji with envy. That brat. If I had been the one to find the Black Star, this car would be mine.
"Uncle, you can drive my car. I'll ride in Heiji's."
Sonoko tossed her keys to Kogoro and sat in the back of Heiji's new car with Kazuha.
Heiji glanced at the two girls in the rearview mirror, started the car, and was the first to leave the resort.
It was a little quiet in the car. The atmosphere was strange.
"Heiji, turn on the music. And turn it up," Kazuha said with a pout.
Soon, loud DJ music filled the car.
Heiji looked in the rearview mirror again. The two girls were huddled together, whispering.
The orange Bentley Bentayga turned heads all the way down the highway.
Combined with the loud music, it was an incredible sight, leaving a trail of envious stares.
Soon, they arrived at the Mouri Detective Agency.
"Heiji, we're done."
Kazuha leaned forward and whispered in Heiji's ear.
The music instantly shut off, and the car was quiet again.
"All settled?"
Heiji looked at the two girls. They both seemed calm, with no sign of a fight.
"Mhm, settled. I'm thirsty, I'm going to buy a drink. Sonoko, you tell him."
Kazuha gave Heiji a look, then got out and ran to a nearby convenience store.
"Heiji, Kazuha agreed! I'm so happy!"
Sonoko climbed from the back seat into the passenger seat and threw herself into Heiji's arms, looking excited.
Heiji carefully held her. He could feel her excitement.
"You really didn't have to..."
Heiji stroked Sonoko's orange hair and sighed.
"Hmph. I'm yours now. You're not allowed to ditch me."
Sonoko glanced in the side mirror, then suddenly kissed Heiji.
She pulled back just as quickly and returned to the back seat.
Honk honk!
Heiji looked in the mirror. Kogoro and the others had arrived.
"Heiji, I'll call you tomorrow."
Sonoko opened the door and left.
After Kazuha said goodbye to Ran and the others, Heiji drove off.
On the way home, Kazuha chattered nonstop, showing no sign of being upset.
Heiji was relieved. This was the best possible outcome.
"Uncle, Auntie, because of that, Mrs. Suzuki sent Heiji another car."
Kazuha briefly explained what happened, leaving out the parts about Chris and Sonoko.
"It's good to be capable, Heiji. You should come to the police department more often and put those skills to good use," Heizo Hattori said sternly.
Heiji nodded. "I know, Dad."
"The Suzuki family is treating you very well, Heiji. Be careful. Don't let yourself be used by them," Shizuka Hattori said.
"I know, Mom."
With a satisfied sigh, Kazuha relaxed in Heiji's arms.
"Heiji, you're not allowed to leave me."
Heiji paused, then smiled. "Silly. You're not escaping me in this lifetime."
Kazuha smiled sweetly and fell asleep.

The next morning, they were eating breakfast.
"And now for a news update. Jirokichi Suzuki, consultant to the Suzuki Corporation, has decided to hold an art exhibition."
"The exhibition will feature Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers,' which he purchased for a record 300 million dollars..."
"And now, here is Miss Sonoko Suzuki to tell us more."
On TV, Sonoko looked elegant and confident as she handled the media.
"Heiji, Sonoko looks amazing," Kazuha said, watching her on TV.
Heiji just smiled. "Silly. Eat your breakfast."
"Hmph. I can't lose to Sonoko."
Kazuha made up her mind to work hard and become a great lawyer.
"A 300-million-dollar 'Sunflowers.' Looks like things are about to get busy," Heizo Hattori said.
"What does that have to do with you?" Shizuka Hattori glared at him.
"Mom, Dad means that if 'Sunflowers' is exhibited, Kaitou Kid probably won't stay quiet. They'll need a lot of police support."
